All i see is a big giant corporation sucking all the privacy it can from nearly all individual who are online.   The Fall has been amplified by the recent expose of the PRISM debacle.   With Recent move to make real name / real profile associated with your Google account to comment on youtube , things are not all rossy at google.     Here is another fine example of major f*** up by google , and even more appaling is how we all have started to accept the fact that there is no real support for such a big company. Even though most of the times its all automated , but many years ago , when i had issues with Adsense , it was as if talking to a empty space.   But apart from these , I am slowly loosing my confidence and trust on google , the way they have progressed and action they take.   Youtube without ABP is pure crap. I cant view 30 sec video without wathcing a 1 min ad , that too on HD , when my actual video i am supposed to watch doesnt run smoothly at 240p , even though its an isp issue , still Google should be aware of my bandwidth , when it is quick enough to change the video from 240p to 144p , me even without asking it , but fails to load a SD ad depending on my speed.   Gmail is full of ads again and it started to be listed right above emails too.   Picasa is dead and replaced with crap like G+ photo which is viewable for the elite who can have a decent 2mpbs connection.   Blogger imo is dead too , with region changing domains , i feel its more shifted towards easy censoring .   Google plus is crap and so is FB. May be i am just tired of all these social sites. May be its just me .   Apart from these , the main service , the actual search , imo has taken deep dive . The results are no more better. Most of the time it serves me out dated links (2008-2010) , and each time i have to specify to link to 2012-2013 to get more precise results. With all the MPAA/RIAA/other take down request , i am not sure whether the result i am seeing is even the best ones.   You cant use Google without using good userscripts (googlifix) to enable all the hidden features , which were once easily available.   Android is whole lot different , with Google play/market imo is fuc*** up , with most of the space wasted on movies and books and no real way to show only apps. Still the search on Play is ancient and no real way to filter them.   With recent 4.4 KK , and recent issue on how you cant have access to Battery info , i dont know where this is all leading. Even though a lot has been optimized and became effecient , android is again pushing one to use its services .   May its all because of PRISM , i have lost all trust on google and each day all i see if they grabbing all the possible information on everyone , to either serve the ads or to nsa or whatever. There is also a general dislike slowly growing towards google.

ANY PEERING SPEED CONNECTION IN HOWRAH? Posted: 09 Dec 2013 12:34 AM PST Hello there. I'm in desperate need of an internet connection which can provide peering speeds during downloads. I live in Andul area of Howrah. I'm using BSNL broadband for the past 3 years, paying over 800 rupees per month with speeds in the range of 256kbps-512kbps. But I've seen my friends getting speeds in excess of 1mbps while downloading torrents with this stuff called "peering speed". They say Alliance provides this kind of magic stuff in Kolkata but I don't live in kolkata and hence my downloading speed EVEN during torrents is like 20kbps-30kbps which is pathetic. Please suggest me a way out. I really need help. Which are the good connections which I can try out here in Howrah?    Thanks.

(4mbps till 20gb 512after)   though i only get 2mbps.   And its been 2 weeks since the problem is happening. I'm using Netgear n300. Net keeps randomly disconnecting. And i have to reset modem/router then it works and again down.. repeat   Dunno if its BSNL or the Router. What should I do? Laptop ain't the problem, as disconnection occur on my ps3/tablet as well.   Its been really annoying. Help a brother out?

But i am getting 1.6mbps speed as per speed test (measured on speedtest.net). How it can be possible. Slow upload speed and frequently disconnecting Posted: 08 Dec 2013 11:36 PM PST 15 days back, i shifted from jammu to mohali sector 71 for my studies and right away opted for BSNL broadband(Plan 950) as i have been using BSNL broadband from last 5 years.   Last week, a guy from BSNL came and configured my connection. By lookin at the modem stats he told me that my speed is locked at 2mbps and my line strength is vry weak, so he would get my line checked. But nothing changed, even after a week.   My download speed was around 100kBps and my upload speed was around 8-10kBps. So i knew i cannot do video chatting with that kind of upload speed   Yesterday i registered a complaint at 1504 and got a msg that complaint has been registered. Today i got a messege again that my complaint has been resolved. I restarted my router and rechecked the stats.   Following were my stats:   1. Current rate   Downstream: 3999 kbps Upstream: 765 kbps   2. Max rate   Downstream: 4340 kbps Upstream: 744 kbps   3. SNR margin   Downstream: 6 Upstream: 10   4. Line Attenuation:   Downstream:29 Upstream: 42   By lookin at current downstream rate i assumed that my download speed is increased. I downloaded a file and was getting an average speed of 380kBps. I uploaded a file and got an average upload speed of 55kBps.   So i thought everything is improving now, but then the connection disconnected and the stats refreshed. Here are the new stats:     1. Current rate   Downstream: 2984 kbps Upstream: 117 kbps   2. Max rate   Downstream: 4340 kbps Upstream: 141 kbps   3. SNR margin   Downstream: 6 Upstream: 6.7   4. Line Attenuation:   Downstream:50.8 Upstream: 34.6   Upload speed was again 8-10 kBps and download speed was around 200 kBps.Now it frequently disconnects and stats are new every time. Sometimes my download current rate shows 3980 kBps and sometome it is down to 2430. Sometimes upload current rate is 300 and sometimes 100. So i have few queries:   a.  I read somewhere that SNR margin should be high and Line attenuation should be low. So what does my current stats reflect?   b. Is my profile still locked at 2 mbps?   c. I have already registered complaint at 1504(which they marked as resolved without checking) and have also talked to JE by phone. He told me that line is okay. So what should i do now?   Edit: I am using TP link TD-W8968 modem-router, which i have bought 2 months back. I have used it with BSNL broadband in Jammu and it works fine there.
