ACT Broadband Bangalore Reviews Posted: 03 Feb 2014 03:07 AM PST Hello Readers, My name is Vivek Sinha Anurag and i am going to post some "great" work shown by Act Broadband. I applied for ACT Broadband 5 Mbps plan [its having cap value of 35GB after that speed will reduce to 256 kbps] by calling their customer care on 16th Aug 2011. I was surprised to see their lightening fast response as the representative came to my doorstep the very next day and on 17th Aug 2011 Mr Ashitt O.S. collected the money and documents and told me that withing 5 days i will get my connection and i even got sms confirmation that my request no is 142263. Now the real story started. Even after 6 days no one ever bothered to check my request so i called customer care [ 080-42840000] to remind them and i was told that i will get it withing next 2 days. I waited for next 2 days and called them again. I was surprised to learn a new technical term from them that they are "Uploading network" hence its taking time and soon i will get my connection. Since my work was getting affected because of their delay i applied for a BSNL connection too. Now today is 5th September and i am still waiting for the connection and to my surprise i got the BSNL broadband last week. I tried escalating this matter and asked the customer care for any high level contact and they said that i need to mail helpdesk@acttv.in. I emailed them but i got no response. Please note some points regarding ACT broadband before applying ACT broadband 1. They dont have nodal officer/appellate authority [against TRAI rules and i have already escalated this matter to TRAI officials with the help of pgportal.gov.in] 2. They have a customer base of 2500 users in bangalore and they are not able to manage even this small number. 3. They DO NOT PROVIDE STATIC IP [even if they claim to do so] 4. Their customer care service is useless. All you will losse is your balance by talking to them 5. They can "Upload network" [You can imagine the understanding capability of their technicians] 6. They are fast in collecting money but lazy in delivering service Final conclusion: To be on safe side stay away from them else you will suffer like me. Morning shows the day and even before using their service i am suffering. Don't know what will happen when i get the connection and i face any problem that time. |
Posted: 03 Feb 2014 03:07 AM PST I am having SBI Visa Debit Card. I normally use it for online shopping. But now I have forgotten 3D Secure password, I assigned to it. Worst case is that, bank gateway is not accepting the security answer while changing password. I contacted local branch and those guys told that they don't have any link to deal with passwords of debit cards.
What to do now ? |

Posted: 02 Feb 2014 11:54 PM PST Saw the first episode. Did not like it much. But it has Tim Roth and just two more episodes so what the heck. ![]() What a sad show ![]() About the show... Robb Stark looks and acts like Robb Stark. Scenes involving him would confuse you for a while as you would start imagining it to be a scene out of Game of Thrones. The voiceovers would remind you of Sons of Anarchy because the voice is quite similar to that of Jax Teller. Meeker is my favorite character on the show which makes me sad about the ending. |

SUN TV HD Will be added in TS? Posted: 02 Feb 2014 11:44 PM PST Anybody know when SUN TV HD will be added into TataSky. Long time, we do not see any new addition of channels in Tamil and Tatasky is much more concentrating on Telugu alone. The highest number of Regional channels that lies with Telugu pack only. Not sure what is the reason behind. It is been 3 Years Tatasky stopped adding new tamil Channels. They may be feeling they have done enough for tamil viewers. Worst case, they added Udaya Comedy in Kannada Pack., but no news for tamil subscribers. Leave it, if they can not add any more new channels. At least they can add SUN TV HD as they started their HD broadcast few months ago. |

