| TV Ad with Some warning about channels from 01-Jan-2014 Posted: 16 Dec 2013 02:19 AM PST has anyone seen a dish TV commercial about some channels will not be available from 1st Jan. it also says contact us for details and at the end shows logos from other operators stating if you wish to get those channels subscribe to these dth operators.
Can someone shed some light, whats all this about.

| Slow upload speed and frequently disconnecting Posted: 16 Dec 2013 02:13 AM PST 15 days back, i shifted from jammu to mohali sector 71 for my studies and right away opted for BSNL broadband(Plan 950) as i have been using BSNL broadband from last 5 years.
Last week, a guy from BSNL came and configured my connection. By lookin at the modem stats he told me that my speed is locked at 2mbps and my line strength is vry weak, so he would get my line checked. But nothing changed, even after a week.
My download speed was around 100kBps and my upload speed was around 8-10kBps. So i knew i cannot do video chatting with that kind of upload speed
Yesterday i registered a complaint at 1504 and got a msg that complaint has been registered. Today i got a messege again that my complaint has been resolved. I restarted my router and rechecked the stats.
Following were my stats:
1. Current rate
Downstream: 3999 kbps Upstream: 765 kbps
2. Max rate
Downstream: 4340 kbps Upstream: 744 kbps
3. SNR margin
Downstream: 6 Upstream: 10
4. Line Attenuation:
Downstream:29 Upstream: 42
By lookin at current downstream rate i assumed that my download speed is increased. I downloaded a file and was getting an average speed of 380kBps. I uploaded a file and got an average upload speed of 55kBps.
So i thought everything is improving now, but then the connection disconnected and the stats refreshed. Here are the new stats:
1. Current rate
Downstream: 2984 kbps Upstream: 117 kbps
2. Max rate
Downstream: 4340 kbps Upstream: 141 kbps
3. SNR margin
Downstream: 6 Upstream: 6.7
4. Line Attenuation:
Downstream:50.8 Upstream: 34.6
Upload speed was again 8-10 kBps and download speed was around 200 kBps.Now it frequently disconnects and stats are new every time. Sometimes my download current rate shows 3980 kBps and sometome it is down to 2430. Sometimes upload current rate is 300 and sometimes 100. So i have few queries:
a. I read somewhere that SNR margin should be high and Line attenuation should be low. So what does my current stats reflect?
b. Is my profile still locked at 2 mbps?
c. I have already registered complaint at 1504(which they marked as resolved without checking) and have also talked to JE by phone. He told me that line is okay. So what should i do now?
Edit: I am using TP link TD-W8968 modem-router, which i have bought 2 months back. I have used it with BSNL broadband in Jammu and it works fine there. |

| Suggest a 2 DIN car audio system Posted: 16 Dec 2013 01:13 AM PST My current 2 din audio system doesnt have USB and its already not reading half of the CD`s , So planned to move to better Audio System, I dont have any special Speakers , just the ones which came along with the car (Honda City 2007 VTEC) .

MTNL has introduced truly Unlimited 3G Postpaid plan in Mumbai circle. Postpaid 3G data plan of Rs 1650 which was earlier offering 50GB 3G data usage has been revised to offer Unlimited 3G data usage . The revised 3G plan is available from 1st Dec'13 for its customers in Mumbai. Interestingly this revision has not been carried out in prepaid segment and prepaid pack of Rs 1650 will continue to offer 50GB with 30 days validity.

| ACT broadband from best to worst Posted: 16 Dec 2013 12:46 AM PST I have applied for transfer of connection as I have moved to a new house on 14th sep 2013. My ticket number - 1221583.
The house is in the same area where I was residing earlier ( Nagawara, Bangalore - 560045).
Already 8 days are over from the day I raised the ticket. But still nobody has contacted me from ACT so far. I called up customer care almost 10 times. All the time I get the same stereotype answer that they forwarded to the concerned department. I am in urgent need of the connection; but these type of lazy action and lazy words from them irritates.
Note that, when I have applied for new connection 2 years back, they were very quick to call back, they were quick to install and everything was perfect. But now, they have SWALLOWED enough money and not willing to move their back to do their work.
So PATHETIC service from ACT broadband.

