Fernando Alonso topped the timesheets on his return to Renault today at Jerez lapping the Spanish circuit a tenth clear of countryman Pedro de la Rosa. It was an impressive return to the team for Alonso as he put in 70 laps with a best time of 1:19.503s.

It was a busy day for the McLaren Mercedes team with de la Rosa putting in 111 laps in his MP4-23 while Kovalainen sixth fastest, completed 130 laps in the new machine.

Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa were third and fifth fastest respectively for Ferrari with Nico Rosberg running well in his FW29 with the fourth fastest time.

Sebastian Vettel and Sebastien Bourdais proved closely matched for Toro Rosso Ferrari with the seventh and eighth fastest times while Mark Webber was ninth best in the Red Bull Renault.

Kazuke Nakajima rounded out the top ten in his Williams Toyota ahead of Timo Glock in the leading Toyota TF108 and Giancarlo Fisichella in the Force India Ferrari. Kamui Kobayashi brought up the bottom of the timesheets in the second Toyota while Super Aguri Honda did not run after problems encountered yesterday.
Renault continued its preparations for 2008 today with Fernando Alonso taking over driving responsibilities from Nelson Piquet.

It was an important day as it was Alonso's first appearance in Renault colours since being confirmed as a 2008 race driver in December.

Arriving at the Jerez circuit yesterday evening, the Spaniard spoke to the engineers to understand how the first day of the programme had gone, and to prepare for his two days work with the team.

His first day behind the wheel gave the Spaniard the opportunity to drive a car in accordance with the 2008 electronic regulations, and most significantly without traction control. It was also a good opportunity to reacclimatise to the team with which he has worked for six years in the past.

At the end of the session, having covered 70 laps, the overall result was an encouraging first day as Alonso topped the timesheet with a best lap of 1:19.503s.

"The result of my first day in the car is encouraging. I could not wait to drive again, but at the same time I was a bit tentative. I quickly settled back in to the team and everything went well. We made good progress throughout the day, but there is a lot still to do. 10 days completed still no connection

My ACT user ID is  478304.
 
I have paid 6735 fro 6 month advance month rent for 15mbps plan, Sellsperson (Vekatesh) promised me he ll give connection in 3 days but its already 10 days I have not got connection adn Almost I gave 2 complaints every day and everytime ACT team will tell the manager/supervisor will call in 1 hour but I ve not recieved any call and they will tell I ll get connection by EOD everyday.
 
 
The ACT engineer had quarelled with my neighbour and my neighbour is not allowing to pullout the cable from the switch in his home. Everytime I have to explain everything to each n every excecutive everyday.
 
Before giving money they ll call 50 times and after any problem no one replies . Now sales person demanding 2000 extra for giving seperate connection . I m not sure what way they r treating customers . 
 
I have observer in above complaints evrytime they ll tell sorry we ll get back top u ASAP .  :pissed-off:   :pissed-off:   :pissed-off:   :pissed-off:   :pissed-off:

Engineer make me to wait 3 complete days promising they r coming in 10 min half an hour but everytime same answer.

Airtel Cheat! 300MB pack reduced to 21 days... but it is no where updated their website even from their recharge confirmation SMS.

I just recharged 300MB data pack from their own website which shows validity as 30 days and even the recharge confirmation SMS says 30 days. After started using, their usage alert pops up saying the validity is until Dec 18, that is 21 days. If I call CC they say it was updated a month ago!!!! Buggers!

Airtel 4G crashes upon launch in Pune

Such unbelievably pathetic services by Airtel 4G in Pune... they took my money and turned in a device that does not even connect half the time. Call the helpline, only to talk to arrogant sleepyheads. 6 times the network team has come into my house, but has not been able to resolve. They try to justify and attribute many many days of downtime to lack of address verification, power supply failures, SIM card issues and well many times by just saying "we are try to find out". Sales team lies through their teeth - promises not to bill and provide a refund should the issues continue. Promises which Airtel does not care about.

So, here I am - stuck with a device that does not work, a bill for which I did not receive any service, and a pain in the neck that my family and I absolutely did not deserve.

Absolutely disgusting behaviour, Airtel. Shame on you.

I am kicking myself for buying an Airtel 4G. Take my advice, friends, do not allow Airtel to destroy your time, money and piece of mind - never buy Airtel 4G, never.

Please share your experiences in Pune and opinion.

Considering that 4G connection have downtime of more than 60-70% in Pune, should Airtel not should refund the money to those who want to discontinue?

Tikona Broadband User Experiences

Thought I would start another thread for people who have actually used this service to describe their experience.

They have started advertising quite heavily in Bombay and their plans seem pretty decent. Their 600kbps UL plan would be excellent for me.

I really like the way they have bill limits for their limited plans as well. That shows they understand consumer concerns about enormous bills and have designed their plans to allay them.

So how good is their service? Any down time? How quickly do they respond to complaints? Really any information from people who have used Tikona would be appreciated.