BSNL-BB ModemUT Starcom WA3002G1 modem-some websites refused to open. Posted: 02 Feb 2014 10:13 PM PST I am using BB modem wa3002g1 Type 2 modem from 2007 onwards,my data plan is 600Home combo having 2.5Mbps plan and getting 1.75MBps speed.MY problem is some sites refused to open ex 123greetings.com,mail.yahoo.co.in and iciciprulife.com,zoomin.com and so on.I did all the remedies given in this forum like TCP optimization, dns flushing, going for open dns and google dns etc. After trying this ,still the problem persists.Having the latest versions for Firefox19,google chrome 23.0.1271.95 and IE9 as browsers and default browser is firfox19.0.2.OS is Win 7 ultimate and anti virus is win security essential.Everything is updated when ever ther is updates available. The only settings changed is in modem configuration.Once,in 2010,modem adsl led indicator didnot light up for somedays showing no internet connectivity.I took it to bsnl customer care centre and they told that modem is out of order and i have to change the modem .i purchased a new modem on rent and got internet connectivity.i copied the configuration settings of rented modem to my old modem which is out of order as told by Bsnl.I applid the settings to my old modem and it begins to work and still it works todate. The chang is in ADSL modulation from ADSL2+ to G-DMT. when this setting is reversed, there is no internet connectivity and no ADSL indicator LED and modem is not working. Can any body suggest remedies to overcome this problem and about not opening of certain websites. But when i connected to internet thru my mobile to PC net connection, samsung model having 2g connection these websites opens normaly,,taking time to load due to low speed. That shows there is no problem with the system OS or browsers or settings. What may be the problem.Kindly provide solutions for this .MTU value is 1500 as suggested by TCP optimizer from Speedguide.ne ADSL firmware version. Poor Service from YOU in Chennai Posted: 02 Feb 2014 09:26 PM PST I've had the worst experience with YOU broadband service in Chennai. Ive been using YOU broadband for the past six months. Sharing with you the troubles I have faced so far, so that no one has to undergo the same sufferings..
First I opted for a 3 month -10mbps speed, once it reached the download limit of 30Gb the speed was so pathetic, even airtel 2g connection would load a page bit quicker than YOU broadband. Complaints about it went unheard, we normally get a good response from Call centre guys but the backend team(call centre guys calls them so) doesn't even turn up to solve the request.
After this bad experience I went for a 1 month - 12mbps connection speed, I had a good speed initially but then as reported in this forum the speed will go down during day hours and pick up only around night hours. Raising complaints about it didn't fix the issue, but I will receive a message alone from YOU saying "your problem is resolved..." as these guys have to solve the complaint within certain days. So they seem to close the request without even attending it.
Last month was so horrible with YOU. I had a complete outage for 10 days, during which I would call every day to follow up on the request, inspite of my busy days in office. I would have called their call centre guys around 20 - 25 times...everytime i was assured that the issue will be fixed but nothing would happen or no one will turn up. Finally on 11th day of continuous calling the issue was fixed. Now I started calling them to credit those 10 days into my account, they took the request and they closed it without even solving, I again raised two more complaints like that, still they were not ready to credit those days. Then after feeling enough is enough, i asked them to discontinue their services, and that request was resolved immediately. They are ready to loose a customer but not ready to add those 10 days into my account.
I reside in Thiruvanmiyur area of Chennai. Please seriously reconsider if you are opting to choose YOU BB - VERY POOR SERVICE & SPEED IS SLOW DURING DAY HOURS.
Please share your experiences with YOU in Chennai.
Regards, Amar |

Bangalore HSR Layout Broadband Tragedy Posted: 02 Feb 2014 07:09 PM PST I have been staying in Bangalore's HSR layout since the last 6 years. I was staying in Sector-2 for two years where I was using Tata Indicom Broadband. Then I moved to an apartment where we had airtel broadband, for two years. Now I have moved to a sector-3, near the HSR Club in HSR Layout and my hunt for a new broadband connection has been an utter tragedy. I first went to airtel, who, within 3 days, told me that there is no feasibility for connection in the area. I then, with a lot of hopes, went to the telephone exchange where I was told that there is no feasibility for connection in the HSR Layout area as BBMP has not allowed BSNL to dig up the area for laying new cables. Next I went to Tata Indicom, who took 10 days to tell me that there is no technical feasibility in the area to provide a new connection. I am left completely baffled at this. I am staying in a prime location in HSR Layout only to find that there is no way I can get broadband? I am left with very few options now. For now, I am using an USB dongle (Reliance Netconnect). There are advertisement bills stick on electric poles for Tikona Broadband and TTN broadband. I have googled about Tikona and TTN and my perception is that they are a waste of money and time. The only option left is to go for the latest and overpriced Airtel LTE 4G broadband. Equipment for it alone costs Rs.8000 and I am not in a mood to spend that much amount (Airtel representative who sells LTE told me that it's the stuff for people who own Audi and Benz). Can someone here please suggest me something? I use moderate downloading (Maybe 10-12 GB per month?) and I have always had broadband. i don't know what to do as i am going to stay in this new house for at least a year. Please advice! |

Which broadband is available in HSR Layout 1st Sector Bangalore Posted: 02 Feb 2014 05:47 PM PST I'm going to move to HSR Layout 1st Sector in the following week. I contacted Airtel and unfortunately they don't have network feasibility here. This absolutely surprises me to know that Airtel still don't have their network in one of the prime residential places of Bangalore. To be honest I searched all over the internet to know what all ISPs are available and there are not many. I heard of TTN network as most used broadband here in 1st Sector, but all over the internet its users are down voting and cursing it.
I hope this is my last resort to ask this question on broadband forum, if anyone is staying here in 1st Sector, do you know what all ISPs are available here? If you've heard of TTN Network, is it really that horrible as its users say?
I'm really internet starved and frustrated to my depths, this is my new home and they still don't have Airtel here. I can't stay alive on shitty Airtel 3G and expensive 4G anymore . Lord knows what the hell is taking so much time. |
