Tata DOCOMO Wired Broadband - My Experience

To all those who are thinking of going for Tata Docomo wired broadband, hopefully I can address some of your concerns.

 

I was so far using Tata Indicom Broadband with a monthly plan of Rs 1800 for 1 Mbps unltd.One day while browsing I came across the plans offered by Tata Docomo which  sounded too good to be true.I immediately called the Tata Docomo customer care and opted for  a new connection. After a bit of follow up, my connection was installed within a week.Here's my experience so far:

 

I opted for the 8Mbps (160 GB FUP) plan for Rs 1500 p.m. At the time of installation, the engineer admitted that even though the plan says 8 Mbps, users generally get between 5-7Mbps. A quick speed test proved this statment to be true.I appreciate this kind of honesty upfront  rather than the smooth talking executives who cheat customers on the pretext of false promises.

 

Its been 2 weeks since I had the connection and the overall experience has been pretty good. There have been almost no downtimes and the speeds stay withing the promised range, in fact of late I have sometimes observed the speed hover around the 7.5 Mbps mark.Installation charges are about Rs 1200 and they give a wi-fi router free of cost.

 

My suggestion to anyone who is looking to switch- go for it!

Whom to trust?

Folks,

Almost three months of struggle, last week I could get some response from ACT, representative by name Darshan coordinated for documentation and i paid subscription amount for 6 months.

No one turned up for couple of days, after frequent follow ups i found that cable operator in Sriramapuram area is not co-operating etc.,. When i called Darshan he says he will install the modem in a day or two.

 

My concern is why should Executive make such false promises?

Why should he say that my neighbour has ACT connectivity and he can draw cable from there?

When I called Helpline, they're talking about refunding money?

 

WHOM SHOULD I TRUST?

 

i lost trust with ACT Broad Band.

 

My suggestion to new subscribers is that please check whether ACT BB has proper infrastructure in your area and also check with your neighbour before applying.

How does trading work on ICICIDirect.com?

I logged in to my account after 5 years. I have to sell some stock this week. I just wanted to know somethings if anyone here can help. 

 

My DMAT account is connected to my savings account. I do not remember how I started trading. I wonder if I allocated some funds from my savings account to my DMAT account for purchasing stocks? 

 

What happens when I sell stock from my DMAT account? Is the money deposited straight to my savings account? Or ICICIDirect has its own storage account for funds allocated by me for trading? 

 

Have absolutely no clue how things work! 

ACT broadband from best to worst

I have applied for transfer of connection as I have moved to a new house on 14th sep 2013. 

My ticket number - 1221583.

 

The house is in the same area where I was residing earlier ( Nagawara, Bangalore - 560045).

 

Already 8 days are over from the day I raised the ticket. But still nobody has contacted me from ACT so far. I called up customer care almost 10 times. All the time I get the same stereotype answer that they forwarded to the concerned department. I am in urgent need of the connection; but these type of lazy action and lazy words from them irritates.

 

Note that, when I have applied for new connection 2 years back, they were very quick to call back, they were quick to install and everything was perfect. But now, they have SWALLOWED enough money and not willing to move their back to do their work.

 

So PATHETIC service from ACT broadband.

 

 

 

Is Justeat.in safe & reliable to use via credit card?

One issue that I encountered with Dominos on online payment is that the delivery guy still asks for cash even after the order has been paid online via credit card. Is this the same case for justeat.in? Has anyone tried their online payment service?

Hi Guys,

 

I have recently shifted to the Rajakilpakkam area, Chennai. Was desperately looking for an ISP. Airtel did not have cables, I am not  a great fan of BSNL due to to my past experiences, so rejected that. Finally got to know about a new ISP by the name VIBRANTNET (www.vibrantnet.in). I was using Wi-Fi (FTTH) when I used to stay in Medavakkam, the plans provided by this guy matches the same as Wi-Fi, checked with the Sales guy and came to know that these guys have taken over from Wi-Fi. 

 

I am left with no choice, but I am still confused if I can go for this. I have opted for 4Mbps plan (Rs. 3454 for 3 months + 750 Reg Fee + Tax). The Sales guy has promised to come back within 3 days for the installation. Can someone suggest please?

General Enquiry placed for Tata Docomo Broadband

So, I requested a call back asking details of plans and feasibility in two close by locations including my current residence. Have got calls thrice, once they even promised to send sales executive but no one turned up. The other call said they will check feasibility at both locations and call back. The third one just took my details and said will call back. 

 

All this is the past week or so. Lets see how this goes.

That being said, I'd like to post this.

Today, while coming to office, I was listening to Radio Mirchi, and there the RJ was playing songs dedicated by the parents for their child(ren).

There's one father who dedicated the song "Kajra Re" for his son. There's another father who dedicated the song "Dhoom Machale Dhoom" for his son. Now, after those two requests, there was one mother who dedicated the song "Jaadu Jaadu" for her daughter.

Now we can see the real contrast in the choice of songs between the dads and the mom (or for the son and the daughter). What do you think which was it? Or does it indicate some kind of specific mentality?

Only HDD changed and CD-writer upgraded to DVD-writer,SMPS replaced twice in these 7yrs!!!

256MB Hynix RAM
160GB Segate SATA HDD (Bought 2 years back)
14" Samtron CRT monitor  (Still working perfect without any issues)
Logitech MM Keyboard  (PS/2..yes you heard it right...Not an USB)
Samsung optical mouse ( this one too PS/2 :D )
Samsung DVD-writer (bought 2 yrs back)
Mercury 440W speakers  (sounds ok)
Zebronics ATX cabinet 
Intex 440W SMPS (bought last yr)
 
Used the system (Windows XP SP2) for about 2-3hrs per day mostly for running java & .net programs,web browsing,ms-office,music & movies with occasional causal gaming like nfs underground,hit man series,cricket 07,gta vice city,halo,freedom fighters etc (Yeah I know these are quite old games and my system will not support beyond these)
 
This month processor,motherboard & RAM everything got faulty...oh god!!! So, I need to replace my PC.I wouldn't want to spend more than 7k...I don't need i3/i5 processors...just need basic system which supports my previous activities.
 
I'm thinking of going for AMD processor because of cost factor.Pls suggest best compatible motherboard, 2GB DDR3 RAM along with processor.In any case all the 3 components must not exceed 7k.So pls suggest me a combination which supports all my hardware,I mean everything which should be ready for future upgrade without any issues.Hope there will be individual warranties for every component!!!

I had decided before that I would be buying Samsung Galaxy S4 on the day of release. But due to some financial issues, I ended up buying Lumia 520 :) Now I need to buy smartphone, highend so it lasts longer time. Initially made my mind to buy Nexus 5, was supposed to visit USA in the first week of January 2014 but that was postponed to april 2014. Nexus 5 in India at 33k with enormous wait time does not seem an option and ofcourse it does not have extendable memory. What are the other options other than Galaxy S4. HTC one seems overpriced as per flipkart. Suggestions please.