How to configure tikona with adsl2+ router (Dlink DSL-2750U)

Recently I bought Dlink DSL-2750U modem+router for home use. I want to configure this router but router WAN port accepts RJ11 cable.

And tikona has RJ45 cable.

So anybody can suggest solution for this problem?

Also this router has USB port for connecting internet dongles.

Dear Customer,

We wish to draw your kind attention to the following facts:

  • That Tikona Digital Networks Pvt. Limited is a corporate body duly registered under the Companies Act, 1956, and in business of providing Internet services.
  • That you have subscribed the internet Services being provided by us on the terms and conditions as laid down in the subscriber registration Form (SRF) which was duly read acknowledged and signed by you
  • That in lieu of the internet services availed under this agreement and the devices provided to you, we have from time to time sent you bills for the same.
  • In view of the non-payment of the bills, you have also been reminded through telephone calls and SMS messages to make payment of the bills sent to you. hey there,

 

 tODAY TIKONA  guys called me up  and said they would be coming tomorrow for demo/installation and 3000 rs as subscription charges in advance.But the bad part is that i wont be at home as i have urgent work in the office.

Please anyone who is with tikona in near South Delhi  (specifically Raju Park, Khanpur pin code- 110062)  share your experience as i do not want to become another victim of their poor services. What is their FUP policy?? I have subscribed 20gb 2 mbps plan (512 kbps unlimted post FUP).

 

i have also registered a connection with MTNL but they havnt replied. so i am going with tikona as i cany wait anymore. 

All kind of review... positive/Negative  are welcom. Help ur fellow forum member. lol !

i just booted my custom made windows 7 pc from hibernation , and there was a weird looking some blue screen type screen , and NO its not like the crashing blue screen in was different ,and before i could understand what was happening , the normal boot process happened and my computer resumed from hibernation all things looked fine but , the date of my pc was 2009  :pissed-off:  , i did internet date update and its ok now .

 

but whats the deal ? what happened ? can anybody help ? its my work computer , what do i do? i feel threatened  :offended:

Modem giving all sorts of problems.

I  am using dlink glb502t and i think its dying. 

 

At times it will give me different errors on different OS and simply wont connect . And sometimes it will just connect out of nothing.

Errors like 651 for win 8, 687 for xp, 815 for vista. 

Interestingly when its connecting, it will connect fine on all these 3 different OS . And when not connecting will give those respective errors. 

And web interface for modem firmware just wont work smooth. It will take endless time to load and sometimes wont even load.

 

Any idea if firmware update will work ? Or i shud give up on it ?

 

Any suggestion if i need to buy another basic wired modem+router.

Not only will the Silverstone based team continue to use a customer engine built by the famous Italian marque next year, Force India is reportedly planning to run a KERS energy-recovery system that is also developed by Maranello-based Ferrari.

Red Bull Racing has confirmed that it has signed Sebastian Vettel to partner Mark Webber in its 2009 driver line-up.
A vacancy opened up at the Milton Keynes-based squad following David Coulthard's decision to retire at the end of this season, and Vettel has been widely tipped for promotion from Red Bull's 'B' team Toro Rosso.
However there has also been speculation that RBR was trying to entice double world champion Fernando Alonso away from Renault, but the Spaniard remains non-committal about his plans for next year and has been linked to a move to Ferrari in 2010.
Team principal Christian Horner said he was confident that, despite Vettel's youth and relative inexperience, the 21-year-old German was the right choice.
"We are delighted that Sebastian will be joining us next year," said Horner.
"With David Coulthard announcing his retirement as a Formula 1 driver a fortnight ago at the British Grand Prix, after careful consideration, it seemed natural to announce his replacement here at Sebastian's home race in Hockenheim.

Hello friends, I could see massive optic fibre laying in various parts of country. I had seen conduits of various colours laying in Bangalore, Delhi and varanasi. Dont know about other places, can you guys confirm this. I had seen cable laying in as remote places of saarnath temple, Ganga ghat in banaras. Seems like vary strange bec if the connectivity is to provide to 4G sites the it should have not in such massive scale. Seems like they also plans to provide ftth

Airtel HD+ - Query on using existing hard drive partition

Hello Techie folks,

 

Yesterday, I upgraded to Airtel HD+, which allows us to connect to an external usb storage and record programs.

 

I have a query that I am hoping to get a resolution on this forum.

 

I have a 1 TB USB external hard drive which is partioned into 4 drives of roughly 250gb each. I plan to use one partition for HD+ STB. However, as soon as I plug in my hard drive to STB and switch it ON, it asks me to 1) Format drive 2) Go back.

 

I cannot format the drive, because it carries useful data and run beyond 600 gigs, which I cannot back-up somewhere else, even temporararily. I can't just lose the data (believe me, they are not movies).

 

I just wish that the STB should prompt me with the drive name, once I select it to format. But, I cannot try this, because, if it doesn't prompts me and formats the entire 1 TB drive, I'll be in soup.

 

So, if any of you have tried to connect a partitioned hard drive to HD+ STB, could you please share your experience?

 

Is there any way out?
