it happens very often to me too.. happens usually when i'm downloading using accelerators.. but not during normal browsing.. don't bother.. you can set your dialer to redial automatically when the connection drops..

by the way.. i had tried the hotfix but didn't work for me.. looks like BSNL purposely disconnects it.. :(

Your line stats are horrible. Also the data rate they have synced you to is also low. Get on the phone and kick some butt.

Wanted The spicosed of season 5 ( aired till date) of House MD, Dexter from last season, Big Bang theory from New season as of 11th Nov 2010, Will be paying for the DVD's. Please contact via sending message in inbox. I dont have time to download em or go watch them on net with India speeds.

Cant beleive you are worrying about the hardware or migration cost.
Getting a New DTH is cheaper than recharging for an year in many DTH operators like Airtel.
Good advice but not executable. Only TS customers have the option to migrate. Non TS customers can only throw dirt.

you have to be on a service provider for at least six months before you can switch to another.

Mobile SIM can be used in Data Card?

You would almost always carry your phone rather than your data card.

After recharging with 4200/-, i thought of buying a data card, but did not due to below reasons.
1> Most data cards available on the market support max 7.2 or 3.6 Mbps speeds. Huawei E series are amongst the best. I have heard about issues with Micromax and Terracom linktop.

2> On the contrary, 3G mobiles (I use a Nokia E52) supports HSDPA@10.2 Mbps. I might not get these speeds now, but no harm having one ready :-)

I recharged on the 04-Nov, today its 11-Nov. Have downloaded 19GB in 6 days, all through my E52. Mobile was tethered to the laptop with data cable via ovi suite. Never once did the phone heat up to an extent that could be noticed.

Interesting observation- I also checked with a data card, but the speeds i got while using the mobile was approx 10% higher.

For folks who hate cables, try out Joiku Spot light/premium- this is turns your phone to a full fledged Wireless router..!!

250ms+ Ping on Indian Servers (Counter Strike 1.6)

I am getting 250ms+ ping in counter strike's indian server. The ping almost equals to my ping on russian, poland, etc. servers [Note : The IP address of the BSNL default gateway was 117.197.48.1]. One day i found that my ping on Indian Servers went down to almost near 60ms and the default gateway was still the same. But after 2-3 days my ping changed back to as it was earlier, after a sudden internet connection disrupt (for a few secs).
I use the BB Home Combo UL 750 Plan. My router is ITI DNA A211-1. I am from lucknow.

***It happens VERY RARELY that my router connects to 117.197.40.1 gateway which gives me much less ping (near 50ms)****
