Posted: 23 Jul 2013 02:20 AM PDT About a week back i noticed some digging near my house and after i saw them laying some wires i went on to ask them what are they actually doing and they said reliance network lines are being placed .. im soo happy finally reliance in my area which means 4 mbps speed !! though it will probably take them a few months to start it but still !! |
Tikona Broadband User Experiences Posted: 23 Jul 2013 02:17 AM PDT Thought I would start another thread for people who have actually used this service to describe their experience. They have started advertising quite heavily in Bombay and their plans seem pretty decent. Their 600kbps UL plan would be excellent for me. I really like the way they have bill limits for their limited plans as well. That shows they understand consumer concerns about enormous bills and have designed their plans to allay them. So how good is their service? Any down time? How quickly do they respond to complaints? Really any information from people who have used Tikona would be appreciated. |

Network Traffic Monitoring on Airtel Broadband Posted: 23 Jul 2013 01:15 AM PDT Hi,
I have an 8 mbps Airtel BB connection. The ADSL2+ router is Beetel 450 TC1.
I also have about 5-7 laptops, all using a Wifi connection to connect to the Internet.
I want to monitor the traffic at the ADSL router level. All i need is the aggregate Rx & Tx for a particular PC or laptop.
As i can gather from many of the posts here, people are already complaining about Airtel bumping up the consumption statistics. I have a very similar problem because my 30GB quota gets over in 5-6 days and there is no misuse.
I have heard about some tools on the net like PRTG Network Monitoring, etc. How does one enable SNMP on the Beetel 450 TC1?
Is there any other tool that someone has used to monitor network traffic and bandwidth usage at the router level?
Thank you and Regards,

Posted: 23 Jul 2013 01:13 AM PDT I get very low pings to game servers when im assigned 59.x.x.x ips, the pings are around 500-650ms during day with 117.x.x.x. It goes down to 240-270ms during night but thats as low as it goes. Would it be possible to get 59.x.x.x ip/gateway. I get 40-60ms pings with that.
PS. Sorry if this is a noob q. :/ |

Worst Service ACT Broadband in Bangalore Posted: 22 Jul 2013 11:53 PM PDT Hi
I have applied for ACT connection on 5-July in Narayanpura but till now no one has come for installation .
Every day I am calling customer care but they are telling me the same thing " sir today one engineer will come for installation, sorry for the inconvenience " .
Please tell me what's the meaning of today in ACT's dictionary. I don't want to waste my money and time by calling and sending mail to ACT.
I have sent two mail to nodal officer also but still didn't get any response.
If you cant give me the service then return my money . My local broadband Airwired is giving me one day installation. The only reason I choose ACT is because of high speed internet but I can't sustain with low speed service.

First MMORPG by Origin Systems Posted: 22 Jul 2013 10:54 PM PDT
Ultima Online (UO) is a graphical massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), released on 24 September 1997,by Origin Systems. It was instrumental to the development of the genre, and is still running today. The game is played online, in a fantasy setting similar to that of the other Ultima games that preceded it.
This game belongs to the first generation of MMORPGs, being equal to the game Everquest I, ancestor of 90% of today's second-generation MMORPG. A distinctive feature of the game is a huge functionality, freedom of choice and behavior.
For example, such well-known and loved by many players games like World of Warcraft, Lineage 2, Ragnarok does not even have 30% of the features and functionality Ultima Online have. Being a hardcore-PVP oriented, Ultima Online represents the greatest freedom for lovers of PVE and PVP, than any of the online games ever released. ![]() Last release of this game was in 2011 and players from youngsters till "fathers" around the world still play and enjoy this game! From 1st august 2013 you can enjoy this game for free in India! |
Posted: 22 Jul 2013 10:21 PM PDT ok MTNL delhi user we all have told to use DNS (Primary) 59.179.243.70 and Alternate DNS (Secondary) : 203.94.243.70 for it .. now i tried to check the speed not by some tool but by simple cmd cammands .
though people suggest using google DNS (8.8.8.8) and 8.8.8.4(often dead on mtnl net ) .
if u try pinging them both seperately u will see that both take equal time

TataSky migrating to MPEG4; will exchange MPEG2 STBs free of cost Posted: 22 Jul 2013 09:20 PM PDT We are replacing close to 5-6 million MPEG-2 SD STBs at no cost to consumers over the next year. All of this is coming in from internal accruals.
But you need to wait for one more year to see many new channels
We have been adding channels in a phased manner; the process will now be accelerated with the MPEG-4 STB. By June-July next year we should be able to revise our channel offerings to consumers,

Router problem with Reliance Broadband Posted: 22 Jul 2013 08:02 PM PDT Okay, so after several months of complaining and going into depression because I can't play the only game I play online, I have figured that Reliance Metro doesn't work with routers.
I have two routers:a Belkin and a Netgear N300/WNR2000v2. I used the Belkin with BSNL, and it worked flawlessly. When I plugged Reliance with the Belkin, I started experiencing disconnections roughly every 60-75 minutes or sometimes more often. So I borrowed the NetGear from my cousin and it still behaved like the Belkin.
For the past three nights, I have used the ethernet cable as a direct connection into the CPU, and have experienced no disconnections in varying time frames (3 - 6 hours). It works great! One thing I am sure about is - the problem is not the router, but the router being in the network setup - if you know what I mean. Somehow, as weird as it sounds, Reliance does not like routers. And yes, I am using my computer's MAC address in the router.
Any ideas or help here? |
Online streaming is not smooth on Reliance Broadband Posted: 22 Jul 2013 07:58 PM PDT Hello,
I apologize if this topic is already discussed.
Installed reliance broadband 2days back, 2Mbps pack.
I get proper speed while torrent download, once i got 10Mbps for a torrent (downloaded a movie-700MB in 34mins.)
Youtube works fine. Can watch 480p videos without any issue.
But when it comes to online streaming (other than youtube), its not at all smooth. Video keeps stuttering all the time, for all video qualities 240,360,480 As i have not disconnected my previous internet connection (BSNL 512kbps ) yet, i tried streaming there. Its smooth for 240p.
Please help me with this.
Is there any software that can help me use the full bandwidth while surfing?
Regards. |
