Information about Honesty Net Solutions Posted: 12 Nov 2013 02:01 AM PST I wanted to opt for either fivenet or 1&1. Both are unavailable in my area. Now, local cablewala provides Honesty. And, he quoted unlimited 2Mbps plan for 1599 rs/ month, and 15000 rs/ annum. I liked the plan of 4Mbps @Rs. 1100, for 50GB, it is a prepaid plan inclusive of taxes.I dont know the tariffs of Honesty, it is not given on their website as well. if you could tell what the tariffs are or how to contact honesty, if I want to try to get connection directly from them, if they do so? |

PUBLIC ADVISORY ISSUED IN GENERAL INTEREST OF EVERY BSNL USER Posted: 12 Nov 2013 01:48 AM PST PUBLIC ADVISORY ISSUED IN GENERAL INTEREST OF EVERY BSNL USER
1 Reserve your daytime internet activity to web browsing i.e dont do any heavy downloading like movies, videos etc and try to limit your usage within 2 GB. if possible,* .
You may want to reserve** some last left usage for emergencies like rail reservations, quick research for tomorrows test or the latest Lady Gaga video etc
2 Likewise Facebook, Skype and other SM sites consume lot of bandwidth so beware when socializing
3 Sometimes after logging into your Selfcare a/c, don't PANIC if you see : a. incorrect usage b. inflated bill etc. c. increased day limit
this only means we are striving hard to provide better Customer Service by constantly experimenting and meddling with our resources***
4 Never trust our guy at Customer Care *# to whatever he says
5 Don't pester our hard working*^ employees by frequently visiting them in their offices in their lunch time and nagging them about your small problems.
Their time is too valuable to be wasted on a _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ *^^ customer . Stick to basics and use ur COMMONsense
6 The plan BBG FN600 combo night plan has been reported to to induce widescale Insomnia*! amongst its users . Bsnl cannot be held liable for ur sleep cycles.
7 For change in plans, migration, query. complaints please apply through a proper channel. Do not use selfcare for these purposes and be sure to confirm the charges of doing so, with us personally (seriously guys a personal approach is sometimes good)
8 Suggestions for improvement and efficiency would not be tolerated at any cost
Terms and Conditions* *we are just acting subtle by the use of the words 'if possible' **believe us we do not care for your overusage, we are only happy to bill you even more and to be a part of you in times of your discomforts, (sukh me bhi, dukh me bhi… sath na chode na kabhi) ***we are still not sure how these technology or software works in our server room. We do not have such trained staff to handle such complexities *# if you are ever lucky to get hold of one *^er we are are not sure what this word means and do not expect you to remind us of its meaning. *^^ there can be millions of permutations and combinations to this word. Whatever you fill, at the end its you choose who you are and not we *! for proof check the time of this posting |
Posted: 12 Nov 2013 01:29 AM PST Its becoming ridiculous nowadays and they have started even blurring out the stupid blood scene. I really dont understand what censorship thinks. WE clearly have a rated movies , and each time a movie / programme is telecasted , before it starts , they show what the RATING is . The onus falls on the Viewers whether to skip or watch the movie. Its upto parents to restrict what their kids needs to watch or what they shouldnt.
The censorship is getting stupid each day , its as if they are pushing many adult viewers , to either buy a blur-ray / dvd or pirate stuff.
Watching "Beach" now on MovieNow , and they blurred a stupid scene which JUST showed blood.
-These yesteryear "think-tanks" needs to realize today ,a teen can get whatever they want through various means. Its not that government shouldnt have a role in it , but thats exactly why we have a rating system , which rates a movie or show depending on the content. Its should be left to whoever watches / allows others to watch to decide whether its suitable or not.
With Massive push towards DTH , i think we now have even more control. Each STB can have a option to choose ,what is the least rating movie/show to be shown and it can locked with password, just like how certain channels can be child locked. This way parents can have better control , if they choose to , and leave adult viewers the choice of movies they can watch.
Craps like these are another reason people seek other source of content , where it is uncensored. |

Raymond "Red" Reddington, one of the FBI's most wanted fugitives, surrenders in person at FBI headquarters in Washington, D.C. He claims that he and the FBI have the same interests: bringing down dangerous criminals and terrorists. Reddington will cooperate, but insists that he will speak only to Elizabeth Keen, a rookie FBI profiler. Keen questions Reddington's sudden interest in her, though he claims that Keen is very special. After the FBI brings down a terrorist he provided information on, Reddington reveals that the terrorist is only just the first of many. In the last two decades, he made a list of criminals and terrorists he believes the FBI can't find because they didn't know they exist and that they matter the most. Reddington calls it "The Blacklist".

ACT Broadband - Application and Installation Experience Posted: 12 Nov 2013 12:32 AM PST Hello Forum Members, I joined this forum to share my experience with ACT Broadband. I recently moved into my new apartment and prior to moving in I did a lot of research on the internet service providers in the area since I do a lot of work from home. Luckily I found out that ACT Broadband has coverage in my area and I called them up. On 2nd of November (Chota Diwali) there person came to collect the documents and payment at whichever time I specified. He very clearly said that since that was a Diwali weekend, my connection will get activated latest by Wednesday. He also mentioned that my apartment allready has a DP installed hence it would not be a problem at all. Now comes, 5th of October, Tuesday. I get a call early in the morning from the installation guy from ACT asking for my available time for the wiring. He was very prompt and punctual. It took a total of 15 mins to complete the wiring and he tested the connection and gave the demo. He also said that latest by 6th my connection will get activated and it did. I have not yet got a chance to test the full potential of the connection, however I can say one thing for sure, after reading multiple reviews in this forum, I was skeptical about the initial response of the company, but to my surprise, they were really well behaved and prompt in their response.
Total time it took for me to get the connection: 4 days Total calls made to ACT: 3 (including calling the sales guy)
I will post review about the speed and QOS later.
PS: I am on the 15 MBps / 40 GB plan.
Later homies AC |

Need Truly Unlimited Plans without Caps Posted: 12 Nov 2013 12:26 AM PST For the move back to India I'm looking for unlimited broadband plans. But all of them seem to have some "cap" where the speeds are greatly reduced after a certain limit. I can't tolerate that with my heavy gaming and downloading. Does anyone know of service providers in Chennai who offer unlimited broadband?
Reliance and Airtel both seem to have these "caps". I don't mind paying whatever amount is necessary to have true unlimited broadband... |
