Connectivity issue - use of Session History data

All the learned members of the Forum,

I am a subscriber of ADSL Broadband service at my residence land line.

For the last few days , I am facing an interruption in otherwise continuous Internet service .

The ADSL LED on the ADSL modem either becomes completely off or blink
intermittently but never seems to get stabilized for a long time. As per
MTNL lineman the line is functioning properly. The LED do get stablised
of its own at many a times at irregular intervals thus breaking the
continuous availability of the Internet service.

I had observed from the Session History of the account that the sessions are of very short duration i.e. for less than a minute



Many a times it is also observed that although the ADSL LED was stable, no ping to
external DNS server could be possible including the browsing and other
net activity.

Whether session his troy records can be utillised in any manner to establish the connectivity problem and non availability of Internet service , being faced by me. If so, I request the learned members of the Forum to kindly to inform me the manner in which it may be used.

MTNL Broadband is inserting Adphonso powered malware on all customer devices

I have MTNL ADSL broadband in Delhi. Today I saw this popup on the side when I connected online (I removed my telephone number from the image):

After looking for the inserted code, I discovered that MTNL is inserting iframes inside the webpages!

 

The popup is being loaded from http://www.adphonso.com/testmtnl.php?CSID=22221504@mtnl

 

(I changed the telephone number in the URL above) More scrips are inserted from MTNL address 203.94.243.40

 

The adphonso website belongs to an adversiting company and that is a big problem :(

 

 

Are you guys seeing this sort of popups too? If yes, do you think is it safe?

 

I think this way inserting codes inside webpages is not good for the privacy of users.

Shahrukh up in arms against Robot September 04, 2008Shahrukh Khan had initially planned to produce and act in Shankar’s Robot. But this plan did not take off and the offer finally landed on superstar Rajinikanth. With the film being made in Tamil, the director decided to opt for a name change to get the tax sops announced by the Tamil Nadu government for films with Tamil names. It is now believed that Robot will be rechristened Yenthram.

Frequent Disconnection / ADSL blinking Issue on MTNL Broadband

Hi, I am a user of 849NU plan of MTNL Triband service since August based out of Navi Mumbai. All of August, i was very happy to have a lovely connection and good speeds, with a pretty good tariff. But now since the past 15 days I am suffering from very intermittent net connection. Although I am connected to the internet, sometimes the webpages take ages to open, and never open, while at other times it opens instantly. Also downloading has the same pattern, sometimes I get very good speeds of upto 200 Kbps, while other times there is no download. Although all download sites show good Triband Speed, but it is the intermittent connection that is the problem. This problem has crept up in the last 15 odd days, and I have tried everything but no change has been noticed. Has anyone else faced a similar problem, and if yes, whats the work around. The people at MTNL classify this as a slow connection problem, but that is exactly not the issue, as I do get good speeds intermittently. Somebody please help me.

Hello

 

i live in Thane and had registered somw months ago for FTTH after seeing ad in papers. after several months i git a call from local mtnl exchange that they want to come home to install . what they actually did was to set up a normal tel line from some box outside the building cliaiming this was the FTTh cable and next day they connected a modem (without wifi) ARGT 1000 from Alphion Coporation and left. As i was traveling on the days they came,only my wife was at home and these guys told her that everything is set up and they tested speed and it is 5 mbps.  when i returned from my tour, i was surprised to see a normal tel line connected to the modem and the speed was just about 50 kbps !! I lodged a compliant and next day the technician came (again when i was not at home) and did something and left. that day i got a speed of 400 kbps but since then the connection stopped working. the "internet" light on the modem come on. I lodged complaint again and even sopke to the officer in Prabhadevi exchange but no remedy so far. they dont seem to know anything.

 

question is:

 

any of you have similar experience ? what was your connection (did they put the ONT in your home) or just a tel line /

what type of modem/router  did you get and what speeds are you able to get?

did they give a wifi router or non wifi ?

 

i did some internet search and could not find anything (not one single hit) about this ARGT-1000 router !

 

from what i read on internet this type of connection is called Fibre to the cabinet (FTTC) - running fibre optic cables from the telephone exchange or distribution point to the street cabinets which then connect to a standard phone line to provide broadband. is mtnl really giving FTTH or only FTTC ?

 

what type of modem is the correct one ? i believe the normal ADSL modems will not work with FTTH/FTTc and we have to go for VDSL modems - is this true ? if so which are good VDSL modems ?

 

any feedback/comments appreciated

I filled the form which is on their website on april 19th 2014 and still i have got no call from them despite my 4 calls and 5 emails to them. everytime i call they say it is feasible and their service people will call me in 1 business day...

 

Is your experince like this too?? I live in pune and i am dilemma over YOU broadband and reliance wireline.

Hi everyone,

 

I'm getting a new 4Mbps connection from Airtel and I wanted to know which multiplayer FPSes are good right now.

Counterstrike and COD won't cut it for me(boring gameplay and terrible graphics). I've been considering Battlefield 3(not 4 it has performance issues with Windows 7 and I am NOT going to upgrade to 8.1 to play a damn game). Sorry, yeah so could anyone suggest something good? So I'm looking for good graphics and solid gunplay but please, please don't suggest me an MMO as I only have so much time for gaming.

