How Tikona Cheats its customers

I have a 4Mbps unlimited connection from Tikona. The fair usage policy states that till 80GB usage, I am supposed to get a speed of 4Mbps
My billing cycle starts on the 26th of every month. I periodically check my usage using the tool they provide on their self care portal
On the 24th of this month, I noticed that my speed had drastically dropped to 1000Kbps.
I spoke with an agent called Saili who did all the logical troubleshooting steps and confirmed that there was no issue either with their network or with my rooftop device. Then she found out that my connection had been moved to secondary usage since I had used my 80Gb allocation. Their tool told me that I had used approximately 72GB and not 80GB. When I insisted on speaking with a senior person, she made Omar call me
I spoke with Omar at 9:30 AM on the 24th morning. After spending 5 to 10 minutes in explaining how the policy works, he admitted that there was a mistake from their side. He confirmed that the usage reported by their site was corrected. He offered to get it corrected

On the 25th morning at 1AM I found that the connection was still very slow - the same 600Kbps range. I called their care number and spoke with their agent Rahul. This guy was sharp to point out quickly that my connection was in the secondary stage. He also confirmed that no corrective action was taken after I spoke with Omar almost 15 hours earlier. He offered to get it rectified in 24 hours. I knew that this was meaningless since my billing cycle would start within that time and I would get my 4Mbps connection.

I wanted to speak with his manager and got the standard reply - no manager on floor. All seniors are busy. He offered to get some one call me

I was pissed off and mailed Prakash Bajpai - their chairman

 

"Mr. Prakash

Since the 24th morning, I noticed that my network connection was very slow - averaging around 600 to 700Kbps.

After the regular troubleshooting like disconnecting / reconnecting the POE, clearing cookies, clearing browsing history, safe mode with networking, etal, I spoke with an agent of yours in the morning

a) At 9AM - 24th Jan - I had a max download speed of 1008 Kbps, upload of 486 Kbps, ping latency of 18 ms and absolutely no packet loss. I spoke with a lady called Saili. After placing me on hold a number of times she came to tell me that my connection was switched to a secondary status since I had crossed my fair usage policy. She had to place me on hold two more times to 1) tell me what plan I was on and 2) to tell me my fair usage policy of 80GB. Since she did not know what she was talking about I asked her to get me her senior
B) Umar called me at 9:30AM. He took a long time to explain how the fair usage policy works and ultimately accepted that I had not crossed the 80GB mark - according to him and your tools, I had used 72GB between 18:30 hrs on the 25th of December and the 23rd of January. He said that he would get the issue rectified immediately
c) This morning at 1:25 I called Rahul since I was getting a speed of 696Kbps with a latency of 23ms and no packet loss. He probably went through the previous case notes since he was quick to point out that I had crossed the fair usage policy. When I questioned him, he also placed me on hold twice before coming back to confirm that I had not crossed the 80GB mark. He said that it takes 24 hours to rectify a mistake that your systems created.
d) I have attached 2 Excel sheets generated by your tool that allows me to download session history details.
e) The table that I have attached, clearly says that the plan was switched to 4096Kbps secondary at 00:44 hrs on the 24th even without me crossing the 80GB mark

I want some one from your office to call me latest by 9:30AM this morning ( 24 hours since I spoke with Umar ) to explain why this mistake was created, why it was not rectified even 16 hours after bringing it to your notice, what you propose to do with your L2 who was not able to keep his commitment and how you plan to compensate the user

Because of this speed issue, my daughter had to request her friend use a non-Tikona connection at her house and record a video lecture that she needed for her exams next week

For your information, I have voice recordings of the 2 calls I made Tikona and the call that Umar made"

 

Promptly at 6PM that evening Prateesh called to tell me that they were investigating and would have an answer in 2 days. I reminded him that his investigations would not help me since the speed would go back to 4Mbps in the next 6 hours when my current billing cycle starts

 

On the 28th of Jan Pranathi called to say that they were still investigating - by that time, I believe that the jokers felt that I would be sitting there biting my nails in anticipation of their master sleuthing.

 

Today Prateesh called to inform me with all pompousness that they completed their investigation and found that the fair usage policy was indeed applied and my connection switched to secondary only after I used my quota of 80GB

 

Either Prateesh was telling lies or Omar AND Rahul AND their tool was telling lies

 

The only reason for posting this complaint here is to tell all prospective Tikona customers to stay away from such cheats

TIKONA says no gb restrictions

BE CAREFUL Their Post FUP speeds are dismally low

Fixed flat post FUP speed which is much less than airtel/reliance

 

DONT EVER OPT for TIKONA

BSNL New Plans 4 mbps Speed Test (AP Circle)

So as today is 1st Feb 2014, BSNL have upgraded all the plans for AP Circle

 

I am on 650 UL plans which gave me 2 mbps UL till 10 GB and then 512 kbps after FUP

 

Now they have revised to 4 mbps till 25 GB and then 1 mbps after FUP

 

Getting decent pings however speed is ok

Blackout of channels by MSO

Viewers in bangalore are facing black out of channels by MSO  effective today for those who have not submitted CAF to LCO.

