Ashes 2013 (Aus v Eng)

Posted: 26 Aug 2013 02:39 AM PDT

http://www.espncricinfo.com/the-ashes-2013/content/current/story/644797.html

Mickey Arthur has been sacked as Australia's head coach less than three weeks before the start of the Ashes. Cricket Australia is yet to officially announce the decision but the chief executive James Sutherland and general manager of team performance Pat Howard are due to hold a press conference in Bristol on Monday morning (UK time) to confirm the move.

Darren Lehmann, the successful Queensland coach, is considered a leading contender to replace Arthur at short notice. Lehmann is in England having just finished a tour as mentor of the Australia A outfit and has won rave reviews for the tough and somewhat old-school approach he has taken with Queensland since he was appointed in 2011.

But whatever the case, the axing of Arthur has left the Australian camp in a shambles on the eve of the Ashes campaign. The squad was due to meet in Taunton on Monday ahead of their first tour game against Somerset, with some of the players having been part of the Australia A squad, some having been playing in the Champions Trophy and others having been warming up in county cricket.

BSNL ADSL Broadband Becomes Pathetic Between 12 PM ans 6 PM

Is it only me or anyone else is also having this same problem. BSNL broadband performs great at night and morning (and sometimes at also in evening). But it becomes almost pathetically slow (though speedtest.net result show fast speeds always) after noon.

Fernando Alonso News and Updates

Posted: 26 Aug 2013 02:16 AM PDT

Fernando Alonso topped the timesheets on his return to Renault today at Jerez lapping the Spanish circuit a tenth clear of countryman Pedro de la Rosa. It was an impressive return to the team for Alonso as he put in 70 laps with a best time of 1:19.503s.

It was a busy day for the McLaren Mercedes team with de la Rosa putting in 111 laps in his MP4-23 while Kovalainen sixth fastest, completed 130 laps in the new machine.

Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa were third and fifth fastest respectively for Ferrari with Nico Rosberg running well in his FW29 with the fourth fastest time.

Sebastian Vettel and Sebastien Bourdais proved closely matched for Toro Rosso Ferrari with the seventh and eighth fastest times while Mark Webber was ninth best in the Red Bull Renault.

Kazuke Nakajima rounded out the top ten in his Williams Toyota ahead of Timo Glock in the leading Toyota TF108 and Giancarlo Fisichella in the Force India Ferrari. Kamui Kobayashi brought up the bottom of the timesheets in the second Toyota while Super Aguri Honda did not run after problems encountered yesterday.
Renault continued its preparations for 2008 today with Fernando Alonso taking over driving responsibilities from Nelson Piquet.

It was an important day as it was Alonso's first appearance in Renault colours since being confirmed as a 2008 race driver in December.

Arriving at the Jerez circuit yesterday evening, the Spaniard spoke to the engineers to understand how the first day of the programme had gone, and to prepare for his two days work with the team.

His first day behind the wheel gave the Spaniard the opportunity to drive a car in accordance with the 2008 electronic regulations, and most significantly without traction control. It was also a good opportunity to reacclimatise to the team with which he has worked for six years in the past.

At the end of the session, having covered 70 laps, the overall result was an encouraging first day as Alonso topped the timesheet with a best lap of 1:19.503s.

Fernando Alonso
"The result of my first day in the car is encouraging. I could not wait to drive again, but at the same time I was a bit tentative. I quickly settled back in to the team and everything went well. We made good progress throughout the day, but there is a lot still to do. I had to adapt at first to the car and get used to driving the car without traction control, but I am convinced that that soon I will be used to this and will not remember what is was like to drive with traction control."

RBR signs Vettel for 2009

Thursday, 17 July 2008 13:21

Red Bull Racing has confirmed that it has signed Sebastian Vettel to partner Mark Webber in its 2009 driver line-up.
A vacancy opened up at the Milton Keynes-based squad following David Coulthard's decision to retire at the end of this season, and Vettel has been widely tipped for promotion from Red Bull's 'B' team Toro Rosso.
However there has also been speculation that RBR was trying to entice double world champion Fernando Alonso away from Renault, but the Spaniard remains non-committal about his plans for next year and has been linked to a move to Ferrari in 2010.
Team principal Christian Horner said he was confident that, despite Vettel's youth and relative inexperience, the 21-year-old German was the right choice.
"We are delighted that Sebastian will be joining us next year," said Horner.
"With David Coulthard announcing his retirement as a Formula 1 driver a fortnight ago at the British Grand Prix, after careful consideration, it seemed natural to announce his replacement here at Sebastian's home race in Hockenheim.
"As he was already part of the Red Bull family, choosing Sebastian as Mark Webber's team-mate was not a difficult decision.

Worst Internet Connection In The Whole World

Posted: 26 Aug 2013 12:23 AM PDT

Reliance Internet is one of the worst Internet Service providers in the whole world they do not respect a customer in any manner such big dumb A**** they are.

