| How much time dos it take MTNL to fix the line? *really frustrated* Posted: 01 Aug 2013 03:12 AM PDT So it's been 4 day and my internet is dead, the adsl line light is not showing, I've been complaining each day but they just don't care, nobody has shown up yet and i have no idea how much time is it going to take? this is terrible because my internet has been crap all month and they did not fix it and now it's dead.
anyone know a better idea to get my line fixed? please let me know |

| Buying and Selling products through OLX Posted: 01 Aug 2013 02:43 AM PDT I am giving it a second try. I listed my 2012 Google Nexus 7 3G 2 days ago. Just got one query. But as expected, it was quite absurd. He wants me to drop the price 40%. Claims to have Google as his client. Says Google is offering him the 2013 edition of the 3G variant for Rs. 18000 (US price is going to be above Rs. 22000). It's fun. I told him to get it because it is an excellent deal. He said he is planning on getting that but wanted a backup device for testing. I am assuming he is an Android developer and if he is right, Google seems to be offering the new model at pretty amazing prices to developers here in India even before it is launched in the US market.
Listed two more products for variety. I know people here have had much success with OLX. Share your stories! |
| ACT Broadband Bangalore Reviews Posted: 01 Aug 2013 02:34 AM PDT Hello Readers, My name is Vivek Sinha Anurag and i am going to post some "great" work shown by Act Broadband. I applied for ACT Broadband 5 Mbps plan [its having cap value of 35GB after that speed will reduce to 256 kbps] by calling their customer care on 16th Aug 2011. I was surprised to see their lightening fast response as the representative came to my doorstep the very next day and on 17th Aug 2011 Mr Ashitt O.S. collected the money and documents and told me that withing 5 days i will get my connection and i even got sms confirmation that my request no is 142263. Now the real story started. Even after 6 days no one ever bothered to check my request so i called customer care [ 080-42840000] to remind them and i was told that i will get it withing next 2 days. I waited for next 2 days and called them again. I was surprised to learn a new technical term from them that they are "Uploading network" hence its taking time and soon i will get my connection. Since my work was getting affected because of their delay i applied for a BSNL connection too. Now today is 5th September and i am still waiting for the connection and to my surprise i got the BSNL broadband last week. I tried escalating this matter and asked the customer care for any high level contact and they said that i need to mail helpdesk@acttv.in. I emailed them but i got no response. Please note some points regarding ACT broadband before applying ACT broadband 1. They dont have nodal officer/appellate authority [against TRAI rules and i have already escalated this matter to TRAI officials with the help of pgportal.gov.in] 2. They have a customer base of 2500 users in bangalore and they are not able to manage even this small number. 3. They DO NOT PROVIDE STATIC IP [even if they claim to do so] 4. Their customer care service is useless. All you will losse is your balance by talking to them 5. They can "Upload network" [You can imagine the understanding capability of their technicians] 6. They are fast in collecting money but lazy in delivering service Final conclusion: To be on safe side stay away from them else you will suffer like me. Morning shows the day and even before using their service i am suffering. Don't know what will happen when i get the connection and i face any problem that time. |

| Fake BSNL speed test results ! Posted: 01 Aug 2013 02:19 AM PDT Hey! I don't know whats wrong with BSNL i am getting fake results on two of speed testing websites(I.e. Speedtest.net and bsnlspeedtest.in) . I have tried almost all the available servers in india. I am getting around 1.50 - 1.60mbps on all on them but whenever i try to download something ,the download speed stays at 115-120kBps ? Isn't it supposed to be 200+kBps ? I know i have a 1mbps FUPED connection but i am just curious why the hell i am getting fake results with BSNL network !! |

I have recently tried to connect my TS HD+ STB to the internet in wired format. The STB could not connect when running the wire from the router's port but could connect from the modem's port. Now, the modem has only one port and thus I will need to plug in / plug out each time I want to use the VOD. Any suggestions to overcome this in the present set-up? I would be willing to change the internet hardware to a modem/router combo if this is required. Would like to have hardware suggestions here too. Was also wondering, if I use a switch at the STB end for connecting to STB, TV, future BD player, would it have the same problem all over again? |
| Want a new wired internet connection in thane west Posted: 01 Aug 2013 01:57 AM PDT I am currently a user of reliance netconnect. I have a 10GB night & 3 GB day plan. I get an avg speed of 40-50 kbps. In the night, it is worse. I'm sick of slow speed of reliance, and want to get a wired internet connection. I live in Thane west, brahmand area. I want an isp which could give 2-4mbps at least (but comforms to its promise). My monthly usage would be around 20 GB. And bugdet would be about 800-100 bucks. I'm confused between MTNL and 5Net. There's also 1&1broadband, available in my area. i want to know about 5Net & MTNL, its speed consistency, downtime and disconnections. I've never used wired internet before, so, pls help me out with this. And, one more thing, I dont know anything about DC++? I heard 5Net offers it. It would be really helpful if you tell me about all of this? |

