Transfer contacts from Nokia to Samsung mobile

Dear Friends,

 

 

I have one old Nokia mobile which has model no - 7210 Supernova ( version 4.87). I have just purchased a new Samsung mobile with Android OS whose model no is GT-S6312 (Samsung Galaxy Young Duos). How do I transfer my contacts, To do list and Notes etc. from my old Nokia mobile to my new Samsung mobile? I know that both the mobiles have a different OS. Please help me, thanks.

Thinking of building myself one. I tried building one online, however was surprised to see the cost of a decent latest AMD GPU run above >30000 INR. Other component costs including monitor, is about 35k. Is it even viable to make a gaming PC or should I just for a Playstation 4 at half that price.

High Ping ,Stutter in MTNLS 2mbps plan

Initial problem- As the title suggest since about last 30 days or so my ping has been too high for adsl2,adsl2+ modulation for the 2mbps plan
Also I disconnect every hour or so on ADSL2/2+,Auto sync modulation(inet light goes off for few seconds and i get disconnected ,inet light comes back on after 10 seconds or so)

temporary solution - gdmt modulation works fine but it is not a feasible option as it works really slow for some of the online games on ps3(so slow that frame rate drops on tv horribly better not to play at all).ADSL2+ is more advanced and transfers bins lot quicker.

-Have checked with 2 routers and got the same results.same ping time,stutter on both router hence i concluded that the problem is from the server side

I have posted below the approximate values for adsl2 + gdmt tested with wired connection on pingtest.com to the same server
(speed is ok and stable around 175 kb/ps for all type of modulations)

adsl2+(wired)
ping : 60
jitter : 1
SNR : 33
Line attenuation : 30

adsl2 (wired)
ping : 60
jitter:1
SNR:37
Line attenuation : 30

GDMT (wired)
Ping : 13
jitter :1
SNR : 17.5
line attenuation : 45
{I think crc error is bit high(goes upto250 for downstream) for GDMT whereas power DB is high for adsl2,adsl2+}


What I would like to know - could switching to a lower plan like a 1mbps plan solve my issue?or is there any other fix to this soultion? (never had a issue like this since I have been online gaming on 360,ps3 since 4 years)

My friend is a Dish TV HD+ user and he takes his stb to the middle east. Now I searched that whenever a software update comes, he'll have to come back to India to connect to the particular satellite that actually pushes out software updates. This true?

Also can any Dish TV HD + user send me a screenshot or tell me their software version on the stb which is the latest?

ACT broadband connection trouble - 3 days and counting

I'd applied for a new broadband connection (in Marathahalli, Bangalore) and the documents were collected, along with an initial deposit cheque of Rs 2016, last Saturday (15th Feb). The cable box (or whatever that was) was installed promptly after that, on the following Monday (17th Feb) and I was also told that the connection will be activated within 1-2 days.

 

But till now I haven't gotten my connection. Customer care, as expected, can't provide any clear answer. Called yesterday & was told "It'll be activated by tomorrow end of the day" which, as you can guess, hasn't happened. While applying for the connection I was repeatedly assured it won't take more than 7 days, at the maximum.

What's worse is that the ACT representative, who collected the documents & the Rs 2016 cheque, is not picking up my calls. I'm getting kinda worried here. If this is how it is to get a connection, how is it gonna be after that !!

 

Requesting ACT broadband to take a look into the matter and get it sorted ASAP.

Hi Guys,

 

I have recently shifted to the Rajakilpakkam area, Chennai. Was desperately looking for an ISP. Airtel did not have cables, I am not  a great fan of BSNL due to to my past experiences, so rejected that. Finally got to know about a new ISP by the name VIBRANTNET (www.vibrantnet.in). I was using Wi-Fi (FTTH) when I used to stay in Medavakkam, the plans provided by this guy matches the same as Wi-Fi, checked with the Sales guy and came to know that these guys have taken over from Wi-Fi. 

 

I am left with no choice, but I am still confused if I can go for this. I have opted for 4Mbps plan (Rs. 3454 for 3 months + 750 Reg Fee + Tax). The Sales guy has promised to come back within 3 days for the installation. Can someone suggest please?

