What happened to my ping? Posted: 02 Dec 2013 01:46 AM PST I was a lamenting BSNL user until this November when I switched back to Airtel on the 4mbps 30GB plan. (I had been an Airtel user many years ago). I was really enjoying the low pings for gaming and the 256kbps post FUP speed if not annoying, was adjustable. But then today, I am getting massive ping spikes for European servers for almost all games. Singapore servers still have low pings. Is this because my post FUP speed has come into effect and they are manipulating my latency as well?   As you can see in the above screenshot, the latency spike seems to occur at some node based in Delhi. Technical issues?

You have my money for the first and the last time ! *VODAFONE* Posted: 02 Dec 2013 01:29 AM PST dear vodafone,   you guys suck ! your customer care is pathetic (yes you really dont care for your consumers ) i recharged 199 unlimited 2g pack but it seems more like a no-G pack... no speeds anytime of the day, when i call customer care they give silly advices like restart your phone, check your apn, move to a more servicable area (yeah sure ... i would buy a new house for using your silly net service). The problem is in the vodafone system administration,  you guys have capped speed to such an extent that its unusable. I have been using Aircel (for both 2g and 3g which is awesome) and infact IDEA has better speed output in 2g. Your network inspite of being most used is so pathetic in terms of speed that i have almost made up my mind to not waste any more of my hard earned money in your net plans.   Just make sure you are not out of race because you are already losing it. I have many friends using your 3g and they said speed was ok but no one  said the speed was awesome, your prices are high, speeds are low and under any circumstances you are going to lose more users like me if you continue on the same track.   best regards,   Abhishek (9628408080)

Is any body using these ink advantage printers. Cartridge now used is Hp 678, earlier models were coming with Hp 685 cartridges.  I want to know if these cartridges can be refilled for long. I have heard people refilling them but they are not lasting more than 2-3 refills. One seller also told me the same. Can anyone tell from their experience if it is really so, and how many times have you refilled? Thanks

Which broadband is available in HSR Layout 1st Sector Bangalore Posted: 02 Dec 2013 12:48 AM PST I'm going to move to HSR Layout 1st Sector in the following week. I contacted Airtel and unfortunately they don't have network feasibility here. This absolutely surprises me to know that Airtel still don't have their network in one of the prime residential places of Bangalore. To be honest I searched all over the internet to know what all ISPs are available and there are not many. I heard of TTN network as most used broadband here in 1st Sector, but all over the internet its users are down voting and cursing it.   I hope this is my last resort to ask this question on broadband forum, if anyone is staying here in 1st Sector, do you know what all ISPs are available here? If you've heard of TTN Network, is it really that horrible as its users say?   I'm really internet starved and frustrated to my depths, this is my new home and they still don't have Airtel here. I can't stay alive on shitty Airtel 3G and expensive 4G anymore . Lord knows what the hell is taking so much time.

My roommate did some late payments on my loan in USA which might have altered my credit history I will be travelling to USA for a short trip, I want to check my credit history now. The site AnnualCreditReport.com needs an address where in I stayed for atleast 2 years (I dont have any). I went ahead to get one on my previous address but it started asking me weird questions to check my identity like mortgage amount (which I never took) and all that. Finally the site displayed a message that I need to send a request by snail mail with address proof. Is there any way to get the credit history without all these issue?

ACT Broadband Bangalore Reviews Posted: 02 Dec 2013 12:18 AM PST Hello Readers, My name is Vivek Sinha Anurag and i am going to post some "great" work shown by Act Broadband. I applied for ACT Broadband 5 Mbps plan [its having cap value of 35GB after that speed will reduce to 256 kbps] by calling their customer care on 16th Aug 2011. I was surprised to see their lightening fast response as the representative came to my doorstep the very next day and on 17th Aug 2011 Mr Ashitt O.S. collected the money and documents and told me that withing 5 days i will get my connection and i even got sms confirmation that my request no is 142263. Now the real story started. Even after 6 days no one ever bothered to check my request so i called customer care [ 080-42840000] to remind them and i was told that i will get it withing next 2 days. I waited for next 2 days and called them again. I was surprised to learn a new technical term from them that they are "Uploading network" hence its taking time and soon i will get my connection. Since my work was getting affected because of their delay i applied for a BSNL connection too. Now today is 5th September and i am still waiting for the connection and to my surprise i got the BSNL broadband last week. I tried escalating this matter and asked the customer care for any high level contact and they said that i need to mail helpdesk@acttv.in. I emailed them but i got no response. Please note some points regarding ACT broadband before applying ACT broadband 1. They dont have nodal officer/appellate authority [against TRAI rules and i have already escalated this matter to TRAI officials with the help of pgportal.gov.in] 2. They have a customer base of 2500 users in bangalore and they are not able to manage even this small number. 3. They DO NOT PROVIDE STATIC IP [even if they claim to do so] 4. Their customer care service is useless. All you will losse is your balance by talking to them 5. They can "Upload network" [You can imagine the understanding capability of their technicians] 6. They are fast in collecting money but lazy in delivering service Final conclusion: To be on safe side stay away from them else you will suffer like me. Morning shows the day and even before using their service i am suffering. Don't know what will happen when i get the connection and i face any problem that time.

