I'm looking to apply for incable broadband.
I have a beetel ADSL 2+ router with me. Is anyone else using any ADSL based router to connect to Internet ? Can
you please tell me how many ports do you have on the router ... and if the WAN port is RJ45 port (like normal other ports) or RJ11 (slightly smaller port than other ports).
Also, what settings do they do in the modem for connecting to the internet ? I'm asking this as if we are able to do the same settings on the adsl router, it might work.Th

| Bsnl 750 Uld Plan Speed Changes? Posted: 13 Nov 2013 02:23 AM PST I am using BSNL broadband, I've used above 8 GB and according to the plan I should be getting 512 Kbps or 0r 0.50 Mbps.But when I am testing my speed I am getting 1.27 Mbps or 1300.48 Kbps.

This is the timeline of how my installation experience has been with ACT BB.
11 Nov-2013 - I applied for a new ACT BB connection today in Kundanahalli Gate, Bangalore. I will keep you posted on the developments.
11-Nov-2013 - Cheque payment made to Sales executive, Babu Reddy, details filled on form and submitted to him.
12-Nov-2013 - At 1616 hrs, IST I receive a call from Mukund who is the ACT technician saying that the wiring has been completed to my apartment on the third floor and i would be receiving a call today at 1700 hrs, IST for username and password. Mukund confirms that I can use my internet connection from tonight.
In case, someone wants to have the contact details of the sales person & field engineer of ACT for Kundalahalli area, let me know. Speed test shows rocking upload and download speeds. I am on Act Force plan.
12-Nov-2013 1159, IST - First level checks indicate amazing speeds with YouTube where I can watch videos without buffering in Full HD. I will keep posting various workloads I consider to be bandwidth intensive and would update this thread.
Any downtime or disconnections will also be reported. |

I installed BSNL BB with Combo ULD 800.
AS per plan speed should be max. 1mbps upto 6gb. But i am getting 1.6mbps speed as per speed test (measured on speedtest.net). How it can be possible. Can any 1 answer??????????????????????????????????????????????
BSNL has taken 2 month to install Landline but bb installation is very quick (2 days after application).
Till now i am satisfied. I am in Vadodara, Gujarat region.
You ppl also can share your experience for this plan and BSNL service. |

But when I am connecting the Alliance cable to the router and the router to my PC, I am unable to proceed with installation. Do i need a modem too? How to go about the installation. Please guide |

Gotta do some running around to get the speed upgraded now... Kids were cribbing about video and audio stutter on YouTube and Internet radio, so had to take the plunge... |

| Airtel HD+ - Query on using existing hard drive partition Posted: 12 Nov 2013 10:56 PM PST Hello Techie folks,
Yesterday, I upgraded to Airtel HD+, which allows us to connect to an external usb storage and record programs.
I have a query that I am hoping to get a resolution on this forum.
I have a 1 TB USB external hard drive which is partioned into 4 drives of roughly 250gb each. I plan to use one partition for HD+ STB. However, as soon as I plug in my hard drive to STB and switch it ON, it asks me to 1) Format drive 2) Go back.
I cannot format the drive, because it carries useful data and run beyond 600 gigs, which I cannot back-up somewhere else, even temporararily. I can't just lose the data (believe me, they are not movies).
I just wish that the STB should prompt me with the drive name, once I select it to format. But, I cannot try this, because, if it doesn't prompts me and formats the entire 1 TB drive, I'll be in soup.
So, if any of you have tried to connect a partitioned hard drive to HD+ STB, could you please share your experience?
Is there any way out?

The press release or the website doesn't state that and also if these plans will be discontinued or existing customers migrated to newer plans.

Standardising Formula One machinery Five-year FIA cost-culling plan revealed 15/10/08 A British newspaper has revealed the FIA's five-year plan to radically slash costs, with the body's president arguing Formula One has become 'unsustainable'. The centrepiece of the package, to be discussed with the F1 teams' alliance FOTA next week in Geneva, is the standardisation of expensive car parts that add little to the show. The London publication The Times claims that Bernie Ecclestone, the Chief Executive of F1's commercial rights holder, backs the Max Mosley-devised plan to 'dramatically' cut costs. Among the measures is the introduction of a controversial standard engine design for 2010, additional energy recovery systems and fuel-efficient engines for 2013, and many 'common parts' for the chassis. "We are completely open to new ideas," Mosley, albeit insisting that engines must be made available to small teams at a low cost, said in a letter to the team bosses. It was an impressive return to the team for Alonso as he put in 70 laps with a best time of 1:19.503s. It was a busy day for the McLaren Mercedes team with de la Rosa putting in 111 laps in his MP4-23 while Kovalainen sixth fastest, completed 130 laps in the new machine. Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa were third and fifth fastest respectively for Ferrari with Nico Rosberg running well in his FW29 with the fourth fastest time. Sebastian Vettel and Sebastien Bourdais proved closely matched for Toro Rosso Ferrari with the seventh and eighth fastest times while Mark Webber was ninth best in the Red Bull Renault. Kazuke Nakajima rounded out the top ten in his Williams Toyota ahead of Timo Glock in the leading Toyota TF108 and Giancarlo Fisichella in the Force India Ferrari. | How much can you download on new MTNL Broadband Plans? Here's a chart Posted: 12 Nov 2013 05:40 PM PST On 12th of November 2013, the old plans were updated with slightly better post FUP speeds.
So here are some calculations on how much GB's one can download on these new plans. Month consisting of 30 days is considered and actual download speed reduced by 10 kBps because no one will get therotical download speed because of overheads.
Please feel free to interpret the findings to find out which plan is more value for money. But also do consider electricity bills in keeping your PC on for whole month. |