I need an Internet download manager and i've downloaded several versions of IDM with their patches, serial keys, and cracks but i've failed. For 1-2 hours it works fine and after that some shitty message shows "Your idm has been registered with a fake serial number. idm is exiting" I uninstalled idm and rebooted my PC and then installed another version of idm with patch but after working for some time i get the similar message. Please help me out with some link , i need a permanent idm which will last forever . Tell me what to do. Thanks. |

I have recently shifted to the Rajakilpakkam area, Chennai. Was desperately looking for an ISP. Airtel did not have cables, I am not a great fan of BSNL due to to my past experiences, so rejected that. Finally got to know about a new ISP by the name VIBRANTNET (www.vibrantnet.in). I was using Wi-Fi (FTTH) when I used to stay in Medavakkam, the plans provided by this guy matches the same as Wi-Fi, checked with the Sales guy and came to know that these guys have taken over from Wi-Fi.
I am left with no choice, but I am still confused if I can go for this. I have opted for 4Mbps plan (Rs. 3454 for 3 months + 750 Reg Fee + Tax). The Sales guy has promised to come back within 3 days for the installation. Can someone suggest please? |

The centrepiece of the package, to be discussed with the F1 teams' alliance FOTA next week in Geneva, is the standardisation of expensive car parts that add little to the show. The London publication The Times claims that Bernie Ecclestone, the Chief Executive of F1's commercial rights holder, backs the Max Mosley-devised plan to 'dramatically' cut costs. Among the measures is the introduction of a controversial standard engine design for 2010, additional energy recovery systems and fuel-efficient engines for 2013, and many 'common parts' for the chassis. "We are completely open to new ideas," Mosley, albeit insisting that engines must be made available to small teams at a low cost, said in a letter to the team bosses. | Fernando Alonso News and Updates Posted: 15 Dec 2013 08:27 PM PST Fernando Alonso topped the timesheets on his return to Renault today at Jerez lapping the Spanish circuit a tenth clear of countryman Pedro de la Rosa. It was an impressive return to the team for Alonso as he put in 70 laps with a best time of 1:19.503s. It was a busy day for the McLaren Mercedes team with de la Rosa putting in 111 laps in his MP4-23 while Kovalainen sixth fastest, completed 130 laps in the new machine. Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa were third and fifth fastest respectively for Ferrari with Nico Rosberg running well in his FW29 with the fourth fastest time. Sebastian Vettel and Sebastien Bourdais proved closely matched for Toro Rosso Ferrari with the seventh and eighth fastest times while Mark Webber was ninth best in the Red Bull Renault. Kazuke Nakajima rounded out the top ten in his Williams Toyota ahead of Timo Glock in the leading Toyota TF108 and Giancarlo Fisichella in the Force India Ferrari. Kamui Kobayashi brought up the bottom of the timesheets in the second Toyota while Super Aguri Honda did not run after problems encountered yesterday. Renault continued its preparations for 2008 today with Fernando Alonso taking over driving responsibilities from Nelson Piquet. I will be back in the MP4-23 with Heikki tomorrow and I am looking forward to continuing the programme and moving forward." Kovalainen, who got his first taste of the new car on Wednesday, alongside tester Pedro de la Rosa, was equally pleased with his own progress. "Today was my second day with the MP4-23 and I have now been able to complete over 447kms in total," said the Finn. "We are all still spending time learning about the car and starting to get used to it. That we were on track for 204 laps in total today is definitely helping us to learn and progress with the car. | Broadband Connection in Hulimavu Posted: 15 Dec 2013 08:00 PM PST Hi All, I have moved recently to Hulimavu and looking for a Broadband connection. I contacted Airtel and BSNL, but they denied the request saying they do not have lines in my area. I took Tata Photon 3G dongle for the time being but looking for a High Speed Connection since my usage is high. I contacted BBNL recently and finally the local Cable Operator contacted me for the Internet connection through Metronet. After reading the reviews about metronet, I am not sure if I should go for Metronet.
Can anyone suggest if there is any better alternate to Metronet in this area?

| Posted: 15 Dec 2013 06:36 PM PST Past few months I have been getting pathetic Speed post FUP on my MTNL FTTH Connection. Don't even get a consistent speed of 400kbps whereas the promised speed is 512kbps.(now changed to 1mbps)
I think my line is proper cause before FUP limit I get proper 10mbps speed. Even changed my plan to 1mbps Unlimited (got recently discontinued) to check but then also got like 700kbps. Downloads from play store also just randomly stall. Does anyone else also face the problem? What could be the issue? Really frustrating cause these Aunties on the helpline are real idiots all they do is generate a pointless complaint no. Have spoken to few higher authorities but no luck so far! |

I have got a BEETEL modem(450TC2) given for free by Airtel.
I updated the firmware to dt850w-a1.006.ras since WIFI-Authentication Type was disabled by default by Airtel.
Now I have configured the modem to BSNL. Internet throguh wire and wireless are working fine.
But the strange thing is "DSL and INTERNET LED lights are not glowing, but only POWER and WLAN are".
Is that okay? Please help me to understand.
