It disconnects net after 15-20 m. and does not connect if i try to reconnect it......It takes around 1/2 hour to connect again. I am not happy with internet service provided by docomo... i called customer care but they say that problem with my phone.... i am using same phone from past 2 years and for 1 year docomo net was running flawlessly. and now they say problem in my phone....WTF is this.... my mob no is : 8793860050 my email id:- rohangore5@gmail.com |

| Dlink 2750U to Hathway Docsis 3.0 Cable Modem - Wireless Access Posted: 31 Jan 2014 01:45 AM PST Hi,
I have just subscribed to a new Hathway Docsis 3.0 plan. Its working fine when i am plugging in the Cat5 cable directly into a laptop. Getting speeds of 38Mbps.
I am trying to configure my existing Dlink 2750U to enable wifi access for this connection. I have tried virtually all the options suggested on this and other similar forums.
quick summary of options tried
1) Using group Interface option suggest on a Trikona BB forum 2) Flashed Dlink to ME firmware to setup ethernet interface 3) Directly plugging laptop and modem to Dlink router ports and disabling DHCP server functionality in the router
So far i have been able to get internet through the wired connection from Dlink (i.e. Dlink is wired to Hathway cable modem and laptop is wired to Dlink).
However once i do that i am unable to connect through the wireless. My android phone keeps alternating between obtaining ip; Authenticating and poor internet connection avoided. I also tried to force it to connect by aping all IP settings as pulled automatically when connecting laptop through wired network.
I suspect the issue maybe one of these (or something altogether different)
1) Unlike the wired connection; my android phone is unable to obtain IP/DNS settings when connecting through wifi 2) Something to do with MAC ( less likely - as i have no login requirement whatsoever) 3) DNS: I suspect this might be the biggest issue. i have tried to hard code DNS into both laptop/router but doesnt seem to help
Will really appreciate it if someone can help me resolve this.

| Airtel Broadband likely to soon offer 512kbps post FUP on all plans Posted: 31 Jan 2014 12:18 AM PST It seems finally Airtel is coming back to it's senses,they have decided to increases post FUP speed to 512 Kbps across all plans which will come into effect from 29th November.Just few days ago I saw a thread here mentioning the increase in speed to 512 kbps in Jaipur,I got excited and called the Customer Care just to inquire the same(i also wanted a PLAN CHANGE)..I think there is still a need to Increase their quota GB's of data provided in their initial plans.I was on 2 Mbps 10 GB FUP RS 700+taxes(100 calls free),I shifted to 1299+taxes with 15 GB( 8 Mbps) data and 1000 local calls free.I am not a heavy downloaded,my bandwidth usage is somewhere between 20-25 GB per months with a decent usage of phone so that plan suits well to me.
I just hope they should increase their FUP speed to at least 1 Mbps,specially in their high end plans!! |
| DOCOMO's 3G service is a BIG joke Posted: 31 Jan 2014 12:16 AM PST I just can't understand how DOCOMO managed to obtain 3G license with such pathetic 3G services. Their voice service is quite good, so no complaints about that. But DOCOMO's 3G service is almost non-existent in Karnataka (no idea about other circles).
My first issue is this ridiculous '40-minute auto disconnection' feature. I contacted customer care several times regarding this issue, but they always gave unsatisfactory responses. Finally when I sought customer support through online chat, a representative just copy-pasted the following:- "We would like to inform you that we always strive to offer high quality services and connectivity to our esteemed subscribers. With an objective to avoid the discomfort to our subscribers due to bill shock at the end of billing tenure or excess balance deduction, the internet/GPRS session is designed to get disconnected after 40 minutes of session. This way we help you to avoid any excessive charges due internet usage abuse and GPRS/Internet session kept live ignorantly." High quality services and connectivity? What a joke! The inside-secret is the DOCOMO's 3G infrastructure is so damn pathetic, so they have only a small number of connectivity slots available. When all these slots are filled by users, then new users will be unable to connect. Hence they have introduced this 40-minute auto disconnection, so that others users also get a chance to connect. They cleverly say it is to avoid 'bill shock', but everyone knows that it is just a lie. My company reimburses my 3G data costs, and I often need to make video calls exceeding their stupid 40 minute limit. Also, I don't understand this logic of 'bill shock' for people who have subscribed to a data pack.
The second issue is also connected to the first problem I mentioned. Due to DOCOMO's abysmal 3G infrastructure, it takes several attempts (usually 8 to 10 attempts) to connect to the internet at 3G speed. I contacted customer care for several months, but they failed to resolve this issue. Whenever I mention the issue, their common question was "What error message you get?". They don't even have the common sense to know that smartphones don't display any error messages. Only old Java handsets display those error messages. When I telll this to them, they say "how can we help you without knowing the error message?". Then they tell me to change APN settings, reinsert sim card, try the sim in a different handset etc., but nothing works. Finally, they just sent this stupid copy-paste response during online chat:- "We would like to inform you that regarding the issue of GPRS we at Tata Docomo always strive to introduce products that are in sync with Customer requirements while ensuring that such products provide optimum value against the amounts spent by our esteemed customers. Such products, especially the data/internet usage products are dependent on various factors for accessibility and continuity, some of these factors being in our control and others beyond some factors beyond our control, but which hugely and adversely impact data usage can impact on the network and signal strength and therefore affect connection speeds/ continuity. At peak times when many people are using the network, connection speeds, and quality suffers. Also as with any network based on radio technology, handset quality or local conditions may prevent or interfere with network reception within coverage areas. However we do understand and regret the fact, that you have not had a favorable experience with the said product. For any assistance mail us at listen at tatadocomo .com" As I mentioned previously, the reason for this is that DOCOMO's limited number of connectivity slots are almost always filled by other users, so I'm unable to connect until a slot becomes free. This is totally ridiculous.
Finally, the biggest problem. After repeated attempts to get my issues resolved with no results, they suggested me to write to the appellate officer(appellate.kk@tatadocomo.com). I did that, and got an automated reply within a few minutes, which said I would get a response within 2 working days. But I haven't got a response even after 5 working days (i excluded Saturday and Sunday). This means that there is probably no appellate officer at all for DOCOMO, and they are just maintaining a dummy appellate email id, just to send automated replies.
I agree that DOCOMO is unable to provide proper service due to its low costs. In such cases, I'm sure it would be more preferential for customers if DOCOMO hikes their prices to provide good service, rather than maintaining low prices but offering incorrigible services. I sincerely hope that Docomo does not win the 3G spectrum bidding in Karnataka during January 2014. As for me, I'll definitely be porting my number to a different operator after my current balance is exhausted. |

