Tata DOCOMO INTERNET APN does not work most of the times

Hi, since last month I've been using internet booster card on my android mobile with TATA DOCOMO number. When I put the sim first time in the mobile I received three APN settings, one for browsing their portal which is Tata Docomo Dive In, one for MMS and one for all other activities which is Tata Docomo Internet. But most of the time my mobile is not able to connect to the Tata Docomo Internet APN which is for general propose, but some times when it does connects i get good speed and able to access internet normally. But I can connect to the other APN Tata Docomo Dive In without a problem which is for accessing their portal but with Tata Docomo Dive In setting I'm not able to access internet through any apps like facebook, opera mini, maps and etc. I tried calling customer care but it turned out to be no use :( I think Docomo is trying to cheat people by offering cheap net plans which is of no use... Any solutions??? Or anyone else facing such problem?

His esteem cannot be calculated by a mere ticket." His colleague Arun Jaitley added, "It is unfortunate that we could not adjust him. The party will find some other option for him."

Pathetic Experience with a new Airtel Broadband Connection

I wanted to share my experience with regard to trying out a new Airtel Broadband Connection. Here it goes, hope it helps others.

 

So I am fairly happy with my BSNL and rarely think of changing it. Recently, though, started to use youtube for study materials and found the buffering to be very annoying. So after trying to work around and analyse what else I can do, decided to try out a new connection.

Saw the reviews of ACT and Airtel, somehow as I have been using Airtel Postpaid since time immemorial, decided for it, as the service has been very good.

 

Now, see a pamphlet, asking to 'call xxxxxxx for an Airtel Broadband'. I give the guy a call, and he lands up within 10 minutes at my place. I give him all documents and ask him, when you the whole setup start working, he tells me, 'Saar, maximum by 2 days', I say, fine, no problems.

So I wait, for two days and nothing happens, call the guys and he starts to give his excuses, today, after two hours, tomorrow morning things like that. So frustrated, I call Airtel and they are even more hopeless and say 'Sir, please call the person, to whom you gave the docs, we cannot do anything'.

 

Then I call the DSA Office, they again give me crap about problems with the line. Then I call the guys manager, and he says, I will call you in 10 minutes, Does he call back - No. Not even once these guys have bothered to call me, Not even once

Today, is day 5 of this episode and the manager says, by 2pm, I will have my connection working, and guess what it is 2:10 pm right now.

 

So, wrote an email stinker to all parties and copied Airtel biggies, hope they read.

 

But this has shaken my belief is the 'so called' private companies are better. Honestly, BSNL's service is the best I have had, and if they had the same plans that Airtel has, I would pay more and get it.

Hi,

   Does anyone know how to check aircel postpaid data balance from Chennai. Customer care has given me numbers *122*011# and *133# to dial. Both end in some form of failure whenever I try. In 10 days, I seem to have gone through my data quota of 512MB. I am using 3G a bit more now, but, I find it hard to believe I am using so much...mostly for navigation and some amount of dev work. I'd like to monitor my usage on a daily basis and verify I am not being taken for a ride by aircel on my usage.

Calling customer care is a major pain. I had to call 121 3 times today to get the information. On the first call, I was told I had used 507MB of 512MB and had a balance of 247MB. When I tried to explain the information given didn't add up, the lady kept saying that is what their systems said, and then, she finally hung up on me as I was trying to explain the math to her :) On the next call, they said they would call back as they were having trouble accessing the information. To their credit, they did in 15 mins and gave me my usage. This time they just said 500 MB used and let me do the math myself on what should then be available :)

I just want an easy way to monitor my usage as recorded by aircel. Their selfcare portal is something I have given up trying to login to and the *# codes customer care gives me don't work...anybody know any other codes I can try? Thanks and end rant :)

BSNL 3G working with Mac 10.9

i have seen several threads on getting it to work on the later versions of the mac. i got it working on my macbook with 10.9. i assume this also works in all the latest varients.

 

steps to follow.

 

1. plug in 3g dongle

2. If there is a storage drive appears in the finder, eject it.

3. get to a terminal window and type "sudo kextunload -b com.apple.iokit.IOUSBMassStorageClass" to unload the storage driver associated with the 3g dongle

4. use a terminal program to connect to the modem, i use the built-in terminal program "screen"

   4a. type "screen /dev/cu.usbmodem1dxx2, xx may vary depending on which port you plugged in the modem

   4b. type "at" and enter and you should see an "ok" response

   4c. type "at+cfun=1" and it should respond with "ok' response

   4d. type "cntl(not command)+a and k to quit the screen

 

5. use the network control panel, to configure the connection. 

