| ACT Broadband Bangalore Reviews Posted: 05 Feb 2014 03:09 AM PST Hello Readers, My name is Vivek Sinha Anurag and i am going to post some "great" work shown by Act Broadband. I applied for ACT Broadband 5 Mbps plan [its having cap value of 35GB after that speed will reduce to 256 kbps] by calling their customer care on 16th Aug 2011. I was surprised to see their lightening fast response as the representative came to my doorstep the very next day and on 17th Aug 2011 Mr Ashitt O.S. collected the money and documents and told me that withing 5 days i will get my connection and i even got sms confirmation that my request no is 142263. Now the real story started. Even after 6 days no one ever bothered to check my request so i called customer care [ 080-42840000] to remind them and i was told that i will get it withing next 2 days. I waited for next 2 days and called them again. I was surprised to learn a new technical term from them that they are "Uploading network" hence its taking time and soon i will get my connection. Since my work was getting affected because of their delay i applied for a BSNL connection too. Now today is 5th September and i am still waiting for the connection and to my surprise i got the BSNL broadband last week. I tried escalating this matter and asked the customer care for any high level contact and they said that i need to mail helpdesk@acttv.in. I emailed them but i got no response. Please note some points regarding ACT broadband before applying ACT broadband 1. They dont have nodal officer/appellate authority [against TRAI rules and i have already escalated this matter to TRAI officials with the help of pgportal.gov.in] 2. They have a customer base of 2500 users in bangalore and they are not able to manage even this small number. 3. They DO NOT PROVIDE STATIC IP [even if they claim to do so] 4. Their customer care service is useless. All you will losse is your balance by talking to them 5. They can "Upload network" [You can imagine the understanding capability of their technicians] 6. They are fast in collecting money but lazy in delivering service Final conclusion: To be on safe side stay away from them else you will suffer like me. Morning shows the day and even before using their service i am suffering. Don't know what will happen when i get the connection and i face any problem that time. |

logged couple of tickets with act, and they call me up saying it was a server issue and it was resolved, but the problem started today again.. Right now I'm able to open google and facebook only, other pages refuse to load up....

| Wifi not connecting on Mobile phone Posted: 05 Feb 2014 01:01 AM PST I have a MTNL wifi router, I am unable to connect to wifi on my mobile phone, both android as well as iphone, however the wifi connects to the laptop and works fine.
I have tried all possible solutions, like resetting the router, factory resetting the phone but the problem remains unresolved.
Does anybody knows a solution to the problem? Pls help

| Please HELP Fast new victim of BSNL EVDO :( Posted: 04 Feb 2014 11:54 PM PST Hi, Today i have purchased bsnl evdo modem(prithvi and ruim sim) from bsnl........I have read on the website that when a new user purchase modem from bsnl they give him first month unlimited data in 350rs......but they did not give me unlimited data at this price......they told me to recharge of 20rs for validity and the 800rs something for unlimited monthly pack.........they told me that i have filled 750rs pack in form they provided me.......I told him that bsnl give unlimited to new user for 350rs......they said its called general plan and told me that you have not asked for it...............now i have to pay extra 500rs even i am new evdo user........i have not recharged in my sim yet....it will activate tonight...........please tell me what to do can i still get unlimited in 350rs.................if not then tell me if i return them data card then would they give me security fees back which is 1199rs ...........or they will not give or deduct some amount.........please tell me i am robbed by bsnl |

| Using the Dlink 2750u as a true Ethernet WAN router Posted: 04 Feb 2014 10:16 PM PST I'd actually already posted on how to use the Dlink 2750u as a full fledged Ethernet WAN router, but it was a few pages deep in a Tikona thread and some users were getting the actual method mixed up with workarounds posted earlier in that thread.
The 2750u is actually capable of both adsl and Ethernet WAN routing. However the Indian firmware only enables the adsl WAN. So one needs to use the Middle East (ME) firmware to enable the Ethernet WAN function (with the ME firmware one can use adsl, ethernet or 3g WAN). Please check the label under your router to identify the specific hardware version and apply the firmware that corresponds to it. Warning: You may brick your router if you apply the wrong firmware. Presently ME firmware is available for C1 and U1 versions. Here are the links

In the latest firmware, I'm having a problem getting my 3g dongle to work, which is why I've posted both versions. Once the firmware has been changed to the ME type, one can easily switch between versions using the software update page and one can choose which version works best for them.

Applying the firmware
The firmware may not be accepted in the normal firmware update mode. Then you'll need to update it in the dlink crash recovery mode using a LAN cable (not wirelessly). Assign a static address on the PC for the ethernet interface in the 192.168.1.x series for eg 192.168.1.5
Switch router off, press the reset button ie insert ballpoint pen in reset hole under the router, keep holding the reset button and turn on the router. Keep holding the reset button for about 12 seconds after you power on the router. Now you'll see that the power led has turned red signifying that the router is in crash recovery mode. When you enter the address 192.168.1.1 on your PC browser, you find the upgrade firmware page. Just browse to the downloaded firmware file and flash!
After the new firmware has been flashed, your internet connection will not start working automatically, you will also need to set up the router correctly. Please do not apply any workarounds mentioned in other threads such as interface grouping, disabling DHCP etc Instructions for setting up the C1 hw version router
Step 1: Log into your router and under Advanced setup->Layer2 interface->ETH interface create an Ethernet interface with connection mode as default. Then go to Advanced setup->WAN Service and add service for eth0/LAN4.
Step2: If you have an internet connection with pppoe dialing such as pacenet, Honesty etc, in the next page, choose pppoe and put in username, password and service name in the next page. Also choose to enable NAT. In the next page move eth0 from available to selected gateway interface (if it's not already in selected) and remove ppp0 (if present) from selected, in the next page do the same for DNS and finally apply/save
Step2 (alt): If you have a connection such as Tikona, Reliance metro, cable internet etc, in the next page choose ip over ethernet, in the next page let the setting remain at Obtain an IP address automatically, in the next page check option to enable NAT, in the next page move eth0 from available to selected gateway interface (if it's not already in selected) and remove ppp0 (if present) from selected, in the next page do the same for DNS and finally apply/save
Step3: Then in advanced setup - 3g connection select primary uplink as ethernet.
Now connect your internet cable to the LAN port 4 of the router and you should be able to connect through any device connected through wifi or any of the other LAN ports. If you have a connection with a browser login such as Reliance metro or Tikona, the login page will show up only on the first device that you connect in each session. After you have logged in on any device, all other devices will have internet connectivity without going through the login page.
Instructions for setting up the U1 hw version router
In Internet setup, set WAN access type to Ethernet and in protocol, choose dynamic ip for connection such as Tikona, Reliance metro, cable boradband etc and choose pppoe if you have a pppoe dialer based connection such as pacenet, honesty net solutions etc. |

There's one father who dedicated the song "Kajra Re" for his son. There's another father who dedicated the song "Dhoom Machale Dhoom" for his son. Now, after those two requests, there was one mother who dedicated the song "Jaadu Jaadu" for her daughter. Now we can see the real contrast in the choice of songs between the dads and the mom (or for the son and the daughter). What do you think which was it? I installed BSNL BB with Combo ULD 800.
AS per plan speed should be max. 1mbps upto 6gb. But i am getting 1.6mbps speed as per speed test (measured on speedtest.net). How it can be possible. Can any 1 answer??????????????????????????????????????????????
BSNL has taken 2 month to install Landline but bb installation is very quick (2 days after application).
Till now i am satisfied. I am in Vadodara, Gujarat region.
You ppl also can share your experience for this plan and BSNL service. |