I've had their connection since last 7-8 years and continuously for a period of 4-7 Days every month the Internet did not work, I did not ask for a waiver though ever. But since this February the connection became a nuisance and a headache. From 15th Feb 2013 the connection literally stopped working and continuously gave the error LIMITED OR NO NETWORK CONNECTIVITY. By 15th March 2013 the issue was raised and notified to the level of Regional Manager and Appellate Authority but no action was taken. Disconnection request was lodged then the issue was resolved for few days. Again after few days the issue came up again and now the situation worsened to the state that the Internet was working only for 1 or 2 days every week and that too for only 2-4 Hours. The issue was continuously raised complaints were lodged every day regardless of the tension and of calling the customer care everyday lodging a complaint. This issue was never resolved finally I made my decision to disconnect the connection on May 10 2013. In this time period of 15th March to 10th May the connection worked for a total of 7 Days. Waiver and disconnection request was lodged no response for a week. Response comes back to pay the BILL for using F***** Up Internet connection. No Action taken for a Month on either the waiver or the disconnection even when I continuously called them up. Now the status is that they are asking me to pay Outstanding Amount of 2452 Rs. which is if looked upon for 7 days of Internet connection.

As I have Chain Mails to prove the case and loads of complaint numbers still they are paying no heed and are not even accepting that the connection was so S***** and are still asking me to pay even though I've mentioned calculate the bill for the days it worked perfectly I will pay that amount but they want me to pay the complete amount which is senseless and B*******.

Good Luck With Reliance Broadband

../..

E-mails to the RCOM APPELLATE AUTHORITY and PRESIDENT CUSTOMER CARE SERVICES.

My name , Gurgaon, Haryana. My User ID 249275404221 and the connection is a Broadband Internet.

I have been using the Reliance Broadband Internet since last 10 years and I have only got it disconnected once but got the connection restored after few months again. This has been mentioned to show the loyalty with which I have been using your services. Now coming to the main situation.

The scenario here at my end is there hasn't been a single month in last 10 years when the connection has worked properly without causing any issues 5-7 times every month. Now there is only I'd say a maximum of 2-3 connections in my area who are using Reliance as their ISP and one of them is me. The issue is that the services have never been useful when needed and around last year end I was promised that an EDP will be moved towards my house so that my Internet issues will be resolved to provide a permanent solution to the situation mentioned above. That was achieved after a month of tiresome calls to the customer care, registering complaints and still not receiving any resolution.

But that was not done and the plan has been canceled as far as I know but it was promised by the FAULT TOLERANCE MANAGER named Mr. Narendra Chikara and many other managers who came to asses the situation at my place.

Now the issues still persists and it has been again a month of hell I've gone through continuously calling Reliance Customer Care everyday since last month sometimes even Twice in a single day for the same issue that is "LIMITED AREA OR NO CONNECTIVITY" or the EDP dying down or falling short of electrical supply. I have not received a single call from the concerned authorities to even ask why I have registered almost 30 complaints in 25 days forget about the permanent resolution. I've also not taken any waivers although every month my Internet does not work for a minimum of 8-10 days and the billing departments also does not act upon it either.

My connection is working from a EDP which is around 200 meters away connected by a router or I suppose they call it DAISY SWITCH which helps my connection remain active. I have installed FIREWALLS on both my desktop and laptop just because your technical team thinks the issue was occurring because of me not having any ANTI-VIRUSES installed on any of the machines. Again the issue did not get resolved this was like a 4 months ago.

So summarizing the story of a DECADE long RELIANCE BROADBAND INTERNET SERVICES I'd say every month the connection is out for a minimum of 8-10 days and for this month it hasn't even worked properly for a time span of complete 24 hours in this MARCH 2013.

I request you to pleaseeeeeeeee look into this matter because if you will check the records I've lodged around a thousands of complaints in last few years but still no permanent resolution. I do not want a perfect connection but what I request you to do is at least provide me a resolution which makes my net work for 28 days out of 30 days thats all I ask for.

I really do not want to leave Reliance as my ISP. Please assist me in the situation in some way.

Hi,

My internet connection disconnects frequently. Adsl light on modem goes off & on after certain amount of time. I have Dlink GLB 502T modem which has inbuilt splitter.

One thing to mention here is if I put off the reciever of my landline telephone intenet connection lasts longer.

Besides , there are several joints to our telephone cable.

What could be the possible reason behind frequent disconnections.

Former Champ: Schu could return to racing

Saturday 1st December 2007

Former F1 Champion Alan Jones reckons Michael Schumacher may be considering a comeback after an impressive test at Barcelona two week's ago.

Although Schumacher retired from F1 at the end of the 2006 season, the German returned to action with Ferrari at the Spanish track in the first of the winter tests.

The seven-time World Champion proved to be the man to beat as he dominated the timesheets during his two days of testing.

And although Schumacher has stated many times that his test does not mean he will be making a competitive comeback, Jones reckons the thought has to have crossed Schumi's mind.

"After nearly a year out of the saddle, I can image him thinking, 'Maybe I'd like to have another go.' It must be just like coming back from an extended Christmas break," Jones told Autosport.

"He used to take a couple of months off at the end of each season, so another few months won't make a big difference. Two or three years might have done.

"It's a win-win situation: Ferrari gains from his expertise and he enjoys it. And you can never rule out a comeback - he might be thinking, 'I'm really enjoying this!' Money won't be his motivation, it will be to prove a point.

