Unique Identification Authority of India (Aadhaar) Posted: 12 Mar 2014 02:30 AM PDT the govts plans to have a biometric national id cards for everyone by 2010.In usa the real id act is facing fierce resistance as 20 states have signed legislation opposition this as well in UK as groups like defyid and no2id.THis national id card makes india a police state, mass surveillance society and blurs the difference btw nazi germany and india. the supreme court has interpreted that we have the right to privacy which the national id card violates. Why isnt anyone doing to stop this.I contacted times of india ,cnn ibn, ndtv but got no reply?. we already have voter id card, passport, driver license, ration card, pan card(similar to social security card in us.).EVen is usa the ss card is not to be used as a id card.why do we need a chip card?the only thing that i can think is abut control and monitoring us. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multipurpose_National_Identity_Card_(India) once everyone has this card the govt can track your every move and switch your card if you resist or dissent. those who give up liberty for security neither deserve liberty nor security-Benjamin Franklin. the cons of having a national id card NO2ID:why not? videos http://broadbandforum.in/politics/33896-we-soon-get-our-national-id-card/3/#post315359 http://broadbandforum.in/politics/33896-we-soon-get-our-national-id-card/2/#post278474 http://broadbandforum.in/politics/33896-we-soon-get-our-national-id-card/5/#post315728 hacking http://broadbandforum.in/politics/33896-national-id-cards-india/8/#post325815 can we stop this? |

HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 3545 AIO Printer Posted: 12 Mar 2014 01:40 AM PDT Check HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 3545 AIO Printer Deals on: Flipkart | Amazon --- My aging HP Photosmart 8158 printer finally gave up yesterday and sister needs printer frequently now a days. I already had HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 3545 AIO Printer in mind. Finally bought it today for 6k from a known vendor who supplies computer products to our company. This printer retails at 6.7k on Flipkart, so this was an excellent deal. Some features mentioned below. [*]Wireless connectivity. [*]HP Ink Advantage cartridges (HP 678 Black and Color) [*]HP ePrint support. [*]Apple Airprint support. [*]HP Wireless Direct support. [*]Automatic print on both sides support. [*]Scan through web portal. [/list]Took a couple of prints and all were good enough. The automatic print on both sides amazed me as I have seen this only on high end laser printers. Scanned some old photos and it looks great too. Printouts fired from my mobile/tablet works fine using the native print support in android 4.4 but the print comes comparatively slower which is probably because it prints on 'Normal' or 'Best' mode and in mobile I couldn't find an option to toggle this. Overall a pretty solid printer for the price. ![]() |
Keeping mobile phone number active while abroad Posted: 12 Mar 2014 01:27 AM PDT I need to stay abroad, sometimes for a few months and would like to keep my prepaid number active during that period. I am currently on Vodafone and was told by the seller that currently we need to make some usage (outgoing call, SMS, data) every 45 days. I also had gone to Airtel and they said that the usage time was 30 days !! Last I heard the TRAI regulation was 90 days.
So any clarifications would help. Will also report back how my experience is with Voda prepaid and whether I am able to keep it "alive". |

Funny Videos, Images and Jokes Posted: 11 Mar 2014 11:37 PM PDT MS staff There was a pilot flying a small single engine charter plane, with a couple of very important executives on board. He was coming into Seattle airport through thick fog with less than 10m visibility when his instruments went out. So he began circling around looking for landmark. After an hour or so, he starts running pretty low on fuel and the passengers are getting very nervous. Finally, a small opening in the fog appears and he sees a tall building with one guy working alone on the fifth floor. The pilot banks the plane around, rolls down the window and shouts to the guy "Hey! Where am I?" To this, the solitary office worker replies "You're in a plane." The pilot rolls up the window, executes a 275 degree turn and proceeds to execute a perfect blind landing on the runway of the airport 5 miles away. Just as the plane stops, so does the engine as the fuel has run out. The passengers are amazed and one asks how he did it. "Simple" replies the pilot, "I asked the guy in that building a simple question. The answer he gave me was 100 percent correct but absolutely useless, therefore that must be Microsoft's support office and from there the airport is just a while away." __________________________________________________________ Is Windows a virus? Bad experience buying a new Voda SIM with m-Pesa Posted: 11 Mar 2014 11:32 PM PDT Recently bought a new 3G SIM from Vodafone. When asked about the price, they said it would be 215 with 99 talktime. On detailed questioning they said that m-Pesa comes kind of connected with this SIM, so there is no way currently to buy a SIM without it and it has Rs 100 one time activation charge. I did not need m-Pesa, however since I needed the SIM kind of urgently and did not know of another Voda shop nearby I just had to buy that.
Later on chatting with Voda care, they said it is not necessary to get an m-Pesa account with a new SIM. I think I also saw that guy pushing this BS service to others that day and one of his seniors telling him to get more m-Pesa subscribers because his senior had told him so !
So i think it was just a ploy to get 100 from subscribers by lying to them if necessary. It might be a good service for those who need it, but should not be forced on those who don't.
Just wanted to make people more aware of this, so that they don't fall into the same trap. |