It looked a bit higher as their site only mentioned 1199rs and in some places they have also mentioned at less than 1000rs. Please reply. |
| Doubts on BSNL EVDO | Guys Help! Posted: 31 Jan 2014 12:07 AM PST Hey Guys, I'm new to this forum, so forgive me in-case I make some mistake. Before I used live in HAL area where all the broadbands were available and i had BSNL with the 750 plan, I was quite satisfied with it.
Recently, I moved to a new area, AECS Layout Block B,Singhasandra,Bangalore-68(Check it out on G-maps).... Well the first shocker was that in this area there is no company which provides internet till date(Not even BSNL
So i had to out of my way and buy BSNL 3G and Relance Netconnect... Both give good speed(Full signal for both), with 5 GB limit...
Recently I came to know about BSNL evdo from their site and it says its truely unlimited(YES, I'm fed up with the 5 GB limit, since if actually enter something like YouTube, Poof! 5 GB's Gone in 3 Days)
So here are my Queries:
1.I get full signal strength in BSNL 3G and speed ranging from 5-7.1 Mbps i.e 500-710 KBps download speed(My device itself can handle max of 7.2 Mbps)... So will I be getting the same signal strength and download speed? (i.e 1-3 Mbps-Since evdo gives max of 3.1 Mbps)
2.Any router you suggest that i can put the sim into and it gives me wifi directly?
3.How do i test BSNL EVDO without spending much money?
Thank You guys so much in advance.. Pls. reply fast... I also need time to convience my parents to buy EVDO again... Also it would be nice if you could pm me some ISP that provides internet in this area |

But it seems worthless with no whatsapp working...I checked the APN on my cell and they are TATA.DOCOMO.DIVE.IN and TATA.DOCOMO.INTERNET. The INTERNET apn is useless to connect to internet and with DIVE.IN I CAN'T SEND OR RECEIVE ANY WHATSAPP MESSEGES. What is wrong with my cell or with the docomo internet??? |

I visited the Aircel outlet in R.T.Nagar on 25th, filled all the necessary forms and got a new aircel sim.
After this on 26th, docomo gave me a special tariff benefit that all calls would be charged at 1.2p/2sec for 4 months. when i called CS they said it was offered so as to retain the customer from porting out.
On the 4th day i.e. on 29th i received a message from aircel that the porting request has been accepted and the new sim would he activated on 30/1/2014 at 00:16 .
The same night the balance of 8rs which i had on docomo vanished!!! the balance was reduced to 0.01
on 30th docomo sim went offline and aircel sim was activated. I had to call 59059 to activate their services. Then call 123 for language selection. Finally send AIRCEL to 121 to get MNP benefits. Nice deal they were offering.
Also the docomo sim which was on my fathers name was transferred to my name.
Initial impressions were that the voice clarity was comewhat clearer. And internet gets connected instantly

Its FREE ! U can now have yahoo email IDs with (.) in between. The gr8 thin abt this ... u can use the same INBOX for both email IDs. Both mails drop into the same inbox and u can give ur second ID either for office or some important work so that the ID sounds better than the present one !
