BJP is against gay rights

Posted: 28 Jan 2014 02:40 AM PST

BJP breaks silence on Sec 377, says party will never support homosexuality

BJP President Rajnath Singh said, "We will state (at an all-party meeting if it is called) that we support Section 377 because we believe that homosexuality is an unnatural act and cannot be supported." It seems the BJP has now dropped its circumspection, probably on the assessment that the gay community is not electorally significant and the party stands to suffer a dent in its traditional base if it is seen to be supporting "unnatural acts".

Any HUAWEI E8131 user here?

Posted: 28 Jan 2014 02:39 AM PST

http://www.huaweidevice.co.in/Products/MobileBroadband/huawei-E8131.php

Huawei E8131 is the world's 1st superfast data card with Wi-Fi for five. It is a multi-mode wireless terminal for SOHO (Small Office Home Office) and business professionals. Huawei E8131 is HSPA+ device with 21 Mbps DL and 5.76Mbps UL speed and can connect with PC/Laptop or any USB Adaptor and activate Wi-Fi. It also comes equipped with Type3i Technology which provides up to 20% more upload and download speed compared to non Type3i devices so that you experience great browsing speed.

For WiFi hotspot I am planning to buy E8131, but wanted to know if anybody here using this. Also they have mentioned that we can connect this device in any USB adapter to power it on and turn WiFi ON. Generally which USB adapter would it support? Can I use USB adapters which come with mobile chargers?

Nokia Lumia 1320

http://www.engadget.com/2013/10/21/nokia-lumia-1320-press-shot-leaks/

Lumia 1320, better known by its unofficial "Batman" nickname. There aren't many clues to the specs, although it's clear that the phone would take advantage of Windows Phone GDR3's support for large displays. The side trim also supports theories that this is a Lumia 625-style budget handset, not a flagship.

So not really power-packed handset, just big screen. Hopefully it has 1 GB RAM, unlike 625 which has 512 MB RAM.

Airtel IPTV installation with D-Link DSL-2750U

Posted: 28 Jan 2014 01:57 AM PST

Frustrated with the Wi-Fi performance of existing Airtel Provided Router Beetel 450TC1, I purchased and installed a D-Link DSL-2750U WiFi router and succeeded in configuring WiFi and LAN access for all my data devices.

I examined all the WAN connections on my old router and updated them in the new D-Link router as shown below:

================================================================
VPI/VCI VLAN ID   ENCAP Service Name Protocol   State Status
================================================================
1/35      0        LLC   PVC:1/35      Bridge    1     Connected
0/35      0        LLC   PVC:0/35      Bridge    1     Connected
1/32      0        LLC   PVC:1/32      PPPoE     1     Connected
================================================================

The problem I am facing is that the IPTV STB is unable to log into the system successfully every time it is turned on. By trial and error I have identified that the STB logs in successfully if I switch on the router & STB at the same time.

I suspect the problem could be with the router. Either it blocks some traffic from the STB required for logging in OR it fails to detect the device (STB) connected to the LAN port.

It would be great if someone can share their experience of making Airtel IPTV work with D-Link DSL-2750U WiFi router in a problem free setup.

Regards.
Siddhartha

BBG FN COMBO 600 speed is very slow

Posted: 28 Jan 2014 01:30 AM PST

I am getting a very low speed on BBG FN COMBO 600 connection. I have tested it in "http://speedtester.bsnl.co.in/" and it shows as "417.10kbps" = "52.14 KB/sec" which is very slow.

Expected is "2Mbps" = "200KB/sec". What should I do ? Can someone throw some light on this ? Has anyone experienced this earlier ?

Speed slowdown after 9pm...

Posted: 28 Jan 2014 12:31 AM PST

I have Hathway connection in Vadodara, 4mbps plan.

Now, I have had some disconnection and slowness issues.

But what I have consistently noticed over the last 3 days is that the speeds are decent/fine in the afternoon/evenings, but somewhere around 10pm they drop from 3mbps around to 0.5-1.25mbps.

Any ideas?

How does BBNL work?

Posted: 27 Jan 2014 11:25 PM PST

I just got this ISP installed. They terminated a wire to my premises. Once i plug the RJ45 Jack to my Laptop, i get an APIPA  IP. 169.254.115.152.

I am unable to connect to any websites with this IP.

Then i use a dialer which can be created from Network sharing center on Windows  7 and give my username and password and it connects.

not sure how it happens. i want to use a wireless router but a little nervous whether it would work or not.

Switching to Reliance from BSNL

Posted: 27 Jan 2014 11:05 PM PST

Hi! I'm from Rajkot, Gujarat. Right now I'm using 625 combo plan of BSNL. As you know it's speed is pathetic. So I'm planning to change plan/ISP. I can afford around 800 rupees at the moment. So I'm planning to go for 'Thunder 699'. Here are some questions I have.

  • How is Reliance service? Better than BSNL?
  • Any heavy speed fluctuations, frequent disconnection problems?
  • Does it give 2 Mbps speed? (Doesn't matter if they give even 60-70% of 2 Mbps....better than BSNL 256 Kbps )
  • I've laptops & smartphones so I always have to access internet via Wi-Fi. Does that plan includes wifi-modem-routers?
  • Does that plan allow to connect multiple devices at same time? If not then is there any way to do that?
  • Do they give connection without landline phone? I plan to use BSNL landline phone.

Also, I want to ask about a new provider in my area - Tikona (or whatever it is). Is it good? Prices are better than BSNL.

Please be considerate if I asked some stupid questions. I'm noob in internet technology.

Any dongles that give HSPA+ speeds?

Posted: 27 Jan 2014 02:25 PM PST

I live in Vadodara, Gujarat.

We have 3G coverage at my house from Vodafone, Reliance, Tata.

I see on Vodafone and Reliance site that they have HSPA+ network up to 21mbps. Do they have dongles that will give this speed?

It was confusing to research online, as I don't know whether HSPA+ coverage is available in my area or not. Or, does HSPA+ work over normal 3g?
