Hi guys .

I am using bsnl broadband from last 1 year.I am paying Rs 500 + Rs 250 per month .The speed is horrible at just 256 kbps.But the download is unlimited which is a good thing.I recently saw a advertisement in which it was advertising that the speed goes upto 3.6 mpbs.I was like WTF.

So here are my questions->

1)Is the speed really 3.6 mpbs?
2)After completing the data usage according to Fair use policy ,does the speed gets reduced to 128 kbps???
If it gets reduced ,is it really 128kbps or lower than that??

Our current 35L Venus Geyser seems to be giving problems. Got the element replaced twice still not heating properly.

 

Not sure which element the electrician replaced it with ?

 

So Mom is saying to get a new one any suggestions :)

Are these so called Insta credit cards which are issued by branch directly worth going for to make International purchases and paypal ?

 

They are issued by Axis and ICICI.

 

Was thinking to go with Axis.

On website its written 1day unlimited but those who have used it  might know already that its 2days unlimited :tongue:

 

BSNL still the best in Wireless Broadband :D No TataPhoton, Mblaze or Reliance Netconnect can beat BSNL EVDO :P

Hi all,

 

I need a new broadband connection. good  FUP of minimum 100GB and a minimum speed of 5mbps. I stay in New Tippassandra, Bangalore. I tried to get ACT but they said they do not provide in the area (even though their website says they have connections in New Tippasandra; False advertising). Somebody please suggest asap.

ACT False Advertising

I have recently moved to New Tippassandra, and on the ACT website I have seen that they provide connections there. I have also seen a lot of leaflets stuck near my house. However, when I called and asked for a new connection, they said that they are not providing in the area. Is this not false advertising? Can this be taken up with the law? Somebody please advise. If any ACT personel see this, tell me why you will not provide to my house which is in New Tippasandra.

According to new rules set out by the FIA, the winning team from the previous season has to pay more money to race in the new season. Considering Vettel has a 77 point lead in the 2013 season — 272 points compared to Fernando Alonso's 195 — having two cars, with two drivers racking up the wins could cost a mint. And then some. So with the season nearly clinched, there's no reason point in incurring even more fees by adding another competitor in the mix.

Very poor service Tata Sky...

I used to have airtel DTH all these years and when i shifted to my new house, the tata sky folks said they would install common dish for the entire apartment. After i subscribed to them i realized their reception is way way poor compared to what i had at airtel. The only reason i was going with tata was that the dolby digital audio was availalbe thru the hdmi cable ( airtel needs optical cable if you want digital). Its been two months and after several complaints and several folks attending to it, they have thrown a blank face and concluded that theirs is as good as the channels and they ahve nothing to do with the poor reception. Thru their DVR box there is a phase lag between audio and video on several channels ( which i never had in airtel). Their conclusion for that again is that they ahve nothung to do with it. bad mistake to have taken Tata Sky and i am rereting it badly. I am not sure if others are having the same issue. 

 

I have called the airtel folks to come and take a look and se if they can move me to their service - funny they have not come to me yet. I hope they will do that soon. Tata sky is the worst possible service i can say. If we spend a lot of money with new LED TVs and home theater equipment and they know theirs is not the best of the service out there - they are better of accepting than blaming it on the reception . Really sad. I would strongly not recommend Tata Sky if you are looking for HD quality transmission.

I am planning to get a new MTNL broadband connection with unlimited download. Any suggestion which plan i should go for??  i am confused between new promotional  plans i.e 620 unlimited and 749 unlimited and 800 combo . 

 

Also i want to know about what benefits if any  ill get if i choose a connection under promotional period like installation fee waiver, free modem etc.

Degrading BSNL Broadband and its Infrastructure. No hope in sight :(

I have been a BSNL customer for some years now , more because its the only ISP in many parts of the south india. Starting from the later half of this year , the BSNL broadband has been slowly degrading.

 

Every weekend , BSNL networks starts to crumble under the load (weekend influx of users) and not until Tuesday , the network starts to come back to normal.

 

It been happening for past 2-3 weeks. My SNR are within normal.

 

Here is current ping to google dns , so inconsistent , and also so high . Usually my pings are 20-40ms , but since its monday and as i said before , pings are horrible.

Routing is bad , and i dont know if bsnl is going to improve its infrastructure.

 

Today placed a complaint and got calls from local BSNL officer , regional officer . Regional officer had no clue what i was telling , as he kept saying my speed is 512kbps and it will soon be 4mbps coming 1st.. *facepalm* and i kept repeating the issue is with Routing and not with my speeds. I just said to tracert to one ip (valve server ) and look at the route  and see for the lagging / latency node (TATA server)

Did try to contact TATA , but they said to instead contact my upstream provider , ie BSNL :(

With no other ISP in my place , and no other prvt players coming along the road in any time soon .. Dont know what else to do.

 

With more dwindling profits , BSNL is in precarious condition and letting it fail will eventually lead to more people being cut off from internet , letting it live will only deteriorate the already present horrible network. Right now in Catch 22 situation .

 

 

All i think we can do currently is keep lodging complaint after complaint . But the current mentality of BSNL personnel's is to run an OK network , irrespective of it performs.

 

Does it lag ? Do you have latency while gaming ? Not able to run a decent 240p youtube video ?