 

you may see multiple HSDPADatacard entries. i am not sure how these mapped to the actual device. so at this point it is trail and error. follow the below steps for each of the hspda entry.

 

1. click on HSPDADatacard to see the configuration options

2. enter *99# against the telephone number and leave the account name and password blank

3. click on advanced button at the bottom, it should bring up a new dialog box

4. change the model to GPRS(GSM/3G)

5. enter "bsnlgprs.com" in the APN dialog box

6. leave 1 as the CID number

7. click ok

 

now try to "connect" by clicking on the connect button. it should be able to connect to the network. if it doesnt work, try with other HSPDADatacard entries in the networking pane. 

 

i am actually writing this post over the 3g connection from my mac using the bsnl 3g card. :)

 

hope it helps someone.

Dear Forum Members,

I starting this thread in hope that someone may be able to help me or point me to the next steps that I need to do.

 

I moved to a new house last month. From then onwards, I am trying to get an internet connection. I contacted Airtel in 12th Feb regarding a new connection. (I already had good experience with airtel once). Immediately a guy(Shashi) was send to my office to collect my documents and Rs. 600. I opted for Rs. 2100 8 Mbps plan with 125 GB FUP. Actually I wanted 16 Mbps plan. But he was not sure whether he could give me that. But he promised I will get the 125 GB FUP plan with in 3 days.

 

But on saturday, no one came to my house for installation and I tried calling Shashi so many times. He did not even pick up the call. After that, I called the Airtel customer care no and told the situation. They told there is some technical issue in getting the connection.

 

So I tried connections of different networks like Tata Indicom, You Broadband, Tikona, G Broadband, Spectranet, Act and Reliance. All except Reliance told me that, they cannot provide the connection in my area. Reliance told they can provide but never ever got a call back from them. I tried calling their customer care no lots of times. But they simply register a complaint and tell me I will get a callback within 24 hours. This went on like 4 - 5 times(2 weeks). But never got a call from them.

 

Then I was trying to get some local ISPs to provide me a connection. But in one shop, they give Airtel Area manager(Giridhar)'s no. I called him and he told he will send an executive immediately within 20 mins to my home(at 8'O clock in the night). I told him, I already applied for the connection and it was rejected because of some techincal issue. But he assured, that some ports are released in my area and I can easily get a connection from them. So I asked Shashi to check whether it is possible. He told, I can get a connection within 17th Mar.

 

On 17th march, again no one came, I called Shashi many times. But he will not pick the calls again. Then I called him from some other landline no. He took the call and told me the work order is approved and the technician will come to my place in the evening. He gave me the technician's no also. His name is Venkatesh. I called Venkatesh and asked about the connection. He told I will get installation done on 18th or 19th max. When I called him today, he said, it is not possible to give me the connection and he can get my amount back. I told him, I don't want the refund. I want the connection. Now he is not accepting my calls.

 

I am in utmost distress. I am not sure what I could do. If any of the forum members have any idea what are the next steps that I should do, please respond.

 

Is there anyway to get a connection from Airtel? If not, are there any other connection providers in this area that I can contact?

 

If wired broadband is not available in my area, what is good data card and plan? I used to game/download stuff. But, I suppose I wont have that possiblity with a data card.

My aging HP Photosmart 8158 printer finally gave up yesterday and sister needs printer frequently now a days.  I already had HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 3545 AIO Printer in mind.  Finally bought it today for 6k from a known vendor who supplies computer products to our company.  This printer retails at 6.7k on Flipkart, so this was an excellent deal.  Some features mentioned below.

  • HP ePrint support.
  • Apple Airprint support.
  • HP Wireless Direct support.
  • Automatic print on both sides support.
  • Scan through web portal.
    Took a couple of prints and all were good enough.  The automatic print on both sides amazed me as I have seen this only on high end laser printers.  Scanned some old photos and it looks great too.  Printouts fired from my mobile/tablet works fine using the native print support in android 4.4 but the print comes comparatively slower which is probably because it prints on 'Normal' or 'Best' mode and in mobile I couldn't find an option to toggle this.
     
    Overall a pretty solid printer for the price.

There are few channels like Khana Khazan (ch 22) on sd setup box that is not coming up on my hd setup box.

 

Could you please help me, how can i tune my hd setup box so that i get these channels on my hd setup box
