Frequent timeouts on mtnl bb

hi 
this problem has been nagging me for a couple of days 
i can browse/download for a period of 10 minutes and then i get "timeout", "server error " etc for the next couple of minutes and then after 2 minutes , connection is up again . The story goes on repeating itself endlessly :(

though i am not facing disconnection but these timeouts are driving me crazy 
after ever 10 mins or so :(  
previously i was on 550 combo ,changed it to combo 650  on the 2nd of this month ,all was working well for a day and then this started happening .

When will BSNL launch new plans ?

hi Guys,

 

Its frustrating that BSNL is yet to launch truly unlimited 1/2/4 Mbps plans for < 1500Rs. Its perpetually offering 512Kbps speeds from last 4-5 years. Not only that, they are not even offering speed boost say after 6pm like MTNL does. Its not only about downloading torrents. Even if i want to watch Youtube files, I am not able to with 512kbps. They should start offering speed boost to 2/4Mbps at 6pm to 8am slot if offering the same at daytime is not possible. What can we do in this situation ? Can we all raise a CRM ticket at selfcare portal to demand this ?

BSNL - EVDO - Usage - Review and everything about it

I know its a old school connection , about 4 years old but till now there isnt a better wireless plan compared to this till now

Rs 750 Pm True Unlimited . Prepaid

Pros:
1. True Unlimited no FUPs - i download around 100-150 Gbs a month, i can download upto 200-300 Gbs but i run out of files :redface:
2. Priced cheap compared to others , when they charge Rs 1000 with 10 Gb FUP
3. U dont have to talk to the customer care ever

Cons:
1. it has too many
2. Coverage is too thin , forget about slow speed there are places where u wont get any service at all
3. u just cannot walk to a BSNL office and buy this sim , because 70% of them doesnt know there is a service like this
4. CDMA
5. Availability of CDMA- EVDO modems in the market
6. Recharge Problems , those STVs mentioned on the site dont work most of the time ( lost Rs 1000 over online Recharge couple of times)

even after all the above i just love this connection , its prepaid and costs 750 pm , unlimited
have nice coverage in my town , so always get 1-2mbps , but dont ask about the ping or latency values :mad:

with this connection i have never thought about another connection for 3 years now .

have some doubts ? want details ? ask it here

Police in India's West Bengal state said Thursday that a young woman has been gang raped on the orders of a village council because she fell in love with a man from a different religion.
Sudhakar said the woman said she lost count of how many men raped her during the night-long ordeal that occurred Monday.
The West Bengal case is particularly troubling because the alleged rape apparently was sanctioned by a council made up of village elders. Such councils are not legally binding in India, but they are seen as the will of the local community. The councils decide on social norms in the village and in some villages prescribe the way women can dress, or who they can marry. Those who flout the councils risk being ostracized.

A 20-year-old tribal girl was allegedly raped by at least 10 members of a kangaroo court in a Birbhum village on Monday night as punishment for having an affair with a youth from another community. All 13 accused — including the village headman — have been arrested for rape. The girl's boyfriend has also been arrested.
TOI spoke to the girl in Suri Hospital on Wednesday evening. Although in severe pain, she feebly said: "I had an affair with a man. We were dragged to a gathering where our community-headman was present. They told me to pay Rs 50,000. When I said I couldn't, they brutalized me." A doctor said she was alive "only because she is a tough tribal girl".
Her mother said: "The crime was committed by our own people. They tortured my daughter and dumped her home late at night. We were threatened not to go to police. We tried to go to Bolpur hospital but they stopped us."

"I would say there is a fixed match between AAP and the Congress party to somehow stop Narendra Modi. ...But I could never imagine the bubble of aam aadmi would burst soon," said Prasad, who is deputy leader of BJP in Rajya Sabha.

Whatever legal action is to be taken should be taken. The Lt Governor has assured us of a fair probe," Mr. Lovely told reporters after the meeting.

Frequent disconnection in Mumbai suburbs?

I have been losing connectivity everyday exactly at 2:00PM, then it comes back online only later at night.

 

When it does come back online, it is not stable, it goes off every now and then for a few mins to an hour and comes back at its own wish.

 

Customer service only seem to repeat the same thing "Sir, you are facing a signal issue, I will contact the backend department and engineer will come to you with permanent solution". Same bloody line every single day and no reponse to the complaint ticket.

 

Not to mention, I am on the 5mbps plan, and I only get 0.97mbps if Im lucky. This circus has been going on for almost a week.

 

Am I the only one being f**ked over? or is anyone else in the same boat?

Thinking of building myself one. I tried building one online, however was surprised to see the cost of a decent latest AMD GPU run above >30000 INR. Other component costs including monitor, is about 35k. Is it even viable to make a gaming PC or should I just for a Playstation 4 at half that price.

Congress MP Sanjay Nirupam began an indefinite hunger strike in Mumbai today to demand that power tariff be reduced in the city. Earlier this week, electricity prices were cut by nearly 20% across Maharashtra, except in Mumbai.
Mr Nirupam is holding his protest fast outside the Kandivali West office of Anil Ambani-owned Reliance Energy, the power company that provides electricity in his Mumbai North constituency.

BSNL Broadband: Combo ULD 800 Plan Review

Hey friends,

 

I installed BSNL BB with Combo ULD 800.

 

AS per plan speed should be max. 1mbps upto 6gb. But i am getting 1.6mbps speed as per speed test (measured on speedtest.net). How it can be possible. Can any 1 answer??????????????????????????????????????????????

 

BSNL has taken 2 month to install Landline but bb installation is very quick (2 days after application).

 

Till now i am satisfied. I am in Vadodara, Gujarat region.

 

You ppl also can share your experience for this plan and BSNL service. 

Alliance Broadband WAN Port not detected

Hi,

I am having one of the most weird problems with my new Alliance broadband. I took the connection a few days back and it works perfectly with my PC. However, when I try to connect the ethernet cable to my TP-Link Router then the internet light never flashes. Upon entering tp-link manual configuration it says that "WAN Port not detected". I did reset the router and checked all the wiring but no help.

 

Thinking that the router is faulty I took it to my neighbour's house using same Alliance broadband and much to my surprise the router works perfectly without any hassle. What could be the problem here...my internet seems to work fine when I connect the cable to my PC ethernet port. This is driving me crazy. Can someone please help me.
