Wired broadband continuous connection Posted: 03 Jan 2014 03:06 AM PST Reliance broadband automatically logs one out after certain hours, which is annoying. Does anyone know of broadband provider which provides continuous broadband connection @ Reliance broadband's thunder plan rates?
Main problem is that while doing something urgent, one finds that he has been logged out automatically and needs to login again. |

Posted: 03 Jan 2014 02:23 AM PST Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh will hold the additional charge of the Information and Broadcasting ministry during the indisposition of Priyaranjan Dasmunsi. Dasmunsi had been admitted to the hospital following a heart attack last month. He shall continue to hold the rank of a Minister in the Cabinet, but without portfolio. Minister of State for External Affairs Anand Sharma will assist the Prime Minister in handling the I&B Ministry's affairs. Sharma had been asked to take additional charge as Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting on October 18, 2008. A communiqué was issued by President Pratibha Patil to this effect on the advise of Dr Singh, which said the PM will hold charge "during the period of indisposition of Dasmunsi or till such time he is able to resume his work as the Minister of Information and Broadcasting." |

Hathway needs Cable Connection to give Internet? Posted: 03 Jan 2014 02:16 AM PST Apologies if duplicate, i did not find a thread which discusses this.
So I wanted a new internet connection in Goregaon East and I applied for Hathway. They Initially they took the form and cheque, and promised to do the installation. However, later they called back and said they cannot install broadband since "I don't subscribe to a cable connection from them". They did, however, promise to refund the money.
This sounds like an extortion scheme to me. As a customer, I should be having a choice to subscribe to internet without subscribing to cable connection (Yes, I know I am in India, but still....). I am not sure if such extortion is even legal?? Just wanted the advice of this forum on if I can do anything (more than angry tweets) to get these horrible guys to do something, or do we just have to take this lying down???
It's now 2 weeks I am trying to get a broadband connection in Goregaon. Can't believe I live in India's biggest metro.... |

Posted: 03 Jan 2014 02:00 AM PST I'm looking for two televisions: A 32 inch one, and a 40/42 Inch one. Needs options in both categories. Connectivity will be a Tatasky HD box, and a PS3. Also USBs from time to time. The TV should also have an option for being able to attach either a sound bar or HTS later next year. I don't know whether a LED will be better or a LCD or Plasma. Please advise. I'm only looking for a Samsung, Sony or LG TV. No other brand. Also I want this TV to run at least 5 years. Budget isn't decided yet, but I doubt it'll cross 40K. Take 30-42K as a range. Any suggestions? |

Need advice on *FUP* free Internet Connection. Posted: 03 Jan 2014 01:56 AM PST Hello everyone! , I apologise for any mistakes that i make as i am new to the forums. (But following it from quite some time now.) I am from Kolhapur,Maharashtra and I currently have BSNL wired broadband with the ULD 950 plan.(4 mbps till 8 GB and 512 kbps beyond). I am having no problems with it so far and it has been quite reliable. But i am a type of downloader and 8 Gb is just..* Now i seriously need something truly unlimited and i am literally fed up of this fup! There are really not ISP who provide BB at my area. Airtel/Reliance is not present, Docomo is there but my area, although in middle of city,is not feasible! There's no other ISP's and i am unable to know what should i do.Then i come across BSNL EVDO which has a unlimited plan for ₹ 750 and has speeds upto 3.1 mbps. Should i take a EVDO connection? How will i share the usb connection through wifi? I am a gamer and i know that Evdo, which is through cdma network would give me too good pings. So i would like to keep my current broadband and lower the plan to ULD 525 and then add Evdo for downloading and all that stuff. Is this correct thing to do? Where would i get the evdo data card and modem? Should i buy the modem from BSNL or buy something like micromax/huawei? I have already registered at uddan.bsnl.com for a new evdo connection. Suggestions from you guys are really needed. Thanks in advance! |

Posted: 03 Jan 2014 01:47 AM PST Creating this thread as I couldn't find one.
My second purchase from Lenskart. Had ordered prescription glasses. The whole experience was smooth as the the first one. Placed the order on 18th December and got the delivery today (took longer than usual maybe due to GOSF). Quality is pretty good. Costed me 3.3 grands (after using 1000 reward points).
