TRAI to come out with recommendations on National BroadBand Plan

Posted: 11 Dec 2010 03:17 AM PST

Price will automatically come down as broadband penetration increases and more and more people opt for broadband. In near future, ADSL wired connection will be like land line. Even these days, people are using mobile phone to access net and people will go for mobile and wireless connections.

Realign Yourself.Dont depend distributors/CC

Posted: 11 Dec 2010 03:01 AM PST

Hi friends try to realign Sun Direct yourself. To do this refer old posts.Don't blame others for not doing this.

Same experience also happened for me.I called CC for more than 3 months to do that for free and still no response.I finally called a local technician. He asked me a 200 Rs.My STB is OPENTECH with out green button enabled.Since it not downloaded new software he told me to send it to service center and also said it will take 10 days.

Before 15 days i took my STB directly to my dealer and i got my STB Updated. They have that facility. And i adjusted dish myself. Now i am watching all the channels from then.

I am not telling that it will be our duty.Sun Direct should have to do this for free but they did not making right things.Remember one thing this blackout was not a fault from SD side, the whole was due to a satellite failure. If you dont want to loose your money then you have to act quick or else you have more money then you throw the box and buy another:happy::happy::happy::happy:.

Clearly you have not read this plan.

Unfortunately, it pins much of India's broadband-fix on 3G, and in metro on building a government owned FTTH network everywhere.

The problem with this is that it still needs to be built, and the government still needs to mandate all of the things outlined here
Yes I have not read much since the detailed plan has not been made public. But I think the main reason NBP was made was because TRAI knows that wireless broadband cannot support the huge population of the country. Plus with A Raja gone, things might move faster. Here is the official document. http://www.trai.gov.in/WriteReadData...ndiv8dec10.pdf

There are already 9 submarine cables going in and out of India, 3 of which have been opened in the last 18 months. Since VSNL owns all the landing stations, this may be somewhat problematic, even if it will be Pacnet's own gateway.
Actually Bharti and Reliance also own some landing stations. Their cables have high charges and are underutilised with the arrival of Pacnet with its own landing station things might change and wholesale prices might drop.

we're not charging exhorbatent rates for data (less than Rs15/GB) and our flat-rate plans are very well priced considering the speeds we're offering. If you don't think so, I challenge you to find me a regular tariff that beats us GB for GB or mbit for mbit.
I have no doubt that your rates are very reasonable. I am just saying that in a couple of years things might change substantially.
