Suggestions for a Gaming laptop - Budget 80K (No Alienware) Posted: 27 Oct 2013 02:26 AM PDT So this is for a friend who wants to buy a new Gaming laptop (not a desktop).
And he is firm that he doesn't want an Alienware.
With a budget of 80K, I'm sure there would be many solid options available for him. Suggestions? |

Posted: 27 Oct 2013 12:55 AM PDT So, I am sick and tired of the piece of shite modem that BSNL gave me. Manu suggested I should get something of my own.
I have a Buffalo Wireless Router so just a modem would suffice. Though I would not mind getting a combo device provided it has similar or better wireless coverage.
The Buffalo router works fine except for one room that is at the opposite far side of the house one floor above. So, it would be nice if that coverage problem can be solved as well?
That sad... My router is Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH. I am not sure if it can be made to work as a modem? Just saying. |

Tata Docomo 2G/3G connection Problem Posted: 26 Oct 2013 11:50 PM PDT Its been a month since I started using TATAT DOCOMO postpaid connection with rs 350 plan, which promises me 1GB 3G internet + 2G unlimited internet. But as soon I took the connection I realised that TATA DOCOMO internet connets once, stays on for 30 minutes and after that disconnects. It doesnt connect back for the entire day(How many ever times you try). The next day I either have to switch off/on or Remove/Reinsert my SIM to connect the internet back again. I have raised several complaints with Tata Docmo Customer Care regarding this. The solution they gave was to "IP Pooling issue for the entire of karnataka Circle, so Keep turning off/on the data to reconnect back and occasionally try switch off/on also". I am tired of turning off/on my data connection on my MOTOROLA ATRIX 2. My question is when TATA DOCOMO can't provide the service promised, why should I pay their postpaid bill? I feel cheated by this geasture of TATA DOCOMO. Please provide me valuable suggestion to file a Consumer Complaint regarding the same. Customer complaint numbers are 759078273, 381921313 |

Posted: 26 Oct 2013 07:54 PM PDT Hi everyone!
I'm planning to get a new connection as soon as I can, and BSNL EVDO is in the list of favourites but I have four doubts:
1. Does the BSNL EVDO work on Windows 8.1 64 bit and OSX Mountain Lion? I have used the CDMA 1X connection before and I'm sure it cannot be used in either of the OS. So, I was a bit worried.
2. How is the signal in North Kolkata, specifically speaking, Greenpark area in Lake Town, Kolkata?
3. In the BSNL EVDO page http://www.bsnl.co.in/opencms/bsnl/BSNL/services/mobile/evdo_prepaid.html they say prepaid for unlimited is 750 and postpaid for unlimited is 830. Is that true? 4. Is the BSNL EVDO prepaid service like mobile phones. Like I can recharge when needed, how much needed (e.g. one month unlimited, next month I don't want internet, so I don't recharge) or do I have to recharge it every month? What if I don't recharge it for a month or two, will the service get disconnected? Thanks! |

Frequent Disconnection / ADSL blinking Issue on MTNL Broadband Posted: 26 Oct 2013 07:37 AM PDT Hi, I am a user of 849NU plan of MTNL Triband service since August based out of Navi Mumbai. All of August, i was very happy to have a lovely connection and good speeds, with a pretty good tariff. But now since the past 15 days I am suffering from very intermittent net connection. Although I am connected to the internet, sometimes the webpages take ages to open, and never open, while at other times it opens instantly. Also downloading has the same pattern, sometimes I get very good speeds of upto 200 Kbps, while other times there is no download. Although all download sites show good Triband Speed, but it is the intermittent connection that is the problem. This problem has crept up in the last 15 odd days, and I have tried everything but no change has been noticed. Has anyone else faced a similar problem, and if yes, whats the work around. The people at MTNL classify this as a slow connection problem, but that is exactly not the issue, as I do get good speeds intermittently. Somebody please help me. |
Condition of MTNL box in your society Posted: 26 Oct 2013 07:33 AM PDT Guys so frustrated with MTNL that I am starting a thread for MTNL box location in your society. I have uploaded this pic just now after several phone call to MTNL broadband guy, AM, SDO, GM & what not however no action is taken and broaband kepps coming anfd going off. This is the worst condition and water is dripping from top from a air conditioning duck. I am also going to sent an email with this pic to the mtnl so called babus so that they can see what the hell is going on in my society.
Airtel speed sucks and they have fup but atleast in my society they have a decent box installed with proper wiring. Here you can see the MTNL wiring and the box does not even has a close lid.
If you guys have the same or the worse scenario do share you experience with the pic.

YOu Broadband: Worst service for Internet Posted: 26 Oct 2013 05:32 AM PDT Worst Service, I dont think this company has any policy, no SLA, I have raised a request on 19th , then since past 3 days my internet is not working and no one in technical team calls , this company is total fraud, just take money and dont give service. Its always better to go for good brands like Airtel and dont come under influence of such cheap plans. Atleast we get for what we pay. here 1200 rs gone withouht the whole month internet and then the reply comes, since you have used it for 1 hour in a day , we wont give you extension. |

Fernando Alonso News and Updates Posted: 26 Oct 2013 05:09 AM PDT Fernando Alonso topped the timesheets on his return to Renault today at Jerez lapping the Spanish circuit a tenth clear of countryman Pedro de la Rosa. It was an impressive return to the team for Alonso as he put in 70 laps with a best time of 1:19.503s. It was a busy day for the McLaren Mercedes team with de la Rosa putting in 111 laps in his MP4-23 while Kovalainen sixth fastest, completed 130 laps in the new machine. Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa were third and fifth fastest respectively for Ferrari with Nico Rosberg running well in his FW29 with the fourth fastest time. Sebastian Vettel and Sebastien Bourdais proved closely matched for Toro Rosso Ferrari with the seventh and eighth fastest times while Mark Webber was ninth best in the Red Bull Renault. Kazuke Nakajima rounded out the top ten in his Williams Toyota ahead of Timo Glock in the leading Toyota TF108 and Giancarlo Fisichella in the Force India Ferrari. Kamui Kobayashi brought up the bottom of the timesheets in the second Toyota while Super Aguri Honda did not run after problems encountered yesterday. Renault continued its preparations for 2008 today with Fernando Alonso taking over driving responsibilities from Nelson Piquet. It was an important day as it was Alonso's first appearance in Renault colours since being confirmed as a 2008 race driver in December. Arriving at the Jerez circuit yesterday evening, the Spaniard spoke to the engineers to understand how the first day of the programme had gone, and to prepare for his two days work with the team. His first day behind the wheel gave the Spaniard the opportunity to drive a car in accordance with the 2008 electronic regulations, and most significantly without traction control. It was also a good opportunity to reacclimatise to the team with which he has worked for six years in the past. At the end of the session, having covered 70 laps, the overall result was an encouraging first day as Alonso topped the timesheet with a best lap of 1:19.503s. Fernando Alonso "The result of my first day in the car is encouraging. I could not wait to drive again, but at the same time I was a bit tentative. I quickly settled back in to the team and everything went well. We made good progress throughout the day, but there is a lot still to do. I had to adapt at first to the car and get used to driving the car without traction control, but I am convinced that that soon I will be used to this and will not remember what is was like to drive with traction control." |
