However, I was unable to find it using the search function. Can someone please post the contact details of some important people in MTNL (MD, Chief Engineer, Delhi head etc...), who I can get in touch with regarding a persistent issue that customer care cannot help me with? I remember there being a post quite some time ago in which the poster mentioned that if you e-mail certain people they will make sure that your complaint is followed up and looked in to. | Can't Configure my Router to work with bsnl wimax Posted: 25 Aug 2013 12:39 AM PDT Hi !! I can't configure my router to work. I can't use the router default gateway 192.168.1.1 to configure the router when it is connected to the internet, as the ip is used by BSNL Wimax Interface. I finally managed to configure the default gateway to 192.168.1.2 but the internet refused to work i can't connect to the Internet. So, i reseted the router to make it work again. Please help !! |

| Tata Docomo 3G for USB tethering on Laptop Posted: 25 Aug 2013 12:28 AM PDT Hello all!
This is my first topic in this forum, and it is partly a complaint and partly a request for more information about my problem with Tata docomo.
Firstly, my handset (Asus fonepad) is not supported by Tata docomo as I have seen it in their website. I bought Tata docomo sim 2 months ago and recharged with Rs250 to get 3G internet access along with phone call facility. But since the handset is not supported, I had to manually enter APN (Tata.docomo.internethvc).
It worked well, but my internet is extremely intermittent. Sometimes it works (I can see blue 'H' symbol on my fonepad) and sometimes it gets disconnected for long periods of time. Yet, other times it works only partially (I see grey symbol of 'H' on my fonepad near the signal strength symbol) such that only some websites open and most of the websites do not open (including google!).
So my question is if it is the problem with Tata docomo 3G service itself or is the problem with my device? Or is my internet plan (Rs250 ) the wrong one? My device supports both GSM and WCDMA modes. In case there is any internet plan that will allow me 24/7 internet connectivity on my fonepad?
Should I change my ISP to Airtel or Idea? I was told by the Tata Docomo staff in their shop that intermittent internet connectivity is a normal problem for 3G and exists for all the service providers. Is this true?

Posted: 25 Aug 2013 12:20 AM PDT I'm trying to get a Beam connection (Yeah, I know the customer service/care is horrible, but it has the best plans from my area, Golconda, which is kinda remote-ish) and they said that they've tried to give connections in my area before, but that the "local" cable guys intervened and told them things like "This is our area, only we give connections to people here," so the Beam guys backed off to avoid any arguments.
I am trying to convince the Beam guys to give the connection in my area after assuring them that I will take care of matters if anyone interferes.

| Posted: 24 Aug 2013 11:57 PM PDT Hi , I'm using BSNL bb ULD 1425 so i should get 4 mbps speed(Download speed should be around 500kbps) but i'm getting a download speed of only 120kbps.Torrent downloads are not even crossing 70kbps. Even i tried downloading from microsoft server but only 120kbps. What could be the problem.??Does any one experiencing the issue??? |

I just shifted to Punjab..near DeraBassi..I'm searching for a new ISP and from the reviews i heard that Connect was providing good service..But i found out that they don't have feasibility in my area..So all i'm left with is BSNL and airtel..I'm inclined towards BSNL as it is cheaper but please guide me..
ALso more importantly i have never used modem/router as previously i used reliance dongle for my net connection issues..but that broke down and now i need a new modem cum router too.. BSNL is providing me the modem and charging 1800 for it but i don't think that modem would be too good..

| Very Awkward Routing - Ireland to India - BSNL Broadband Posted: 24 Aug 2013 11:20 AM PDT Hi Guys, here is the result of a traceroute performed on BSNL Broadband from Ireland to India.
Routing is Europe------>Atlantic------->North America-------->Pacific--------->South Asia------->India.
Isn't this route awkward ?
Shouldn't the correct & shorter route be through West Coast of India ?
14 Hops within BSNL Network not responding to traceroute queries.
Why BSNL is hiding it's intra-network routers ?