"Niki Lauda was out for several seasons and came back and won the title. Michael could do the same."

Schumacher misses Massa's wedding day

Dec.3 (GMM) A representative for Michael Schumacher has played down speculation that he may have fallen out with his former Ferrari teammate Felipe Massa.

In the presence of many of his Ferrari colleagues, 26-year-old married his fiancee Rafaela Bassi, who is 27, in Sao Paulo last Friday, according to reports from Brazil and Italy.

Among the 800 guests were team bosses Jean Todt and Stefano Domenicali, as well as Mario Almondo, Aldo Costa and Luca Baldisserri -- but not Schumacher, his 2006 teammate.

Massa's countryman Rubens Barrichello also attended, reports said.

Days earlier, the former seven time world champion, Schumacher, won a karting event hosted by Massa in the southern Brazilian city of Florianopolis.

The German newspaper Bild am Sonntag said Schumacher had celebrated Massa's impending marriage with his former teammate and friend in the days prior.

A representative for Schumacher said: "Michael is currently in the United States for a family vacation."

Hamilton pleased after maiden MP4-23 run

10 Jan 2008

McLaren's Lewis Hamilton is feeling positive after completing his first laps in the team's 2008 challenger, the MP4-23, on Thursday. Hamilton was in action at Jerez alongside new team mate Heikki Kovalainen, as the British squad continued their three-day private test at the Spanish circuit.

"It was fantastic to get my hands on the MP4-23 this morning in Jerez," said the 23 year-old. "I saw the completed car for the first time on Monday at the team's launch in Stuttgart and I have been pretty impatient since then! My first run was at 09:10 and my first impressions are encouraging.

"I covered over 103 laps, which is 456kms, today. Considering this is only the second day the car has been on track, I am pretty happy with that. We have a lot of work to do, but now we have a real understanding of where we are starting from. I will be back in the MP4-23 with Heikki tomorrow and I am looking forward to continuing the programme and moving forward."

Kovalainen, who got his first taste of the new car on Wednesday, alongside tester Pedro de la Rosa, was equally pleased with his own progress.

"Today was my second day with the MP4-23 and I have now been able to complete over 447kms in total," said the Finn. "We are all still spending time learning about the car and starting to get used to it. That we were on track for 204 laps in total today is definitely helping us to learn and progress with the car.

"For me in particular the car is very different from last year, and I have been focusing on that side of things. Settling into the team has been very easy."

Hamilton clocked the day's best time, a 1m 19.132s, while Kovalainen's best lap was completed in 1m 19.462s. The duo will continue to test at the track on Friday.

Five-year FIA cost-culling plan revealed
15/10/08

A British newspaper has revealed the FIA's five-year plan to radically slash costs, with the body's president arguing Formula One has become 'unsustainable'.

The centrepiece of the package, to be discussed with the F1 teams' alliance FOTA next week in Geneva, is the standardisation of expensive car parts that add little to the show.

The London publication The Times claims that Bernie Ecclestone, the Chief Executive of F1's commercial rights holder, backs the Max Mosley-devised plan to 'dramatically' cut costs.

Among the measures is the introduction of a controversial standard engine design for 2010, additional energy recovery systems and fuel-efficient engines for 2013, and many 'common parts' for the chassis.

"We are completely open to new ideas," Mosley, albeit insisting that engines must be made available to small teams at a low cost, said in a letter to the team bosses.

An FIA spokesman said he will not comment prior to the meeting.

MS staff

There was a pilot flying a small single engine charter plane, with a couple of very important executives on board. He was coming into Seattle airport through thick fog with less than 10m visibility when his instruments went out. So he began circling around looking for landmark. After an hour or so, he starts running pretty low on fuel and the passengers are getting very nervous. Finally, a small opening in the fog appears and he sees a tall building with one guy working alone on the fifth floor. The pilot banks the plane around, rolls down the window and shouts to the guy "Hey! Where am I?" To this, the solitary office worker replies "You're in a plane." The pilot rolls up the window, executes a 275 degree turn and proceeds to execute a perfect blind landing on the runway of the airport 5 miles away. Just as the plane stops, so does the engine as the fuel has run out.

The passengers are amazed and one asks how he did it. "Simple" replies the pilot, "I asked the guy in that building a simple question. The answer he gave me was 100 percent correct but absolutely useless, therefore that must be Microsoft's support office and from there the airport is just a while away."

Is Windows a virus?

No, Windows is not a virus. Here's what viruses do:
They replicate quickly Okay, Windows does that

Viruses use up valuable system resources, slowing down the system as they do so okay, Windows does that

Viruses will, from time to time, trash your hard disk Okay, Windows does that, too

Viruses are usually carried, unknown to the user, along with valuable programs and systems Sigh... Windows does that, too

Viruses will occasionally make the user suspect their system is too slow (see 2) and the user will buy new hardware Yup, that's with Windows, too

Until now it seems Windows is a virus but there are fundamental differences: Viruses are well supported by their authors, are running on most systems, their program code is fast, compact and efficient and they tend to become more sophisticated as they mature

So, Windows is *not* a virus