My experience with ACT BB Posted: 01 Dec 2013 11:19 PM PST Feedback whether positive or negative should be passed to the appropriate person. That's what I believe in.   This is the timeline of how my installation experience has been with ACT BB.   11 Nov-2013 - I applied for a new ACT BB connection today in Kundanahalli Gate, Bangalore. I will keep you posted on the developments.    11-Nov-2013 - Cheque payment made to Sales executive, Babu Reddy, details filled on form and submitted to him. ETA - 3 days for wiring and connection to be activated. 12-Nov-2013 - I got a call from ACT technician today that cabling would be done by end of the day. Got a confirmation call from Customer Care at 1543 hrs, IST today that connection will be activated in 2 days. So far, so good.   12-Nov-2013 - At 1616 hrs, IST I receive a call from Mukund who is the ACT technician saying that the wiring has been completed to my apartment on the third floor and i would be receiving a call today at 1700 hrs, IST for username and password. Mukund confirms that I can use my internet connection from tonight. I would term this as awesome service from an installation perspective, although I would have to wait and watch how stable the connection is post installation. 12-Nov-2013 - Cabling has been completed and just received the credentials for my broadband account at 2059 hrs, IST through email and the registered mobile number. A confirmation call was made from the customer care before the account got activated.I am still out, so I gotta go and check how the connection is. All i see is a big giant corporation sucking all the privacy it can from nearly all individual who are online.   The Fall has been amplified by the recent expose of the PRISM debacle.   With Recent move to make real name / real profile associated with your Google account to comment on youtube , things are not all rossy at google.     Here is another fine example of major f*** up by google , and even more appaling is how we all have started to accept the fact that there is no real support for such a big company. Even though most of the times its all automated , but many years ago , when i had issues with Adsense , it was as if talking to a empty space.   But apart from these , I am slowly loosing my confidence and trust on google , the way they have progressed and action they take.   Youtube without ABP is pure crap. I cant view 30 sec video without wathcing a 1 min ad , that too on HD , when my actual video i am supposed to watch doesnt run smoothly at 240p , even though its an isp issue , still Google should be aware of my bandwidth , when it is quick enough to change the video from 240p to 144p , me even without asking it , but fails to load a SD ad depending on my speed.   Gmail is full of ads again and it started to be listed right above emails too.   Picasa is dead and replaced with crap like G+ photo which is viewable for the elite who can have a decent 2mpbs connection.   Blogger imo is dead too , with region changing domains , i feel its more shifted towards easy censoring .   Google plus is crap and so is FB. May be i am just tired of all these social sites. May be its just me .   Apart from these , the main service , the actual search , imo has taken deep dive . The results are no more better. Most of the time it serves me out dated links (2008-2010) , and each time i have to specify to link to 2012-2013 to get more precise results. With all the MPAA/RIAA/other take down request , i am not sure whether the result i am seeing is even the best ones.   You cant use Google without using good userscripts (googlifix) to enable all the hidden features , which were once easily available.   Android is whole lot different , with Google play/market imo is fuc*** up , with most of the space wasted on movies and books and no real way to show only apps. Still the search on Play is ancient and no real way to filter them.   With recent 4.4 KK , and recent issue on how you cant have access to Battery info , i dont know where this is all leading. Even though a lot has been optimized and became effecient , android is again pushing one to use its services .   May its all because of PRISM , i have lost all trust on google and each day all i see if they grabbing all the possible information on everyone , to either serve the ads or to nsa or whatever. There is also a general dislike slowly growing towards google.