How do I use spare Tikona Ruckus MM2211 as a repeater on other network?

I have two spare Tikona Ruckus MM2211 devices with me. I am using Ion cable broadband with Netgear DGN2200 N300 router. However the signal from my netgear does not reach far end of my house and I need a repeater to extend the signal. I thought the spare Tikona Ruckus MM2211 would prove to useful as a wifii repeater. However I am unable to get to the router configuration page once connected to my computer.I have reset the router several times and have also tried all possible LAN ip address that I could find on this and other forums.

Is there a way to configure the Ruckuss MM2211 for use on network other than Tikona? Please help.

I'm a MTNL triband user and thinking to shift to VDSL. Have some queries: 1. What are the installation charges including the set up, the wiring and the one-time deposits? 2. Is it necessary to keep a telephone or can I get rid of it as nobody uses land-line here. If I cannot get rid of it, then what's the monthly charge for the telephone? 3. What is the monthly charge for the VDSL wireless router?

Hi guys,

 

I have my own stock broking franchisee and i need a stable fast broadband.

 

I have an airtel broadband 1599 plan which costs 1799 with taxes and is something like 8MBPs for 30GB post that FUP.

They are going to hike charges further by 100 rs which will take it to 1899 for 30GB internet at 8MBPS and i believe it is very expensive as i don't really need 8 MBPS a 1.5-2 MBPS connection without FUP will be great for me only if its stable and shouldn't go down.. Airtel works all through the time never had a connection issue till date using it since 1 year.

 

I use TP LINK wifi router with airtel and connect my cell and lappy too along with my PC connected via DSL.

 

I would like to know whether shifting to ALLIANCE will be a good decision?

 

Which will be a good pack for me?

already they have 1-2 separate channels for just showing ads (loop) apart from ads in menu , channel info , and now start-up page.

Hi

 

Been using BSNL EVDO for past 3 Years , lately been thinking about setting up a wifi network at home to use it for other Laptops and smart phones

bought TP-Link MR 3420 wireless router thru amazon after reading reviews and getting help from this forum

 

Received the package and easily installed the network

Installation steps

 

1.Plugged in the cables , power and USB modem

 

2. To configure open browser type address 192.168.0.1

 

3. quick setup > select 3G/4G only> Fill in the username , password and dial number #777

earlier i entered the APN as bsnlnet , but it wasnt getting connected , thanks to member vspraneeth05  who has mentioned in his thread to leave

the APN TO BE LEFT BLANK

 

4. enter SSID and password details , you are done

 

5. It connects automatically to internet, provided your credentials are right

 

Identifying the modems took quite sometime for both Capitel and Micromax Modems , was holding my breath for a long time !

it says it support windows 8 , but in the installation guide it says otherway

but didnt have any problem using it on windows 8

 

LED indications are usefull

there is no wifi on/off button , there is a pinhole on the side , using a pin wifi can be switched ON/OFF or thru the browser

Using LAN cable for internet connection to Laptop and Wifi for other smartphones , Problems None

Coverage is decent , havent check every corner though

 

Getting 1.5 to 2 mbps in smart phones over wifi and 2.5 to 3 mbps in laptop thru LAN cable which is my normal speed

Saw the pilot and it was kind of intriguing. And since I played Assassin's Creed 2 i'm quite able to relate to certain characters as well. Could someone tell me why a brit is playing as Da Vinci? I found that a little awkward. And the protagonist looks like Jim Moriarty from Sherlock. Just my opinion.

Hi everyone,

How is your experience with third party sellers in online shops like Flipkart, Snapdeal or Amazon.in?

I can only order from WS Retail on Flipkart which is their own seller, and the only one shipping to my location.

But from Snapdeal or Amazon, all/most sellers ship to my pincode. Amazon Fulfilled, which I imagine is the WS Retail equivalent on Amazon, is available for very few products.

So what do you guys think? Should I order from third-party sellers?

Hi,

 

I have one Acer 21.5" LCD Monitor with HDMI, DVI and VGA port on back panel. My concern is to make the LCD Monitor into HD TV through TATA SKY HD Set top Box by connecting External speaker (Creative SBS A235 2.1 Channel).

I need your help for this connection however I tried a connection i.e. set top box HDMI out>>Monitor HDMI In and started receiving video but for audio my connection was unsuccessful. I tried for Audio, STB RCA(Red & white) out>>>RCA (Red 7 White) two Pin In to 3.5mm In Converted Cable>>3.5mm out speaker. But zoo sound is coming out from speaker. Please help for the audio connection if I am wrong somewhere kindly correct me.

Nokia India forcing employees to take Voluntary Retirement Scheme

Employees of the troubled handset maker Nokia have said the Voluntary Retirement Scheme which came into effect from today should be optional, alleging it was being forced on them.
"There are about 8,000 workers employed at the Sriperumbudur Nokia facility, which has been scaling down its operations and announced VRS for the workforce. But the management compelling the workers to accept the scheme has enraged them", a leader from the employees union told PTI on condition of anonymity.
The employees at a meeting here today decided to seek the intervention of Tamil Nadu government to strictly direct the management to make the VRS scheme optional and not mandatory.
