Troubleshooting in T mobile in connecting 3g in laptop using HUAWEI UMG 1831 Posted: 15 Jan 2011 02:23 AM PST thanks for your help, I appreciate it. I formatted the XP drive and reinstalled XP on it. The card got detected this time and installed the software. I am able to connect using T-mobile software but now the problem is that the connection doesn't stay on as long as I want it to. After an hour or so speeds drop to 0 and my downloads get interrupted/corrupted. With the wired broadband I used to leave the PC on and it would keep downloading my stuff but here with 3G how do I automate the connection to reconnect when speed is 0? Is there a fix? I'm on Windows 7 now but I can boot into XP safely only after I finish my important work and need the speed. The XP needs to download SP3 and all the windows updates and I have to install s/w. after the format. I'm not doing it because of this problem of speeds dropping to zero after an hour or so of getting connected. This requires me to constantly keep sitting and staring at the PC, windows updates will take 500 odd MB, I'm sure or more. The XP Professional is a legit one while this windows 7 is a trial/evaluation. Has someone faced the same problem and figured it out? Please share your wisdom, then. Regarding what went wrong in the problem earlier of XP not installing the datacard I'm assuming it could be because of the dial-up modem plugged into my PCI slot which I haven't used in years. It could be some COM port conflict which I'm not techie enough to identify. I'd totally forgotten about the internal PCI modem and it never struck me or the guy who came to help me(the one I bought the datacard from and got my 3G connection too) to check for COM port sharing conflicts. Thank-you for the link to the older version of the software. I will install mobile partner after I get a little confident about my new 3G setup as it seems to be more popular with the 3G crowd than T-mobile, :)
Posted: 15 Jan 2011 02:22 AM PST Australian Open 2011 - 16th January to 30 January Nadal is chasing 4 grand slam titles in a row. i.e hold all 4 slams at the same time! He is the person who denied Federer the same record 3 times by defeating him in french open. Federer is in form, winning 3 ATP titles in a row. So can Federer take the revenge this time by denying Nadal to win Australian open? So who will it be Federer, Nadal or someone else? Day 1 matches: (16th Jan) Federer v/s Lacko Djokovic v/s Marcel

Not Able to access few websites Posted: 15 Jan 2011 01:38 AM PST Hello folks, I'm using Huawei UMG 1831, got it today only after reading many reviews here. I have connected it using BSNL 2G SIM and getting around 35 kb/s download speed. Earlier I used to connect with NOKIA 6233 and selecting UMTS mode. I used to get fair speeds as compared to GSM mode. Then I got to know if I use it in DATA CARD, I may getter better speed and can also free my phone for other use. Now, the problem is as soon as I received the Data Card, I installed it, created profile, selected WCDMA mode. I was able to access all the websites..But now I'm not able to connect to many of them. Like - Gmail , speedtest and even facebook :frown: I didn't face any problem like this before when I used to connect via phone. Please help as I don't want my 3000 bucks should go in vain. I'm waiting for the techies to respond as I'm naive in technical stuff. Regards, Akash

Is it worth migrating to Reliance Wireline Broadband? - A fed up Airtel Broadband user Posted: 15 Jan 2011 12:25 AM PST ^^^^ U need to post this thing in an Airtel broadband thread.....coz u may find many more people who would be fed up!! Btw, for MTNL - just ensure that the CC of ur area is decent enough....coz it gets really annoying if u are facing any issues, and they just call u up & say 1 stereotyped dialogue - "Everything is fine on our side, there appears to be a fault in the line - we will send our linemen to rectify that".... And then the lineman never turns up!! See, i had this problem, many others wont be having - MTNL's CC is purely area-based.....somewhere its decent, and somewhere pathetic. In short - just enquire with other users first!!
