Promotional SPAM over USSD Posted: 10 Aug 2013 03:00 AM PDT Although I have enrolled myself into the NCCP Registry as a do not call customer, but still getting lots of promotional messages on my mobile number. I am exhaustibly using the 'India Against Spam'  Android application thus disconnecting over 10 Spamming mobile numbers in a week.   From yesterday I have started seeing a new trend...Vodafone has started pushing the promotional messages over the USSD and since USSD messages are not saved and there is no log made, how to report such kind of prommotional messages?

Videocon announces HD DVR with 1000GB Hard Drive Posted: 10 Aug 2013 02:41 AM PDT   Videocon d2h has added the 1000GB storage capacity version of the HD Recorder, for their Direct to Home (DTH) service. The company says that this translates into 1775 hours of recording. This DVR was unveiled at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards held at Macau. Like the current 500GB version, the 1000GB version will also offer the ability to record two channels simultaneously and also offers Auto Serial Recording. This DVR also has the 3D capability, and Videocon d2h offers one 3D channel on the platform. No word yet on when this DVR will be available in the market, or the price.   Source

How do I get Reliance wireline connection in Chennai? Posted: 10 Aug 2013 12:24 AM PDT So after being fed up with BSNL, I decided to try out reliance wire-line broadband connection. But problem is, how do I get the connection?   I tried to call them but they ask me to enter my 'Registered phone number or subscriber ID" in order to proceed. Needless to say, to have none of those. I even tried mailing them but haven't got any reply so far. Filled up even their online form and submitted it yet I did not get any call from them.    So if anyone has any idea how to get in contact with them and get connection / information regarding fixing of broadband, please let me know.    Thanks!

You are doing an atrocious job. So I'm putting it out for people to warn that you SHOULD stay away from ACT, trust me, they just don't care whatever you do. You don't pay, they don't care, you shout on the phone, they don't care, you are nice to them, they don't care. So yea, looks like they made of customers and are stealing their money anyway thus the shamelessness.     Please think upteen times before you call them and say you want a connection.   We have 3 connections alone running in my house, these are the phone numbers registered 1. 9740368951 2. 9538049999 3. 9900910294 I've been having serious problems with the internet, we all use it often and there are disconnections every other alternate day, No kidding. Nobody, I repeat, NOBODY attends to us. What is your problem really in this area? Why don't the technicians attend ASAP? They take days to come and fix a problem when you call, and then the next day, it disconnects and then nobody hears you out.   I've been thinking, you should remove the "GOOD" testimonials off your website and replace them with what we write here. I still have Airtel running in my house, I'm glad this has been my backup, now if you guys don't attend/call me the moment you read this mail, I'm going to have this connection disconnected since it's been really useless for me. I can't keep paying for services that aren't attended. Standardising Formula One machinery Five-year FIA cost-culling plan revealed 15/10/08 A British newspaper has revealed the FIA's five-year plan to radically slash costs, with the body's president arguing Formula One has become 'unsustainable'. The centrepiece of the package, to be discussed with the F1 teams' alliance FOTA next week in Geneva, is the standardisation of expensive car parts that add little to the show. The London publication The Times claims that Bernie Ecclestone, the Chief Executive of F1's commercial rights holder, backs the Max Mosley-devised plan to 'dramatically' cut costs. Among the measures is the introduction of a controversial standard engine design for 2010, additional energy recovery systems and fuel-efficient engines for 2013, and many 'common parts' for the chassis. Vodafone Rs 95 2G Pack Data and Validity decreased Posted: 09 Aug 2013 09:47 PM PDT I did a recharge of Rs 95 last month and when I was on roaming checked the data balance to realize that I just was given 600 MB and the validity is just 21 days, I didn't take screenshot of the page that said it's going to give me 1GB data with a months validity period. Rs 95 for 600MB data is absurd I stopped using 3G as I realized that most of the time my phone is on 2G to save battery.

Airtel 8 Mbps 30GB ADSL Boradband Plan Posted: 09 Aug 2013 09:31 PM PDT Hi there,   I have taken a 8 Mbps with a cap of 30 GB plan from Airtel in New Delhi. They are promising me d/l speed of 8 Mbps. However upload speed is not defined by them anywhere. I get an download speed of 6-7 Mbps and an upload speed of 0.37Kbps. Screen shot attached.    Can someone tell me what should be the proper upload seed on a 8 Mbps download pipe on an Airtel account? I am planing to take them to the consumer court on this, as they don't tell while selling their services that this is what they are giving as in upload and download speeds etc.    Can anyone give me a world standard norms for DSL broadband speed? Fake court officials, lawyers and arrest warrants Posted: 09 Aug 2013 04:29 PM PDT Reliance communication recovery agent pose as Court officials and lawyers. The fake court official from another city calls up tells you that an arrest warrant has been issued in your name and you need to call up a lawyer for out of court settlement in another hour. The fake lawyer asks you to pay the wrongly charged reliance bill in one hour saying that otherwise you will be arrested. All of this was done when I have been wrongly overcharged by reliance broadband and I have already done overpayment. They claim that I need  to pay Rs 1000 more, although Reliance needs to refund me more than Rs 2500.