Good mileage and decent after sales service 2.)Travel about 40 to 45 km a day. 3.)Reliable heard Honda's Dio , Suziki's Access 125 and Honda's Aviator are the best for the above 3 points. Any other you guys know/used/recommend as mileage and reliability is main concern for my Father. He's considering TVS XL too lol but I'm trying to make him not take that. Is that still the king of mileage and overall comfort? |

The connection comes through a RJ45 connection. Is there a way to plug the service provider's connection into "DNA A211 I" modem and enjoy wireless connectivity in all rooms. Basically I would want to use wireless on laptop using "DNA A211 I" modem using internet provided by LAN RJ45 |

| SUN DIRECT HD., Cheating. Not True HD Posted: 31 Jul 2013 09:44 PM PDT Hi Friends, I bought a SUN DIRECT HD dth by exchanging my standard definition. They discounted Rs. 500 for the Old Box and replaced the new HD box. The experience of getting this connection was very bad as usual. 1. I Booked through customer care. and they said it will take maximum 5 working days to give the new connection. 2. They committed that exchange of old box is valid for Rs 500 3. They also said, there is a spice jet offer. If i take a Value pack for 2990, after i will be getting 3 * 1000 rs Spice jet vouchers. Next the dealer called me and said he can come. But he never know these offers are exists. When i said customer care told this he was wondering and said he will check with CC. After two days the technician came with two helping boys. the technician is not profession and he was looking like a local electrician. He was struggling to fix the dish and get the signal.. pity he was trying to train the new two boys who came for the help. After a one hour struggle, he managed to get the SD signals, but the HD signals said "NO signal", so again he was going down and up on stairs and installing this dish for more than 1 hour. After this installation, he called his dealer and activated a pack. I was under impression that everything is ok.. and i am all set to enjoy my HD Services on my LG LED 32 inch. I was surfing the HD channels one by one.. and it was a real shock. 1. SUN TV - Only Movies are coming in HD and other selected programs in weekend, rest of the time they show the SD content. It is not even upscale image. 2. K TV - It is real FAKE HD channel, Only logo shows KD TV, but all the 24 HRS they show the SD content. There is not even a single HD content. 3. SUN MUSIC - Newer songs and VJ compering comes in HD, it is 80% HD channel, the old content are not upsacled. Advertisement and SD content comes in 4:3 letter box, which makes irritating and your image size keep re sizing between HD and SD content. 4. Discovery HD - Full HD 5. NGC - Full HD 6. Star Movies - Full HD 7. Zee Studio - Full HD 8. Gemini HD - FAKE HD, they do not show any HD content, only the logo says Gemini HD., not even the Movies like SUN TV on weekends, So as a conclusion you are getting only 4 true HD channels, rest of them are partial HD or no HD at all. So it is very clear cheating of SUN DIRECT. I never recommend this connection to any one. ================ Coming to the spice jet offer : As it was more than two week i was wondering why still i did get the voucher. Called up the CC, they said, the pack activated by dealer does not eligible for the offer. If i need this offer i need to recharge for 1999 rs again. Bullshit.... dealer activated the wrong pack and i lost my offer. CC simply said contact the dealer.. that dealer as i said before.. he is a fool and he does not understand anything. talking to him is utter waste. Tatasky is best and i used it the SD connection for 4 years and HD for 1 year. |
| Airtel's Smart Combo ULM 2GB plan is a joke Posted: 31 Jul 2013 09:35 PM PDT I have the above plan , earlier I was on a higher plan but their broadband service was so pathetic that I decided to stop looking at Airtel as my main broadband provider .I have continued this connection as a fallback and for the landline
Guess what , the other day my regular broadband had a hitch and I am supposedly getting 2GB with 2Mbps under my Smart combo plan and I am paying monthly 550 INR for it ,for the first time when I switched to Airtel broadband in 3 months , it does not work I do not even get continous 256kbps speed for browsing forget 2Mbps ..I do not know what they are charging me INR 550 for monthly .
I needed the landline so I have continued their number ..but the thought that they are taking me for a ride gets me ..Same kind of anger I used to feel when I see the a crooked rickshaw guy showing me his rigged rickshaw meter and asking me to pay more
