Review Needed about AirWire

Hi,

I am Anand from Mahadevapura, Bangalore. I am having BSNL Dataone [phone line dead since last 5 months :( ] and Tataphoton+.
As my BSNL line is dead since last 5 months and N number rounds and complaint to BSNL didnt prove positive and I think Tataphoton+ is expensive for a user lke me who does more downloads. So I want to move to some other ISP.

I tried calling many ISPs, some are costly and some doesn't have feasibility in my lane/ area I reside in though its available some 100s of meters aways.
People from Reliance, Spectranet, Railwire did come to my house to check the feasibility, but Reliance completely denied pulling a line though there junction box is very near compared to other ISPs. Spectranet and Railwire both say the service is available in my area but it will take some more time to pull a line to my street, they have asked few more weeks of time from me, but they are not guaranteeing me about pulling the line.

Today one of my friend gave me a pamphlet Ad about company called AirWire. I am hearing the company name for the 1st time. I did a search and found a url which shows the content of Airwire, though the domain name points to justdialboadband.com ( http://www.justdialbroadband.com/ ).
I called the number provided in the pamphlet. He too said he will come to my home today evening will check for the feasibility in my street though its present in my locality.

I request people to give there review if they have come across this service provider called AirWire.

Requesting Admin to create a seperate section for Airwire if Airwire is a Service provider.

Finished first season. It reminds me of two shows... First Collar on how it is presented. Mad Men because the character of Harvey Specter is so freaking similar to Don Draper.

The problem is that Specter is like 5% of what Draper is. It just does not feel solid enough. When Draper talks, you listen. When Specter talks, you hope that he would say something that would impress you. Sadly, it does not happen very often.

I've been seeing Validity of 24-Aug-2013 on my prepaid for more than a year now in U.P.(East), recently checked on a friends Airtel and he's having 20 or so years remaining  :pissed-off:

 

Using this cellphone occasionally but Its recharged for 2G usage and voice top-up from time to time.

 

Even with recharges over Rs.200 in last 30-45 days the validity has not increased,

 

As per my english understanding TRAI guidelines say Rs.200 within 6 months should be done, now when I've already done those recharges why I am shown FIXED Validity.

 

Should I port this number ??????

What to do when the DSL light is off?

So for a week now, I've been unable to access the internet because the DSL light is off (not blinking). This has happened before and usually comes back on when a lineman comes to my premises and fixes it. Does anyone know the procedure to fix it? Is it because a loose cable or something that I can fix on my own?

I have been reliance broadband user since its start in Delhi, India. However, after disconnection they have shown me the colors which I have never imagined of them. This is the worst customer experience I have been offered by RCOM since its inception in Delhi.

 

Poor Handling of customers by current RCOM team. I have called all the customer care numbers, written e-mails to Reliance broadband and reliance customer care but no relief only painful days to get my hard earned cash back.

 

My plight is given below

Subject:  Refund of Amount in respect of User ID No. 360198175753 in the name of VED PRAKASH

 
After that your representative came to my premises and took away the equipments installed at my house and given slip for this and told us that we will get the refund within 45 days.

I have disconnected the reliance broadband connection in the month of March (12-3-2013) due to problems in the internet services provided by RCOM under WIMAX (no signals). 

 
 
However even aftery expiry of 60 days period i have not received my refund amount. However, i have received a bill stating negative balance of Rs.3982.98 (Total Charges on Reliance Internet Service User ID 360198175753).
 
However the amount for refund is allowed w.e.f. 25-03-2013 but i have requested for disconnection w.e.f. 12-03-2013 and your customer care told me that i will be allowed refund w.e.f. 12/13-03-2013.
 
Hence it is once again requested to issue my refund amount cheque at the earliest (as 45 days period quoted by your company has already lapsed)

MTNL Broadband VDSL2 User Experiences

I wanted to start a new experience thread simply to discuss MTNL VDSL.

Some things to consider before/after taking a new VDSL connection

 

SNR margins (SNRM)
Below 9 dB : Poor experience with lots of HEC and CRC errors. Line will disconnect frequently.
9   - 11  dB : Ok but not ideal. Disconnections will be there if some unexpected variance is introduced by rains, humidity in the wire.
12 - 16  dB : Ideal and realistic value. Expect almost no disconnections as the line has more wiggle room for tolerating variances.
17 dB and up : God Mode. Lucky few get this on VDSL synced at 30 mbps and up. So far I have seen various stats and no one has reported this SNRM (That is because VDSL sync rates are always higher)

 

Higher you sync rate, lower the SNRM will be. Lower the SNRM, lower the connection reliability. Lower reliability means frequent disconnections. Hence ISP's have a setting in DSLAM to artificially increase SNRM value for a particular phone line. Hence you sync at lower rate and line automagically becomes stable.

 

Attenuation may not be that important after all. It reduces sync speeds over a distance but is not an indicator of connection reliability. (You can roughly calculate your line length from it. Do it here)

Apply for VDSL connection only if you are within half km. Otherwise you will get ADSL like sync rates.

I will update this entry with some of our findings. Since VDSL is somewhat new to India, this thread can help some early adopters.

 

Currently the speeds are decent for fast servers. But single streams are slow due to a bottleneck somewhere.

Tata DOCOMO INTERNET APN does not work most of the times

Hi, since last month I've been using internet booster card on my android mobile with TATA DOCOMO number. When I put the sim first time in the mobile I received three APN settings, one for browsing their portal which is Tata Docomo Dive In, one for MMS and one for all other activities which is Tata Docomo Internet. But most of the time my mobile is not able to connect to the Tata Docomo Internet APN which is for general propose, but some times when it does connects i get good speed and able to access internet normally. But I can connect to the other APN Tata Docomo Dive In without a problem which is for accessing their portal but with Tata Docomo Dive In setting I'm not able to access internet through any apps like facebook, opera mini, maps and etc. I tried calling customer care but it turned out to be no use :( I think Docomo is trying to cheat people by offering cheap net plans which is of no use... Any solutions??? Or anyone else facing such problem?

A British newspaper has revealed the FIA's five-year plan to radically slash costs, with the body's president arguing Formula One has become 'unsustainable'.

The centrepiece of the package, to be discussed with the F1 teams' alliance FOTA next week in Geneva, is the standardisation of expensive car parts that add little to the show.

The London publication The Times claims that Bernie Ecclestone, the Chief Executive of F1's commercial rights holder, backs the Max Mosley-devised plan to 'dramatically' cut costs.

Among the measures is the introduction of a controversial standard engine design for 2010, additional energy recovery systems and fuel-efficient engines for 2013, and many 'common parts' for the chassis.


"We are completely open to new ideas," Mosley, albeit insisting that engines must be made available to small teams at a low cost, said in a letter to the team bosses.

An FIA spokesman said he will not comment prior to the meeting.

BSNL Broadband capacity is down by around 21%
