Hathway Broadband launches Docsis 3.0 Ultra High speed network

We are the first Company to launch a Docsis 3.0 network in the country," said Hathway Cable & Datacom MD & CEO Jagdish Kumar. "With our Docsis 3.0 network supplied by Cisco we are ready to deliver Ultra High Speed Broadband upto 50 Mbps to every retail customer in South Mumbai.

 

Hathway Docsis 3.0 plans start from monthly Rs 599 and go upto Rs 1499 for the 50 Mbps plan which offers 50 GB of download data.

Port forwarding on 3G Networks

BSNL disconnecting frequently

Guys, I'm from chandigarh and on 1350UL plan. (4mbps till 20gb 512after)

 

though i only get 2mbps. <_<

 

And its been 2 weeks since the problem is happening. I'm using Netgear n300. Net keeps randomly disconnecting. And i have to reset modem/router then it works and again down.. repeat

 

Dunno if its BSNL or the Router. What should I do? Laptop ain't the problem, as disconnection occur on my ps3/tablet as well.

 

Its been really annoying. Help a brother out?

They claim to have fiber backbone and multiple ISP Options >> 1&1Broadband Internet- Thane?s High Speed Internet,Broadband,Unlimited Downloads,Lease Line,Internet ISP providers.

Any actual user here having their services? How is sustained speed v/s promised, reliability etc?

How to configure tikona with adsl2+ router (Dlink DSL-2750U)

Recently I bought Dlink DSL-2750U modem+router for home use. I want to configure this router but router WAN port accepts RJ11 cable.

And tikona has RJ45 cable.

So anybody can suggest solution for this problem?

Also this router has USB port for connecting internet dongles.

Thought I would start another thread for people who have actually used this service to describe their experience.

They have started advertising quite heavily in Bombay and their plans seem pretty decent. Their 600kbps UL plan would be excellent for me.

I really like the way they have bill limits for their limited plans as well. That shows they understand consumer concerns about enormous bills and have designed their plans to allay them.

So how good is their service? Any down time? How quickly do they respond to complaints? Really any information from people who have used Tikona would be appreciated.

Frequent Disconnection / ADSL blinking Issue on MTNL Broadband

Hi,

I am a user of 849NU plan of MTNL Triband service since August based out of Navi Mumbai.

All of August, i was very happy to have a lovely connection and good speeds, with a pretty good tariff.
But now since the past 15 days I am suffering from very intermittent net connection.
Although I am connected to the internet, sometimes the webpages take ages to open, and never open, while at other times it opens instantly. Also downloading has the same pattern, sometimes I get very good speeds of upto 200 Kbps, while other times there is no download. Although all download sites show good Triband Speed, but it is the intermittent connection that is the problem.
This problem has crept up in the last 15 odd days, and I have tried everything but no change has been noticed.

Has anyone else faced a similar problem, and if yes, whats the work around. The people at MTNL classify this as a slow connection problem, but that is exactly not the issue, as I do get good speeds intermittently.

Somebody please help me.

TataSky 7.1 Dolby Digital Plus, how to get

For those who want to enjoy 7.1 Dolby Digital Plus or Dolby Digital 5.1 sound with tata sky +hd, plz do the following
Buy an AVR/DAC with Dolby Digital + decoder and a set of 7.1 speakers connect them to Tatasky +hd Box with HDMI cable only (use Coaxial and optical for upto 5.1ch) go to organizer-> User Settings->audio settings set Hdmi to Dolby Digital(if Avr is connected through HDMI) or Spdif to Dolby Digital(If AVR is connected with coaxial or optical). by this your 7.1 system(HDMI connection) has been setup but u will still get 5.1 sound because, not all contents are in 7.1 sound, so choose a movie which as per internet information says that has DD+ 7.1 sound like RAOne. 2nd and most imp thing the box supports 7.1 but the firmware in +hd box is still old and supports only Dolby Digital. to get Dolby Digital plus(7.1) the STB firmware has to be upgraded. I have already mailed tata to do that and I request all of u to plz ask tata sky to upgrade the firmware of STB to support Dolby Digital Plus along with Dolby Digital. Once they upgrade it, you will see the option of DD+ in Audio Settings along with DD and PCM. set it to DD+ to get 7.1 sound when a 7.1 content is shown.

