Airtel Legal team from Delhi troubling calls

Posted: 28 Aug 2013 02:26 AM PDT

Dear Sir/Madam,

I was using Airtel broadband connection (080-42168769) for the past 5 years. Two month back i request for disconnection of my connection (Request number 34938332) same was accepted by airtel and disconnected my connection. As per mail and customer care call final bill was 3,328. Since i had 500 Rs deposit with Airtel, i had detected Rs 500 and payed Rs 2828 through Check (Check number 475508), same was communicated on call and mail. Now after two month i am getting many call from Airtel Delhi legal dep asking me to pay Rs 560. They are treating me very badly giving me 1 hour time to pay the amount. I had visited Airtel store, and called customer care but no help.
I had requested this legal dept to get representative from Airtel to talk with, but they are not listening to me and keep saying to pay Rs 560.
Is this a way to treat a customer who stayed with Airtel for 5 years and payed 1800 to 2000 Rs per month?
whom to contact to resolve this issue?
Below was the last mail communication with Airtel.

The highest download speed you ever reached

Posted: 28 Aug 2013 02:15 AM PDT

Once at a friend's place (hostel) there was an unsecured wifi network, and I downloaded at almost 1MBps. I would often go to his place to download. But, after 1-2 months the network became secured and so it was the end of delight. So, anyways what is the highest download speed you have ever got?

Router madness!

Posted: 28 Aug 2013 02:12 AM PDT

Help!!

I've ordered a Asus Wi-Fi router and it got delivered sometime back.

The Binatone DT845W wi-fi router installed by Airtel has a 54mbps throughput, and I upgraded to Asus for better network throughput - 300mbps which is fine for me.

Now here's the thing.

Now, today while trying to configure Asus router, I discovered a catch. The stupid Binatone router, has a line-in port - and not a ethernet-in port. There are 4 LAN ports. So it is a telephone line jack(RJ-11) which fits into Binatone router, whilst my Asus router does not have any RJ-11 port. There is only a RJ-45 port available.

So basically I cannot plug the line from ADSL distribution point directly into my Asus router.

I am considering using the Asus router now only as a wi-fi access point, while binatone router acts as a router without wi-fi. But again, I think there might be issues later on in stuff such as multiplayer gaming and all, since now I'll be behind two routers instead of one.

Anyone has any idea how to just remove the binatone router from this entire network.

solution for bsnl evdo online rechage

Posted: 28 Aug 2013 01:49 AM PDT

hey guys

i am using bsnl evdo since last two months here in surat and i am very happy about its performance i am getting a speed of above 250 KBps some times 300kBps but connection fails when it touches 300 kbps mark, i have a prithvi modem with 3.1mbps speed max :nonchalance:

youtube works cool with 480p resolution without any buffering ,torrent and idm downloads works fine too ,i will advice all where ever u r in the country to go for evdo even if it gives u a 500kbps speed its worth buying because there is no unlimited plan available at this price any where else :peaceful:

let me tell u some of my experiences with evdo

signal and speed :- well the tower is 3 km away from house i use to get 3 bars and at some location in my house 4 bars but i found that speed has got nothing to do  with the signal , even when i got 4 bars i got speed of 700 kbps to 1mbps speed only at some locations and i also got speed of above 2 mbps withs 3 bars at other locations ,so i think location is important  i have found one location with4 bars and speed of 2.4 mbps  sometime i use to get 2.7 mbps speed specially at night but the modem collapses , there is no disconnection problem with evdo

rechage :- whenever i go to bsnl office for recharge they send me back empty hand ...they r all confused ..they dont no much about evdo :pissed-off:

and when i went to neary by shop they even dont know anything and refuse to rechage :pissed-off:

i got fed up with this and one day i decided to do online rechage my plan is general  prepaid and i use to pay 825 rs recharge for 30 days unlimited i went with paytm.com and did the rechage for data card and luckily it worked .....now rechaging has become convinent and hassale free for me.........people with bundle usage plan can do top up from same website to maintain there balance above 750 for unlimited plans :joyous:

my every problem has got solved now and i am enjoying the benifits ,,if u have any quary plz feel free to ask

PEtition for better upload speeds

Posted: 27 Aug 2013 10:54 PM PDT

Hello internet friends!

currently bsnl and mtnl are giving 300 kbps upload speeds in 3g. Which is like 2g speed.

I have started a petition to ask MTNL and BSNL to increase upload speeds. WHile other private operators give 1.8-3 mbps uploads MTNL and BSNL have capped upload to measely 300 kbps. both on GSM and CDMA.

