If by "TRAI", you mean "DoT", then yeah. But if Telecoms companies in India had to pay out for every time they lied in advertising... they'd all be in receivership.

Need help buying 3G sim - for roaming Mumbai/Kerala/Bangalore

Posted: 03 Sep 2010 01:37 AM PDT

(Crossposting from the BSNL sub-forum)

I want to purchase a 3G sim for my Nexus one. I will be using it in Mumbai(New Panvel)/Bangalore/Kerala.

First, some background information (correct me if am wrong):
* BSNL is not available in New Panvel
* Buying MTNL in New Panvel and using it elsewhere is not an option as their roaming charges are exorbitant.
The pre-paid data rates are:
BSNL: Local and roaming at 1ps/10KB
MTNL: Local at 2ps/10KB and roaming at 10ps/10KB!!

I have the following options:
* Buy BSNL in Kerala and use it on roaming in New Panvel. BSNL says that 3G roaming is allowed.
- Does MTNL allow BSNL to roam on its network?

* Buy BSNL for other places and MTNL for Mumbai.

Thanks in advance.

Posted: 03 Sep 2010 01:27 AM PDT

Hi,

Guyz, I m in hell lot of tension. Recently I shifted near to Metro, Kanakapura, Bangalore. N to ma luck there is no broadband or wireless connection available here. Previously I was using YOU Broadband, however dey do not provide service in this area.

I thought of BSNL EVDO however even they have no service in this area.

Please suggest me with the available connections in this area. Only hope is BSNL, however I m looking for other service providers too. I can try wireless if it gives a good speed( upto 100Kbps). HELP....

Finally i told them to return my cheque and they said my amount will be returned within 60 days. Can you believe it? They actually encashed the cheque before they gave the connection and now they are asking for 60 days for payment. Ridiculous. Reliance is a 420 company, stay away. Sorry Airtel, i ever thought of changing the ISP.

@Shaq774
Can you share your contact details with me so that i can try to help you out.