Yeah i still remember the good old days when TATA DOCOMO was the only good 2G network which was giving 4 GB for 95 rs. And that too without a single sec. of "disconnection". :sad: But now that's the past thing.

 

Now onto the topic.. For few days as most of the people might be aware of the STUPID games played by mobile co. who revised their 2G Data plans (Vodafone/Idea 2G - 155Rs./GB) :nono: :nono:  ..

It is just pathetic marketing strategy to force their 2g subscribers to 3g .. YUCK !!

 

And now TATA DOCOMO is on the sameway..

Today i saw their website for Gujarat and what did i see ??

 

79 rs - 750MB - 21 Days

95 rs.- 750MB - 21 Days

126rs - 1 GB - 30Days

149 rs - 2gb - 30days

  And internet plus plan

104 rs - 1GB Data + 100mins. of Saavn music :offended:

129 rs - 1 GB 3g ( 1st good option available)

251 rs - 205 core TT and 1 GB 3g ( 2nd good option available)

i mean who the f*&# will do normal 126 rs recharge if they can get 1 gb data + 1000 mins. of saavn music ??

and can get 1GB 3g for 129 ??

And that too with like every hr. of mobile disconnection issue :pissed-off: :pissed-off:

I have a PPF account, which I opened through ICICI bank ..

Every month they automatically deposit some amount to my PPF account ..

 

So in one year all those installments total is less than 1 lakh (PPF allows maximum deposit of 1 lakh per year) ..

Now if I want to add more funds to my PPF account than can I do it? Cos on wiki it says
 

 

The investments can be made in multiples of Rs. 500, either as a whole sum, or in installments (not exceeding 12 in a year, though more than one deposit can be made in a month).

 

 

So those automatic installments makes it 12 installments in a year .. and if I make any extra "whole sum" deposit than will it increase the maximum allowed installments in a year?

 

Or it says tht one can deposit as much as amount as "whole sum" in addition to those 12 installments?

MTNL ADSL Tp-Link 10 hour MTNL/ADSL session but no internet sometimes

I have been facing this internet disconnection issue for past 8 months.

 

Solution 1.

Changed the router straight way since I thought my D-Link + ADSL modem from MTNL had got spoilt.

Got new router TP Link

 

Nothing happened, still bad internet.

 

Solution 2.

Called MTNL guys, they bundled the 2 core wire from end to end to - 4 core, they merged the 4 wires each and joint them end to end.

This was stupid move as this was even worst, as this would not let the ADSL handshake complete and would take ages to even STABLE ADSL Light.

 

Solution 3,

After calling 100 time to mtnl and the visit and calling DMG and GM, the LAZY man sitting in the exchange who is the senior most only told me to change the cable from my house to the out side of my home to the next point of connection in the BOX.

Told me he would not do anything untill I change the wire.

 

I got the wire changed with CAT 6, not even CAT 5, even better.

 

Nothing changed, still I have bad sessions. and constant disconnections.

TP Link PPP LOGS show sessions disconnections 

The MTNL http://register.mtnl.net.in Site also showed bad sessions.

So I was sure that I still had a bad line issue and nothing else.

 

Solutions 4.

Finally I got very angry and I told the idiots to come to my house and then from my house to the next point check it

 

They checked and ... then they took the wire off the small switch where they clip it inside, re cut there the new CAT 6 and the wire which came and joined them together and re pressed them into the clip >> (This did improve little)

 

Solution 5

Then I used the internet for a few days and called them again that there is still issue of sessions disconnections.

Then finally I made them go to the next point of connection, which was just 1 floor below my house, 

There was a plastic CAP button in which the 2 wires were joined and they cut off the button and joined the wires directly with TAPE, and DAMMMMM the connection issue was all gone.

 

Everything was great after that the ADSL and TP Link sessions are perfect 10 hours.

 

Solution 6

In the middle I also tried to change the ADSL type of connection in modem 

G,DMT >>> Annex A >> it gave a good result also, but not perfect.

ADSL 2 >> also gives better solution better connection if your line is a little bad. your connection improves 

ADSL 2 Plus >> only if you have the best line and wiring

 

PROBLEM:

So now what is left ???????????

I still have no internet sometimes.