My aging HP Photosmart 8158 printer finally gave up yesterday and sister needs printer frequently now a days.  I already had HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 3545 AIO Printer in mind.  Finally bought it today for 6k from a known vendor who supplies computer products to our company.  This printer retails at 6.7k on Flipkart, so this was an excellent deal.  Some features mentioned below.
  • Wireless connectivity.
  • HP Ink Advantage cartridges (HP 678 Black and Color)
  • HP ePrint support.
  • Apple Airprint support.
  • HP Wireless Direct support.
  • Automatic print on both sides support.
  • Scan through web portal.
Took a couple of prints and all were good enough.  The automatic print on both sides amazed me as I have seen this only on high end laser printers.  Scanned some old photos and it looks great too.  Printouts fired from my mobile/tablet works fine using the native print support in android 4.4 but the print comes comparatively slower which is probably because it prints on 'Normal' or 'Best' mode and in mobile I couldn't find an option to toggle this.
 
Overall a pretty solid printer for the price.

Finished first season. It reminds me of two shows... First Collar on how it is presented. Mad Men because the character of Harvey Specter is so freaking similar to Don Draper.

The problem is that Specter is like 5% of what Draper is. It just does not feel solid enough. When Draper talks, you listen. When Specter talks, you hope that he would say something that would impress you. Sadly, it does not happen very often.

The highest download speed you ever reached

 Once at a friend's place (hostel) there was an unsecured wifi network, and I downloaded at almost 1MBps. I would often go to his place to download. But, after 1-2 months the network became secured and so it was the end of delight. So, anyways what is the highest download speed you have ever got?

Beware, ACT downgrades your speed before reaching FUP Limit, It happened twice to me. Who's next?

My Oct,2013 month usage : 54.18 GB

My FUP limit                       : 60 GB (ACT Indulge plan)

 

My speed was reduced to 512 Kbps on Oct 27th and again on December 29th even before reaching FUP Limit.
 
I called customer care several times. They said the usage details are ''delayed" by 24 Hrs and
I may have reached the FUP Limit at server (Pathetic and I accepted because I don't have proofs)
 
I've proofs with the total usages which I got from "My usage". Every time when my usage is around 54GB, my speed goes to 512Kbps
 
I've suffered with Low Speeds. from 25 Mbps to 512 Kbps even before reaching FUP Limit???
 
 
Guys! Beware of ACT or if you already have ACT, keep watching your "My Usage"

I have BSNL Broadband with Plan of BBG Combo ULD 1425 which mentiones 4 Mbps upto 20 GB, 512 kbps beyond 20 GB,

 

I have checked the speed at the start of the month :

Shouldn't I be getting  a speed of around 3-4 Mbps or there about on speedtest.net according to the plan? After the data limit i get .40 Mbps.

 

Kindly explain the speed convesion method.

BSNL - EVDO - Usage - Review and everything about it

I know its a old school connection , about 4 years old but till now there isnt a better wireless plan compared to this till now

Rs 750 Pm True Unlimited . Prepaid

Pros:
1. True Unlimited no FUPs - i download around 100-150 Gbs a month, i can download upto 200-300 Gbs but i run out of files :redface:
2. Priced cheap compared to others , when they charge Rs 1000 with 10 Gb FUP
3. U dont have to talk to the customer care ever

Cons:
1. it has too many
2. Coverage is too thin , forget about slow speed there are places where u wont get any service at all
3. u just cannot walk to a BSNL office and buy this sim , because 70% of them doesnt know there is a service like this
4. CDMA
5. Availability of CDMA- EVDO modems in the market
6. Recharge Problems , those STVs mentioned on the site dont work most of the time ( lost Rs 1000 over online Recharge couple of times)

even after all the above i just love this connection , its prepaid and costs 750 pm , unlimited
have nice coverage in my town , so always get 1-2mbps , but dont ask about the ping or latency values :mad:

with this connection i have never thought about another connection for 3 years now .

have some doubts ? want details ? ask it here

recharge for Rs 20 for 6 months validity , make with a retailer if he says this amount is not available insist that it works

MTNL seems to have started new 8Mbps plans recently, dint see any thread discussing about it here.
