In that very unlikely scenario, no. It's 100GB each way.

Presumably the only way this would ever happen is someone seeding like hell. You could, however, get away with purchasing a 6 or 12GB pack and limiting your uploads until the rest of your 50GB is used.

No port blocking except for 25 and a couple of others. Torrents will work fine and tonight I have installed a torrent tracker on Hayai's webserver to see how it goes.

It will be a private tracker for Hayai customers - when you download a torrent from any public tracker, you can add the tracker URL and hash in to your torrent client and if there is a seed within Hayai's network, then that torrent will come through as a local (free) transfer at full speed. If the torrent is not there, then you can upload the .torrent file to the tracker in case someone else wants to download the same torrent also.

Is it like connecting from the ground wire to our flats inside the walls like drilling etc???

As u know our society does not allow drilling or any kind of constructions.

It depends what the society will allow. We will try to use the least invasive method possible, but in case there are no cable ducts or anything like that for us to use, we will probably have to screw small brackets to walls to hold cabling in place and possibly, but not likely, mount splitters as well (rather than leave things hanging in a haphazard fashion).

Yes, you would - ideally we'd like to charge a small "holding fee" for this, but not 100% sure if we'll do that or just leave it free. If we do, it wouldn't be a large fee, maybe equivalent to Rs100 a month or so.

LOOK !! My speed of BSNL 3G which i am getting in Pune

Posted: 17 Jan 2011 02:38 AM PST

Once the speed drops (check it for 1 week to confirm) to 340~ kBps browsing, you only need to change your SIM. It is due to BSNL's authentication problem which is unable to differentiate BSNL 2G and 3G consumer in internet access field.

Samsung Galaxy S vs HTC Desire HD

Posted: 17 Jan 2011 02:38 AM PST

I bought a Galaxy S last month and i am very happy with my decision.
Main advantage of Galaxy S is wondeful screen and light weight. Yes i agree that phone is slower (not processor) compared to HTC but HTC DHD is very bulky and also with that 1230mah battery, i doubt whether it can last for a day with normal usage.
I suggest you to wait for another month as more models will be launched. Also Nexus S will be here with a similar pricing. You may get a dual core processor phone for similar price.

BSNL 3G help

Posted: 17 Jan 2011 02:30 AM PST

Hi @logmein
I would suggest you Huawei UMG1381 (21MBps). It is one of the finest data card available for 3G network. It may not be available in local market (try finding from Chandni Chowk market area if you are lucky). You also can get it from Ebay India.
BSNL is good for 3G. Try getting a fresh and new 3G connection. 1499per month for unlimited data is nice plan under 3G.
You may have some network problem or BSNL's own authentiacation problem which causes dtata rate droping even in 3G customer's sim. A new connection would solve it.
Or you can try a BSNL 2G sim with RS 8/- recharge(10GB 2 days) which is as accessible as 3G sim in 3G network. Try it. If you are satisfied then convert it to 3g network after 1 day using rechrge of Rs-1/-.
Also set network to UMTS only when surfing.

Airtel fair usage policy

Life after 31 Jan 2011 when unlimited plans end..

Posted: 17 Jan 2011 02:18 AM PST

i think people have become apprehensive about post 29-Jan as though they have been depended upon 3g for a lifetime. had bsnl not introduced UL plans, the 3g service would have been nothing but crap. bsnl have somewhat lived up to the expectation of customers (complaints apart) In India, users have been able to surf internet at such speeds wirelessly just bcoz of 3g. though poor cust.support spoils it all, it has been a gud experience so far. now that 3g has been known to one and all, LTE will take its own time to catch up here. i have always felt that wired BB is about consistency and 3g is about satisfying an urge for speed that occurs suddenly. for a user like me, who get constant speeds al the time, it is very much possible and satisfying to pay 700 a month (6months plan). wgich none of the private operators can and did provide.
I think saturation is nearly acheived at almost all places, so that is not something we should wait to see in the distant future.

Vodafone has finally woken up 3GB for Rs 198

Posted: 17 Jan 2011 02:17 AM PST

I had given the request to activate the Vodafone Mobile connect 3 GB, Rs 198 plan 3 days back for my Delhi number. After 3 days and 3 calls to Customer Support, it is still not activated. They have been telling me that the Data plan wasnt activated because of a System error.
Wake up Vodafone, you can't activate a Data Plan in 3 days, when others are doing it in 3 hrs.
Mobile Number Portability is just a few days away.

I would be sad to switch my 12 yr old no from Vodafone, but it seems there is no other option.
Moreover they have a Rs 10,000 security deposit. In those days they took that much security to enable International roaming. It will be nice to get it back :)

So what do I move to - Airtel ? I need the best coverage as I travel to remote places like Leh.

Teracom 3.6mbps driver/software needed

Hi guys. I have already gotten my datacard replaced 4 times. This time, I have an issue with the storage built into the datacard. So I am unable to install the BSNL 3G application.

Is it possible for someone to upload the software for me please? It will be of a great help!

Thanks in advance.