If you agree that these speeds are slow then please sign the petition:

http://www.change.org/en-IN/petitions/bsnl-and-mtnl-govt-telecom-companies-india-increase-upload-speeds-in-3g-from-28-kbps-to-at-least-1-8-mbps?share_id=XbRpTWSzNN&utm_campaign=autopublish&utm_medium=facebook&utm_source=share_petition

Even after paying so much amount we get so slow upload speeds.

I would request you to please sign this petition and i will forward it to telecom minister and other officials  so that they can change the cap.

Hope you will support this cause!

Request to @airtel_presence to provide an option to disable SmartBytes redirections

Posted: 27 Aug 2013 10:51 PM PDT

Starting a thread for you to retweet to appeal to Airtel Broadband to provide an option to disable random redirections to SmartBytes page.

Reasons?

1. Almost all users who are getting randomly redirected would probably know about SmartBytes and would do it manually if they are interested in getting a SmartBytes package. Airtel already sends an email when the user crosses 80% and 100% of his usage, that is the proper place to promote this 'scam'.
2. Random redirections are bad for the end user as it breaks the flow of browsing. It can result in data loss for users who are trying to post a comment on a blog or forum. It can lead to incomplete online transactions which can result in major headaches for the user paying for a product or service online.

Buying and Selling products through OLX

Posted: 27 Aug 2013 09:59 PM PDT

I am giving it a second try. I listed my 2012 Google Nexus 7 3G 2 days ago. Just got one query. But as expected, it was quite absurd. He wants me to drop the price 40%. Claims to have Google as his client. Says Google is offering him the 2013 edition of the 3G variant for Rs. 18000 (US price is going to be above Rs. 22000). It's fun. I told him to get it because it is an excellent deal. He said he is planning on getting that but wanted a backup device for testing. I am assuming he is an Android developer and if he is right, Google seems to be offering the new model at pretty amazing prices to developers here in India even before it is launched in the US market.

Listed two more products for variety. I know people here have had much success with OLX. Share your stories!

Micromax A116 Canvas HD

Posted: 27 Aug 2013 09:27 PM PDT

Micromax A116 Canvas HD announced, packs 5-inch 720p display

Dubbed as A116 Canvas HD, the smartphone comes with 5-inch 1280x720p IPS display.

The display on A116 is not the only improvement over A110, but Micromax has also packed a 1.2GHz MediaTek quad-core processor in the smartphone. The Canvas HD also comes with 8MP rear camera, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, 1GB RAM, front camera, 2100 mAh battery and the usual connectivity options.

Micromax has revealed that A116 Canvas HD will go on sale starting first week of February for a price-tag under INR 15,000, but did not disclose the exact pricing.

Could this be a reason of decline in A110 stock, and increase in prices of the limited stocks.

Also, would this be the new recommendation over iBall Andi 4.5h ;)

Fivenet UT 5 Mbps plan in Thane

Posted: 27 Aug 2013 11:41 AM PDT

Yesterday i saw an annual plan of UT 5mbps (640KBps) for Rs. 6999/ in Thane. This seems very impressive. A 5mbps unlimited for just 7000 bucks. Even if i get 70%of what is promised I'll get approx  450 KBps and it will cost me about 600 rs per month. Has anyone in thane opted for this plan?  Or can anyone tell me haw are the high speed plans of 5Net in thane or mumbai as well? Do you get the promised speed or at least 70% of the promised speed? I stay in Thane at Brahmand. Thnx.

Airtel Network and Internet Issue

Posted: 27 Aug 2013 11:04 AM PDT

I am using Samsung S3 and Airtel sim in it, it has worst internet speed, for opening facebook it takes 10 min list, i have tried other internet connection it works very well with the handset. I thought it could be my mobile problem but I have tried with every way from my side like formated mobile, internet setting also correct but still it is worst. I am not getting network in my room and if i will come just out side the room there is full network for the airtel, even though Airtel tower is just withinf 100 to 200m from my room (this is max distance actually i think it is within 100m) I am loosing my important calls due to this and every other mobile network is full inside my room. I have tried for MNP but as my number is new they are not permitting MNP (less than 6 months we cannot port). and the worst thing is that I am using 2 mobiles (1 S3 and other dual sim samsung phone) and I have 2 Airtel numbers in that :( I am very old customer of Airtel may be last 8 to 9 years, and now I give up on Airtel. Guys if you have any Idea by which I can get good network in my room (Parijat Society, Hadapsar, Pune) and good Internet speed please please let me know or any number by which I can provide my Complaint to Airtel (if helpful).
