So I bought these glasses from Jabong on sale. But the case they sent does not have any soft casing. They basically shipped it wrapped in bubble paper. The case is a plastic tube. So, I basically need a sunglass case. Thanks!

I am giving it a second try. I listed my 2012 Google Nexus 7 3G 2 days ago. Just got one query. But as expected, it was quite absurd. He wants me to drop the price 40%. Claims to have Google as his client. Says Google is offering him the 2013 edition of the 3G variant for Rs. 18000 (US price is going to be above Rs. 22000). It's fun. I told him to get it because it is an excellent deal. He said he is planning on getting that but wanted a backup device for testing. I am assuming he is an Android developer and if he is right, Google seems to be offering the new model at pretty amazing prices to developers here in India even before it is launched in the US market. 

 

Listed two more products for variety. I know people here have had much success with OLX. Share your stories!

Why cant be Dlink Modem used as a Dedicated Router?

Hello Everyone.

 

I am working with BSNL as a Broadband technician for the last 2 years and ive came aross all kind of modem+routers but the most peculiar i find belong to Dlink.

 

Whenever i try to pair Dlink DSL modem+router (4 port) with any other service provider like Airtel or our local ISP Ortel i find that most of the time the Dlink fails to work.

 

Recently one of my clients wanted wireless capabilities for his Ortel Cable Internet . and brought a Dlink 2750u Dual Antenna Modem +Router (4 port with DSL, its a new model not the older one). Upon configuring the device i found that only the LAN sharing was working and the wireless was not working.

So, i brought another Dlink 2750u from the office (a 3 year older  model, single antenna). After following all the steps exactly as before this time the wireless was working but not the Lan.

 

I called up Dlinks customer support and they told 2750u is only for BSNL. i have worked with all kind of modems from a whole different range of companies ranging from TP-LInk to Digisol to our own BSNL modem. there is no problems configuring them as a dedicated router. why does the problem exists with Dlinks modem?

 

Or is there anything specific i have to do with Dlinks modem? have anyone else faced any kind of similar problem?

 

Would be grateful if anyone can help me. i really need to answer  my clients haha

 

Just for a quick reference here is how i configured them:

Lan cable from cable modem to dlink modem- bringing dlinks ip range in accordance  to the cable modems ip. DHCP, NAT, tried both enabling and disabling them. no effect.

Do i need to do anything with the "Layer 2 Interface"  or "WAN service" ?

I have been unable to open certain websites like NDTV, IBNLive on BSNL. Able to view them through proxfree website, so does not seem problem with the websites. Any know connectivity issues on BSNL now?

Sony Max 2 - Another Movie channel from Sony

After Movies OK by STAR and &Pictures by Zee, Sony also planning to launch another movie channel probably named as MAX 2. Also planning to launch 3rd GEC after Sony TV and SAB TV. MSM gets ready to max it with MAX 2

Its good news for movie buffs as Multi Screen Media's (MSM) long awaited plan to launch one more movie channel is rolling along fine. And the unveiling of the new service is likely to be once both the Indian Premier League (IPL) and elections are wrapped up and done. Multi-system operators (MSOs) say they have been approached by the Sony Entertainment Network (led by TheOneAlliance team) to keep aside space on their networks for two channels by May-end- early-June. One of these according to MSOs is the movie channel which has been christened as MAX 2 while the other a GEC has not yet been given a name. It may even happen within 1 year as well if situation arises like current govt decides to call early elections or looses majority if coalition partners pull off support (which is less likely). So who could it be forming new govt? BJP or Congress? NDA or UPA? Narendra Modi or Rahul Gandhi? Sushma Swaraj or Manmohan Singh? Arun Jaitley or P. Chidambaram? What impact Arvind Kejriwal would have on these elections? And finally will any 3rd front succeed in forming govt at Centre?

Info on Total Installation charges for BSNL ULD 800 Plan?

I have requested for a BSNL Broadband + Landline on 5 Jan, 2014.

 

The next day a person visited my home and collected Rs 500 from me. He also took the application forms.

 

On 23 March 2014, the Landline was installed at my home. However they did not took any money. Now yesterday a man called me from BSNL and he said that he will be coming this week to install BSNL Broadband. He also told me to keep the Modem's money ready.

 

So what I want to ask you is -> How much money will I have to pay him when that man visits me for installation of Broadband. I will be buying a Wifi Modem from BSNL( whose price Rs 2100 according to BSNL website). 

 

Please help me.

Does it take 3 days to activate sim card?

After getting an Aircel prepaid sim card, I noticed that it does not allow me to call outside of India. Being a foreigner, it is important that I call my relatives/families. So I quickly decided to pursue Airtel. 

 

Once I given all the paperwork and documents, they notified me that it will take 3 business days to activate the sim card. I thought it was ridiculous since Aircel only took 5 minutes. When I asked why takes so long, they told me it was because the company needed to verify if the documents are genuine. 

 

Is this really how Airtel works?

MTS Mblaze wi-fi 999 (40GB plan), did I make wrong choice?

So I just bought the MTS Mblaze wi-fi (usb dongle) 999rs plan, getting 40gb with the package. I was excited because I thought I would get speeds of up to 9.8mpbps - heck even HALF at 4.9 was a good deal. Even 4mbps is passable, but having used it for 1.5-2 weeks now and the highest I've gotten (whether it's 3pm or 4am) is 3.2mbps. That's highest mind you. Average is like 1.8-2.4mbps. That is not what I expected, although the 40gb limit helps. 

 

I'm in Gurgaon, DLF Phase 2 and this is the issue I'm getting. Tata Photon get's me 4-5mbps (I have it for work, and only 4GB). Is it because MTS servers are overloaded? I really wanted a data stick with high speeds, high data for less than 2k. 999 was a bargain at the time, 'acclaimed' fast speeds, huge bandwidth for the price - but now it's becoming an issue. 

 

I was even playing Dota 2 last few days, where my ping fluctuates between 150 to 600, essentially ruining my game (I just played a game now, before I played I had a speedtest.net ping of 94 and dl speed of 2.7mbps, but the game was awful to play in). If I use the Tata, it doesn't do this, it's extremely annoying. Have I made the wrong choice? Is there an alternative? Should I complain.. again?

 

What experiences have you folks had?

Decrease in upload speed on MTNL

Has anyone noticed a decrease in the upload speed on MTNL. It has been like this for about 2 weeks now. Syncing things on Dropbox has become a major pain because of this. Earlier it used to be 550-600 kbps but now it's 25--280 kbps.

 

Also, I am noticing a strange thing on my Freedom 800 plan. The download speed that comes in night is variable, it's usually throttled at different points each time I restart the modem/router like [0.8 mbps, 1.1 mbps, 1.5 mbps, 2.0 mbps]
