Modem giving all sorts of problems.

I  am using dlink glb502t and i think its dying. 

 

At times it will give me different errors on different OS and simply wont connect . And sometimes it will just connect out of nothing.

Errors like 651 for win 8, 687 for xp, 815 for vista. 

Interestingly when its connecting, it will connect fine on all these 3 different OS . And when not connecting will give those respective errors. 

And web interface for modem firmware just wont work smooth. It will take endless time to load and sometimes wont even load.

 

Any idea if firmware update will work ? Or i shud give up on it ?

 

Any suggestion if i need to buy another basic wired modem+router.

The show is doing wonderfully well. I personally love it. It's different, no cheap comedy and pure entertainment.

 

TRP wise it's doing extremely well. Currently at the top in it's category (even above the likes of KBC, Jhalak Dikhla Ja, etc.) and overall 3rd.

1. BSNL DSL link unstable. Modem's DSL LED, disconnects every 30 seconds to 2 minutes.
 
2. Using Beetel ADSL Modem 220BX.
 
3. Have removed the splitter. Now phone line goes directly into the modem.

Need suggestions for a 64GB SATAIII SSD

So I upgraded my PC and now my existing hard drives are performance limiting factor now.  All my hard drives are SATA2.  So I thought why not get a 64GB SSD and use it only for booting.  Would probably be getting it first week of December.  Suggestions needed.

 

Budget : 5 - 7k.

 

I have shortlisted the following.  If there's anything better, please mention.

Upgraded to BBG Combo ULD 1425, Can't get BSNL to upgrade speed

Hello Everyone,

I was on BBG Combo ULD 800 & I upgraded to BBG Combo ULD 1425 in Oct. Plan was changed & portal reflects my plan but there is no improvement in speed. I have gone to exchange multiple times but they say that they are not responsible for speed, I should go to the main office & file a complaint there. Which I did but there is no response since then. also raised a complaint in portal, but it gets set to "RESOLVED".

 

Its more than a month but my modem still syncs at 2048/512kbps. Now, how to I get these bsnl idiots to increase the speed as per the plan subscribed?

Not getting full 2 Mbps after 12 AM on MTNL 450 Rs Unlimited plan

I am on MTNL DSL_Unlimited_450 plan in Mumbai. Under this plan the speeds i should get are..

 

7 AM - 6 PM -> 512 Kbps

6 PM - 12 AM -> 1 Mbps

12 AM - 7 AM -> 2 Mbps

 

Here the first two work absolutely fine and i get proper 512 kbps / 1 Mbps speeds in the time mentioned but after 12 AM, i never get 2 Mbps. It is almost never above 1.5 Mbps. I did check the down stream in the MTNL wifi model and it gets set to something like 1600 kbps or something, should be more than 2048 kbps i feel.

I had complained to MTNL once but they a stupid reply that "Yeh speed bhi to bahut hai". WTF reply. :pissed-off:

What might be the issue or any ways i can self resolve ?

 

 

PS: I am not using this internet daily as i am in Pune most of the time. Just FYI.

So, I am sick and tired of the piece of shite modem that BSNL gave me. Manu suggested I should get something of my own. 

 

I have a Buffalo Wireless Router so just a modem would suffice. Though I would not mind getting a combo device provided it has similar or better wireless coverage. 

 

The Buffalo router works fine except for one room that is at the opposite far side of the house one floor above. So, it would be nice if that coverage problem can be solved as well? 

 

That sad... My router is Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH. I am not sure if it can be made to work as a modem? Just saying.

Comepletely confused about which wireless router to buy

Hi,

 

  My internet is wired from you telecom and it works fine when I plug it in my laptop. However I need to go wireless on it so I have decided to buy a wireless router.

 

Query1:

  I called their customer care and they mentioned that I can buy any DSL router. However none of the routers have DSL mentioned in their specifications, though few of them have ADSL/ADSL2+ mentioned. The ones which have DSL mentioned in their name have ADSL in its specifications.

Query 2:

  Moreover the routers are being specified as with or without modem... which one am I supposed to buy?

 

 

  I asked you telecom customer care, but they were not able to solve my query. Request your help.

The Google once i knew and loved is , imo no more. All i see is a big giant corporation sucking all the privacy it can from nearly all individual who are online.
 
The Fall has been amplified by the recent expose of the PRISM debacle.
 
With Recent move to make real name / real profile associated with your Google account to comment on youtube , things are not all rossy at google.
 

 
Here is another fine example of major f*** up by google , and even more appaling is how we all have started to accept the fact that there is no real support for such a big company. Even though most of the times its all automated , but many years ago , when i had issues with Adsense , it was as if talking to a empty space.
 
But apart from these , I am slowly loosing my confidence and trust on google , the way they have progressed and action they take.
 
Youtube without ABP is pure crap. I cant view 30 sec video without wathcing a 1 min ad , that too on HD , when my actual video i am supposed to watch doesnt run smoothly at 240p , even though its an isp issue , still Google should be aware of my bandwidth , when it is quick enough to change the video from 240p to 144p , me even without asking it , but fails to load a SD ad depending on my speed.
 
Gmail is full of ads again and it started to be listed right above emails too.
 
Picasa is dead and replaced with crap like G+ photo which is viewable for the elite who can have a decent 2mpbs connection.
 
Blogger imo is dead too , with region changing domains , i feel its more shifted towards easy censoring .
 
Google plus is crap and so is FB. May be i am just tired of all these social sites. May be its just me .
 
Apart from these , the main service , the actual search , imo has taken deep dive . The results are no more better. Most of the time it serves me out dated links (2008-2010) , and each time i have to specify to link to 2012-2013 to get more precise results. With all the MPAA/RIAA/other take down request , i am not sure whether the result i am seeing is even the best ones.
 
You cant use Google without using good userscripts (googlifix) to enable all the hidden features , which were once easily available.
 
Android is whole lot different , with Google play/market imo is fuc*** up , with most of the space wasted on movies and books and no real way to show only apps. Still the search on Play is ancient and no real way to filter them.
 
With recent 4.4 KK , and recent issue on how you cant have access to Battery info , i dont know where this is all leading. Even though a lot has been optimized and became effecient , android is again pushing one to use its services .

 

May its all because of PRISM , i have lost all trust on google and each day all i see if they grabbing all the possible information on everyone , to either serve the ads or to nsa or whatever. There is also a general dislike slowly growing towards google.

Bought vodafone k3800 dongle , but confused about the data plans

I have just purchased a k3800 dongle from vodafone from reliance digital shoppee .

 

With this dongle they promised me 4 GB data at 3g speed and Unlimited data after 4 GB is over but at reduced speeds .

 

When i made call to the Customre care at 111 they told me its 1 GB @ 240 rental with additional charges after i cross 1 GB .
