Custom Plans on Airtel Broadband Posted: 03 Apr 2014 03:42 AM PDT Airtel called me today and said since I'd taken Smartbytes for 12gb last month, they wanted to offer 125 fup plan(80gb now) at the same speed(8mbps) for 50rs extra.   I also heard they are giving 3g at 2g rates in my area these days. Is airtel on a PR improving spree? Anyone got offers like this?

Post whatever you want, with just one condition that at least post something sensible that someone else would reply. Don't just post crap. Thread hijacking is totally allowed here. That being said, I'd like to post this. Today, while coming to office, I was listening to Radio Mirchi, and there the RJ was playing songs dedicated by the parents for their child(ren). There's one father who dedicated the song "Kajra Re" for his son. There's another father who dedicated the song "Dhoom Machale Dhoom" for his son. Now, after those two requests, there was one mother who dedicated the song "Jaadu Jaadu" for her daughter. Now we can see the real contrast in the choice of songs between the dads and the mom (or for the son and the daughter). What do you think which was it? Or does it indicate some kind of specific mentality?

Are you D.I.Y Type, Post Your Do-It-YourSelf type Hacks and mods you did Posted: 03 Apr 2014 03:18 AM PDT Broadbandforum certainly is a addiction I am having, so I was thinking what One thing I am missing here is the D.I.Y. stuff.   To start with me, I've a big bad itch of modding things, and my little obsessed by Electronics and L.E.D. lights are my weak point. I am irritatingly crazy about L.E.D. be it my work table, be it my bedroom, stairs,  my car, my 18 yrs old scooter,  my Laptop Chillpad, even my Kids Tri-Cycle has L.E.D. in it.   While I know this may not be of interest for everybody, but I am sure my fellow peers here must be having some kind of D.I.Y. skills in them. So please participate and post what you made in past or currently doing.     My Most Recent & Current D.I.Y stuff Includes   1). A L.E.D. Strobe Light made from PIC 12f629, flashes same way like we see in aircraft. (pics + video soon) 2). Made a PIC Programmer which works using Serial Port of desktop to burn Hex Code to the PIC (Programmable Integrated Circuit.) 3). Last night Made a USB Powered Very Bright Light consists of 2 x 1 watt White L.E.D. Runs off USB Port or mobile charger and is Blinding Bright. 4). Just finished a Serial Interface to RESET my konked Seagate Barracuda HDD which has firmware bug and will be trying it tomorrow night. (video soon). 5). Moded my kids' toy as it was Battery Hungry, no matter what I put into that Poh Engine, it exhausted battery within 30 mins, Now it has a 4V, 0.5Ah rechargable sunca easy to charge and runs far more than any damn re-chargeable battery out there. 6). Moded Netgear USB Wi-Fi Adapter to work with external Antenna. (yet to go to rooftop)   and around few hundred old mods thrown somewhere in house.   Pics from this Crazy Man    Toy Modified :-)     The PIC Programmer with 6V modification   The Serial Interface for connecting to HDD via hyper terminal, basically its just a interface to mod 12v based serial interface to 5v which is needed for HDD recovery.   The Awesome L.E.D. Light Good when you just need a few seconds on keyboard and regret that your laptop doesn't has a backlit keyboard.     Thought of lighting up keyboard, it lights up the enter desk and part of room.   (Imgur doesn't works without problems, so I've stopped using it.)     More to come soon.....

Well, if these images are to be believed, that's at least what happened to one bargain-hunting Windows Phone fan. The screenshots -- said to be taken from a Nokia 920 -- show Windows Phone 8, but with a few new tweaks and features. Most notable, will likely be the notifications, but other tidbits include App list ordering based on frequency of use, week view in the calendar and the option to kill apps from the multitask screen. The phone reports a build number of: 12084.WPMAIN(wpbldlab).20130509-1407 leading some to infer that this version could have been compiled sometime in May. A tease of something to come? Frequent Disconnection / ADSL blinking Issue on MTNL Broadband Posted: 03 Apr 2014 02:02 AM PDT Hi, I am a user of 849NU plan of MTNL Triband service since August based out of Navi Mumbai. All of August, i was very happy to have a lovely connection and good speeds, with a pretty good tariff. But now since the past 15 days I am suffering from very intermittent net connection. Although I am connected to the internet, sometimes the webpages take ages to open, and never open, while at other times it opens instantly. Also downloading has the same pattern, sometimes I get very good speeds of upto 200 Kbps, while other times there is no download. Although all download sites show good Triband Speed, but it is the intermittent connection that is the problem. This problem has crept up in the last 15 odd days, and I have tried everything but no change has been noticed. Has anyone else faced a similar problem, and if yes, whats the work around. The people at MTNL classify this as a slow connection problem, but that is exactly not the issue, as I do get good speeds intermittently. Somebody please help me.

Now i moved to bangalore where i am getting 4bars signal with RSSI of -79, but speed is only 700kbps. Does bsnl evdo get low speed while roaming or should i change any settings while in roaming to get good speed? Anyone plz help