The sessions does not disconnect but there is no internet sometimes, it goes and comes back. (skype/emails/web/google drive all disconnects and comes back/ google drive does not come back on its own, need to restart )

The ADSL light is always on even if there is no internet, so the session is perfect

The MTNL has 10 hour perfect sessions

Volume levels on Tata Sky channels, both SD and HD

Hi,

 

I have been facing this problem of very low volume levels for some time now. My set top box volume level is at 100% and my Sony LED TV needs to be set to 30-35 lines to be able to hear the audio properly. But still the quality is not good. Sound is muffled. Some of the dialogs are not properly audible. My HD+ STB is connected to my TV via HDMI cable.

 

Few observations:

1. Any non-HDMI devices such as DVD player, internet etc. works on my TV within volume range of 10-15.

2. Any HDMI device such as my camcorder, etc. works within same volume range of 10-15. It is just the Tata Sky HD+ STB which refuses to give good quality sound. I even tried using component output but same issue.

 

Suspecting that either the STB is not working fine or perhaps the signal itself doesn't have strong audio component, I have been chasing the Tata Sky support on this for last couple of days. But those guys keep giving nonsensical answers and close the complaint. Yesterday the technician told me that the HDMI ports on my Sony TV had a problem and I should contact Sony service center for the same. When I challenged him with the demo in point 2 above, he finally said he would check with technical support and get back to me. But to my surprise he went back and closed the complaint!

 

I checked with many other folks who are reporting the same thing i.e. the TV volume control is set almost half way through (50%) and STB sound level is set to 100% then only one can get something to hear, but still the quality is not good (suppressed, muffled, lower frequencies cut off).

 

Is this something that is affecting everyone? I wonder why Tata Sky is not responding to the complaints...

We are replacing close to 5-6 million MPEG-2 SD STBs at no cost to consumers over the next year. All of this is coming in from internal accruals.

 

But you need to wait for one more year to see many new channels

 

 

 

We have been adding channels in a phased manner; the process will now be accelerated with the MPEG-4 STB. By June-July next year we should be able to revise our channel offerings to consumers,

Torrents btcache no more?

Hello everyone, first time poster here.

 

I am located in thane west and have been using 5net for about 3 months now.

The main reason i switched over to 5net  from my tata indicom adsl was the torrent speeds.

I always used to get 900kB/s fro popular torrents and even 7-8 MB/s for more popular torrents.

Later i discovered that it is due to BtCache/ CacheBT..

but since 2-3 weeks... i am not getting such high speeds on torrents. max i can go upto is 130-140kB/s (i.e my 1mbps UL plan)

BtCache/CacheBT no longer shows up in the peer list for the currently downloading torrents (as many of you might know.. this is a network caching cluster of fivenet which provides such amazing speeds... simply put.. local torrent caching)

 

i can see however that youtube still works good for 720 even 1080p videos(i.e youtube is still cached)

 

 

has fivenet stopped torrent caching??

any one else facing a similar issue?? 

a call to my lco got me this response "Everything is fine"

So went to Corsair laptop service centre just now. " Kaizen " Nehru Place to get my 4GB ram replaced.

 

 

I asked if i really need to come down there or is there any other option, the lady tells me " service center hei anna padega "

 

The place looked like freaking 10 year old toaster repair shop opened in khoka 

 

Some Auntiji was sitting I asked  if they can check the Ram and tell me if its ok or not. so I would just know now if i need to replace it or not :

 

Reply Can't do it.

 

I asked when will I get new Ram or you guys will give me the same thing back: Don't know corsair service aisehei hai...

 

They also had Dlink ...Aoc...and bunch of other service centres showing on their 10 year old board.

 

Honestly seems like crosair India support is totally cr*p!

 

Did not even get any SMS or anything of the complain. Its freaking 20 years kind of service. Just got printed receipt !

 

Now I need to go again after 2 days... grr. Travelling and wasting time like this is not cheap ! It almost took 3 hours to go and come back !

 

Is any thing else I can do so I get this thing done properly I don't want to end with the same Ram again specially if these people have no clew  what will happen !

I should have gotten the dam thing replaced from FK when i had gotten couple of BSOD errors in the month i purchased it !

 

 

How can I get this delivery done via courier ?
