| Really disappointed with Docomo in Karnataka Posted: 08 Oct 2013 02:30 AM PDT I was using a Vodafone connection which was excellent, and ported to Docomo in July 2013 for the sole reason that Vodafone's 3G licence was withdrawn in Karnataka. I wasleft with two options (Airtel and Docomo) which were the only ones having native 3G license in Karnataka. I avoided Airtel because I had used it before, and although Airtel's netwrok is good, they are big time frauds and cheats. I had no idea about Docomo, but since several people told me that Docomo has a pretty good network in Karnataka, I decided to port my number to Docomo.
All was well for a few days, and then the problems started. Docomo's netwrok is fine with respect to normal 2G voice calls, but its pathetic with respect to data. And the customer care too is not at all satisfactory. Let me explain in detail.
1) I have a Nokia Lumia 920 handset. I usually keep my data connection turned off, and only turn it on when required. I have noticed that 9 out of 10 times, I never get the data connection even after turning it on the settings. This is true irrespective of whether I turn on 2G data or 3G data. I have to turn the data connection on and off multiple times, and if I'm lucky, I get the connection after a lot of attempts. I contacted customer care regarding this issue in the beginning of August. He told me to change the access point name from TATA.DOCOMO.INTERNET to TATA.DOCOMO.INTERNETHVC, and this change would resolve my problem. I made this change, but noticed no improvement because the problem still persisted. I called customer care again the next day to tell them that the solution they provided didn't work. To this, the person told me that he has registered a complaint, and I would get a call back within 24 hours to either acknowledge that my issue has been resolved, or to let me know when it will be resolved. That was in the beginning of August, and until today (September 25th), I never got any call from Docomo, and the problem still persists.
2) Second thing is with respect to the language. Although I have clearly set my IVR language as English, I always get connected to the Kannada or Hindi customer care department whenever I choose the option to speak to a customer care representative. They told me that whenever the English department is busy, I get connected to either the Kannada or Hindi department. I specifically told them to change my settings so that I always get connected to the ENglish department, and I don't mind waiting for some time if the lines are busy. The person told me that my issues will be resolved within 24 hours, and after that, I will always get connected to the English department from my number. This was during the second week of August. But until today, the issue hasn't been resolved, and I still get connected to only the Kannada or Hindi departments.
3) Since I was having these issues and wasn't getting any solution by calling customer care, I thought of registering a complaint via the official Tata Docomo website. But for that, I needed to create an acccount and the site never allowed me to crate the account. The problem was that while creating an account, I'm asked to choose a password with a 'special character', but the supported special charaters are never mentioned. I tried passwords with all the special charaters available on my keyboard, but I always got an error which said that my passowrd doesn't contain a special character. This effectively prevents me from ever registering a complaint online.
4) My final issue is with respect to online recharge. The website asks me to enter my number in order to show me the available recharges, but when I enter my number and click 'submit', I always get a message which says 'No topups are currently available for your number'. So to recharge online, i always have to go through the tedious proicess of searching through the available recharges and then selecting the one I require.
If these problems continue, I would have no choice but to port to another operator once I have completed the mnimum duration with Docomo. Since I'm unable to get solution to my probelms in any way, I posted it here so that someone from Docomo might see it and improve their services.

| Tata Docomo 2G/3G connection Problem Posted: 08 Oct 2013 02:24 AM PDT Its been a month since I started using TATAT DOCOMO postpaid connection with rs 350 plan, which promises me 1GB 3G internet + 2G unlimited internet. But as soon I took the connection I realised that TATA DOCOMO internet connets once, stays on for 30 minutes and after that disconnects. It doesnt connect back for the entire day(How many ever times you try). The next day I either have to switch off/on or Remove/Reinsert my SIM to connect the internet back again. I have raised several complaints with Tata Docmo Customer Care regarding this. The solution they gave was to "IP Pooling issue for the entire of karnataka Circle, so Keep turning off/on the data to reconnect back and occasionally try switch off/on also". I am tired of turning off/on my data connection on my MOTOROLA ATRIX 2. My question is when TATA DOCOMO can't provide the service promised, why should I pay their postpaid bill? I feel cheated by this geasture of TATA DOCOMO. Please provide me valuable suggestion to file a Consumer Complaint regarding the same. Customer complaint numbers are 759078273, 381921313 |
| Hathway Hyderabad: Analog signals off Posted: 08 Oct 2013 02:12 AM PDT Today onwards, analog signals of Hathway seem to have been switched off. Apparently the AP High Court had given a deadline for this to happen and today was the day. So hopefully, we might see more channels being added in the digital bouquet. |
| Posted: 08 Oct 2013 02:04 AM PDT compaint no 2326820170 [REF:436279617875] Despite several complaints to their Customer Care & Nodal Officer the problem has not resolved yet. One engineer from Vodafone Network Team also visited my address with all his devices and found that the problem is correct and told me that the problem will be resolved soon. But after 02 days I got a call from their Nodal Office that no problem is there and so nothing can be done and they cannot increase the 3G speed in my area. What Nonsense!!!!!!! Pathetic Service........... Never Choose Vodafone....

| You Broadband has the worst service Posted: 08 Oct 2013 01:51 AM PDT It was down for 18 days. Service is pathetic. I am fed up and so as my friends. I regret by taking you BB. Customer support people says we are facing some issue, sorry for that, thats all they do. in between it started working and now every alternate day it doesn't work. I have used BSNL, Hathway & You till now. Among all worst is YOU. Now yet to try Airtel & ACT. If you have which is better among Airtel & ACT, let me know. All I need is properly working connection.

| Posted: 07 Oct 2013 11:51 PM PDT I wanted to know, if ACT broadband is available at JP Nagar Phase 8. I live in KLV Layout, it's a layout of 8 Appartment buildings all buildings have 24 flats. ACT will surely get good business over here as most people are fed-up of BSNL.
Please let me know about the availability and feasibility of the same.

| ACT Broadband - Have serious customer support issues Posted: 07 Oct 2013 11:25 PM PDT I moved house from Koramangala to Indiranagar and enquired with ACT if they would be able to provide me a connection in the new place. They took their own sweet time and after many phone calls later said they have done the feasibility study and they can in-fact provide me a connection in the new place. I asked them about what about all the days I won't be able to use the connection since they take 15 working days to shift it, they told me repeatedly that it would be credited to my account.
The Transfer Process
Their person came to collect new address proof and promptly took INR 300 as transfer charges. Again the series of calling them about the connection started. Their floor supervisor Mr. S kept stating that they are committed to giving the connection and they will refund the for the time I was unable to use it.
The Excuses start as always
Eventually they started giving excuses on why they can't provide the conncetion. Apparently there is someone in the new building who has a box but refuses to share the connection. So now ACT says that they can't provide the connection unless I go talk to the other customer and convince them. This is the most absurd thing I had ever heard. I have a business relationship with ACT but they want me to do their work. Not only that, I tried to explain to them that I am on their most expensive package, why not shift the box from the other customer to my place and give the connection to them.
Don't want my business
For some reason their customer support isn't interested in my business at all. I have never crossed the FUP limit so I fail to understand why it would be so. The only reasonable explaination is that they don't care at all.
The icing on the cake is that they have agreed to refund the transfer charges of INR 300 but not for the 15 days of unused internet. Right now, I am trying to get in touch with Mr. S and anyone who would understand that this is not the way to treat a customer but so far no luck.
Out of ideas on how to deal with them
If you all have any ideas on how to proceed to either get a connection(25 Mbps is needed for the kind of work I do) or at least if I can get my money back for the time I haven't utilised at all.