Posted: 11 Mar 2014 10:14 PM PDT The time has come for me to change my CPU. So want your suggestions in my budget to the best configuration available. My usage is going to be only browsing, downloading, YouTube and Minecraft. Not more. I don't have much clue about the configuration required for CPUs but I think I'll want about 500GBs of hard drive and decent internals. Also, a 64 bit Windows(7 or 8?). Any suggestions as to the RAM, Motherboard, Processor, HDD, DVD drives, power unit, Cage, Graphics Card, etc? I want this CPU to last me about 6 years, like my current one did. Budget is around 15-20K. Plus if my old CPU sells, I'll add that here too. |

So often, we have some random thought or point to make/discuss , and I personally sometimes skip it as I feel it is not worthy of a new thread & feel its unfair to hijack an existing thread... Would recommend creating new thread for any big news & as usual we have threads for specific series/tournaments.. This is for something general random posts related to cricket...Kind of the Cricket Offtopic thread... Will start with one post ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Misbah & Taibu seem to competing with each other for the prize of who can bat more defensively.... ---------- After beating NZ in the 3rd ODI with a draing chase... Now Zimbabwe are on verge on possibly upsetting them in the Only Test... 116 needed in 34 Overs (Incl mandatory Overs) with the new ball just taken |

gender division in two opposites is grave mistake Posted: 11 Mar 2014 10:35 AM PDT some excerpts from man is the extension of woman by Dr. Makarand Fulzele........ ..External genitalia - labia fuse to scrotum and the clitoris extends to become a penis. The ovaries and testicles are basically same. But one is exposed to certain temperature for a particular period to grow into ovaries. Whereas testicles are cooled within time to maintain their integrity. To put it into scientific language, all humans are females to start with. Some develop further to become male. Man or woman is born. At puberty fully grown man or woman develops libido. At menopause, both female and male) estrogen or testosterone resources are finished and physical changes towards opposite gender start appearing. `So our life also runs in circle. We start at birth and then from infancy, become young. Then a full-grown woman or man is developed. One lifetime is consumed. The menopause is reached towards the end of the life. At this juncture man or woman is getting converted into the opposite sex. Before the changes are too prominent to be ignored, the man or woman is dead. They go to the grave with the secret!' |

MTS 3G PLUS - EVDO REV.B vs. AirTel LTE 4G Posted: 11 Mar 2014 08:23 AM PDT Hi Guys Checkout the MTS 3G PLUS speedtest in Bangalore. The connection seems to be extremely reliable and Stable. In my opinion, MTS is performing much better than AirTel 4G in Bengaluru. 850 Mhz penetration inside buildings is brilliant. EVDO REV.B UPGRADE (A.K.A 3G PLUS IN INDIA)
MTS should add 1 more carrier of 1.25Mhz to achieve 14 Mbps, instead of just 9 Mbps. I'm waiting for Support from DFS CDMA Team to Flash my Ipad Air sprint CDMA (without using a SIM card) Reliance RCOM has taken the wrong path in opting for HSPA+ technology with CA (carrier aggregation) They could have upgraded the existing CDMA network to EVDO rev.B by adding carriers. |