 

Hoping that channels would be restored by evening as per the update given to me by LCO.

 

 

Isit mandatory to replace STB or the lock will be opened by MSO so we can continue with OLD STB ?

Walt Disney Pictures is developing a live-action/CG adaptation of the classic cartoon "Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers," says The Hollywood Reporter. According to the trade, the studio has picked up a pitch by commercials director Robert Rugan for a movie to be produced by Mandeville Films/TV.

Mandeville is the Disney-based production company run by David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman that is also behind the studio's "Muppets" franchise.

Created by Tad Stones and Alan Zaslove, the series aired on The Disney Channel from 1989 to 1990 (a preview episode aired on August 27, 1988). It featured Chip 'n' Dale along with their friends Gadget Hackwrench, Zipper and Monterey Jack as they faced off against some of the most outrageous villains the world has ever seen.

Mandeville's Alexander Young is overseeing the project and will executive produce.

Hi guys,
I wanted to ask that i just got my reliance braodband today but i use my PC for gaming i bought a N150 wireless classic router i want to use Wifi on my Android mobile and on PC i will use the router with wire no problem with that but my configure not working when i use it through router but when i directly connect Reliance RJ45 cable to PC it works but whenever i try to use it with router it don't work it but sometimes it works with router too so can someone help me configure it please i am really going crazy over this please help guys :)

Spectranet FOX

recently i got this spectranet connection. They did underground fiber optic cabling and started the service called spectranet FOX in my area. the plan is 12 to 16 mbps  for 6 months. looking at the speeds they will provide, i got my airtel BB service discontinued.

 

I AM HIGHLY DISSATISFIED WITH THE CONNECTION.

 

 1) promised speeds 12-16 mbps ,you never get the promised speeds throughout the day. even right now i am getting just 3-5 mbps.

     why do ISPs do this? come on! if you dont want to give constant speeds then why the hell do you have to make false promises?

when they visit your home for a demonstration, such good marketing skills, overselling their product, promising this and that. 

but when it comes to the connection, its very poor.

 

2) its a daily glitch in the connection. from timings 9 pm to 12 pm i always get very low speeds like 1 mbps and very high pings touching 200 ms. i've got to play online games , but with such a pathetic ping im not able to play the games properly. and this is very irritating!

and this happens everyday

 

3) when i had the airtel connection i used to watch alot of youtube, surf internet and the data limit was 8 gb. with these activities not even half of my data limit was used, and around 4-5 gb was left unused per month.seldom, i used to download movies because once the data limit was reached, then speed degraded to 256kpbs(reason to change spectranet ISP). using this connection, in last 1 week the 5 gb of data usage has been shown in my spectranet account(5gb data volume used)

i myself have downloaded around 700mb of data THAT'S IT! i can accept even if i had watched 1080p HD videos on youtube, i could accept that i could've consumed data but still cant find what has used 5gb. if it could've been a theft over wi-fi, but whenever i am at home i connect through LAN cable and switch of the wifi service and whenever im not at home i switch off the router. then how come 5 gb of data has been consumed?! and i cant buy this fact that ONLY net surfing at watching videos on youtube would've consumed so much of data. i really find that spectranet is a cheat on this part. 

 

if someone using the same net plans from spectranet and facing the same issues please reply and put forward some solutions to my problem, so as how to get the promised service from my ISP.

MTNL has introduced truly Unlimited 3G Postpaid plan in Mumbai circle. Postpaid 3G data plan of Rs 1650 which was earlier offering 50GB 3G data usage has been revised to offer Unlimited 3G data usage . The revised 3G plan is available from 1st Dec'13 for its customers in Mumbai. Interestingly this revision has not been carried out in prepaid segment and prepaid pack of Rs 1650 will continue to offer 50GB with 30 days validity.

Speed slowdown after 9pm...

I have Hathway connection in Vadodara, 4mbps plan.

 

Now, I have had some disconnection and slowness issues.

 

But what I have consistently noticed over the last 3 days is that the speeds are decent/fine in the afternoon/evenings, but somewhere around 10pm they drop from 3mbps around to 0.5-1.25mbps.

 

Any ideas?

 i just shifted from spectranet to reliance broadband for 2mbps plan

 

iam getting downloadin speed of 110-120kb/s (which i think is  a bit slow as compare to 2mbps plan )
