| The highest download speed you ever reached Posted: 13 Sep 2013 02:54 AM PDT Once at a friend's place (hostel) there was an unsecured wifi network, and I downloaded at almost 1MBps. I would often go to his place to download. But, after 1-2 months the network became secured and so it was the end of delight. So, anyways what is the highest download speed you have ever got? |
| Call centre says 24 "business hours" Posted: 13 Sep 2013 02:48 AM PDT My internet stopped working on 11th sept due to some fiber cut, call centre representative told that it will be fixed within 24 business hours. I called them yesterday they told it will be fixed in24 business hours. Today a representative tells that 24 business hours = 3 working days.
Internet is still down!!

| In India, if you are less than 18 years old... Posted: 13 Sep 2013 02:47 AM PDT A very serious thought came into my mind last night. I thought I might share it with you guys. In India, if you are less than 18 years old, then you can- 1) rape women 2) kill people 3) do burglary 4) do many crimes And, get away with max 3 years sentence. This is very serious issue. The so called juvenile in delhi gangrape case, despite proven guilty and was told to be the most vicious in that rape got away with just 3 years sentence. He was 17 years and 6 months old while he commited that crime. 17 & half years old committing such heinous crime, should be given death penalty. The law is so outdated and static. Now, in mumbai gangrape case, one accused said he was minor giving his leaving certificate as a proof. I don't know if they really do bone check for determining the age. I really don't trust the machinery in India. But, he could also get away swiftly. So, point I'm trying to make here is, If you are less than 18 years old in India, you can do whatever, and get away very easily. What are your thoughts.... |

I installed BSNL BB with Combo ULD 800.
AS per plan speed should be max. 1mbps upto 6gb. But i am getting 1.6mbps speed as per speed test (measured on speedtest.net). How it can be possible. Can any 1 answer??????????????????????????????????????????????
BSNL has taken 2 month to install Landline but bb installation is very quick (2 days after application).
Till now i am satisfied. I am in Vadodara, Gujarat region.
You ppl also can share your experience for this plan and BSNL service. |

| Posted: 13 Sep 2013 12:54 AM PDT I have been a customer of airtel broadband for about 6-7 years.Initially i had 256 kbps plan and then they automatically upgraded it to 512 after a few months with no extra charge (i don't remember the tariff).then after some time i wanted more speed to download torrents and so i changed to swift 1099 ;then they fuped it with post fup 512kbps and i felt it was acceptable.Then again they discontinued the plan upgraded my plan to a 2mbps with 512kbps after (25gb) fup at 200 rs extra charge.All was going well until two months ago when they changed my plan to 2mbps for 30gb with 256 kbps post fup. Now my speed gets downgraded within few days and 256 kbps is a pain. When i reached CC they are responding that a 2mbps plan with post FUP 512 kbps never existed.What is airtel thinking?????? |

i hope am posting this in the correct section. i have the dock in subject. have a FreeAgent Goflex 500 GB 2.5" portable HDD to go with it. however, when connected to the dock through the SATA port, only the green light comes up and becomes stable. the white light doesn't come up. i have the latest version of seagate dashboard (seagate dashboard 2.0, as well as seagate dashboard powered by memeo) installed. those too don't recognise any drive connected. the HDD is working fine otherwise, when connected to the PC through USB.
please note: - i want to use the NAS for mainly torrent-downloads. - as per the seller, a torrent-client is already installed by him, on default factory firmware, and no linux knowledge is needed for operation (which i anyway don't have). - he had provided me with a username and password, and the addresses to access the torrent-client and the NAS portal, but they don't open. - my router is MTNL/Beetel 450TC1, and DHCP is enabled. - windows firewall does have exception added for seagate dashboard. - turning off the antivirus program wasn't of any use as well.
please suggest what could be done. even a link to any blog/page that describes how to set this up and troubleshoot this 'drive not recognised' issue would be good. looking forward to some suggestions.

ADSL2+
Router : TP-Link TD-W8951ND (ADSL+Wifi) Enabling/Disabling Router Firewall and Kaspersky Firewall makes no difference. G.Dmt doesn't help either.
Because of the disconnections i cannot play games online and the overall internet experience is terrible. How the hell do i solve this issue? Please help. |

Acc No :412315 I have been clearly told by Marketing executive Mr Ramachandra that my connection is a post-paid and I have confirmed it more than thrice. I have the document which says its a post-paid connection. Now , all of a sudden within 10 days i get to know that ACT has changed my post paid plan to pre-paid and i am asked to pay advance rental for next month. My question here is who has authorised ACT BB to change my plan from POST PAID to PRE-PAID....even if it was done i was never kept informed about it!!!! I have raised several complaints but those never fall to their deaf ears....Nodal Officer Kiran Kumar from Act BB has been as dumb as he can be!!! He called up on a early sunday morning as to y i had posted my complaint!!! Now when i explained him the scenario, he never turned up again!!! Well Marketing exec Ramachandra is cheating ppl saying false committments and just making them pay money and even many a times connection is not even provided!!! I want to stop this non sense from ACT BB who are spreading like a Virus. Through this forum i want to say dont buy Act bb iF u want to waste ur money ,then pls donate to charity rather than these crap frauds !!! |

| VOD not working through WiFi Netgear Dongle Posted: 12 Sep 2013 10:23 PM PDT I've configured my WiFi Netgear Dongle (Netgear WNCE2001) to my WiFi Internet connection. Dongle successfully connects to the WiFi router and I'm able to browse the internet using that. Router is configured with DHCP enabled in PPPoE mode. When I connect to the Tata Sky HD+ STB, the IP connection is showing successful and interestingly it's listing all the available titles under VOD. But if I give any programme for download, it never downloads. It always stuck at 0%. I've tried connecting STB directly to the router using ethernet cable. There is absolutely no issue with downloading and everything works fine. So it cannot be direct issue with the ISP provider. May not be any issue with STB also, since it's downloading when connected directly. As I mentioned before, I tried connecting to internet using the dongle, there is no issue with that browsing. So I'm not suspecting any issue with Dongle able to work with ISP provider. Can anyone help me point out where else can it go wrong? Am I missing something here??
