Site redirects to "searchportal.information.com" Posted: 13 Oct 2010 02:32 AM PDT I have done this change to my DNS setting in WA3002G4 modem admin page. Advance Setup - DNS - unchecked Enable Automatic Assigned DNS Typed following DNS: Primary: 208.67.222.222 Secondary: 8.8.8.8 Primary belongs to OpenDNS and Secondary belongs to GoogleDNS. I feel these are Far Far Far superior than BSNL DNS :) You may try the above and check if it resolves your problem. But for your problem of "searchportal.information.com", I suspect some Trojan/Malware is infected in your system. Hope you are using good anti-virus. If all browsers are behaving same, means the malware might have written something in your Windows Registry!!!

I Hate The (*) Terms And Condition Applied. Posted: 13 Oct 2010 02:02 AM PDT Mostly, there is vital information hidden behind the * symbol it may be crucial in terms of cost, days and other such core information that is often overlooked as we get carried away by the ad. Reading entire details maybe a tardy activity thats where offers take such advantage and cipher hidden costs. For example Dish tv Super Sports offer: Pay Rs. 1390 and get 2 Months subscription of Gold Pack + 2 Months Colors ala-carte doesn't mention about installation charges which is mentioned in the details of the T & C: Super Sports Offer Terms and Conditions *Installation charges of Rs. 200+ST extra.Channel count includes audio/video/ active services and DD direct channels. DD direct channels availability rests with DD Direct. The offer prices are inclusive of taxes, applicable octroi extra. Offer is valid across India. The offer prices include 3 years rent of CPE. After completion of the initial subscription period, the subscriber will have to opt for prevailing packages at the prevailing rates. After 3 years, rental @ Re 1/- per year shall be payable. In 1590-3 M Gold Offer, after completion of the initial subscription period "colorful" shall be available on paid basis unless opted out by the subscriber while "UTV Pack" and "Biz World" shall be withdrawn unless opted in by the subscriber. In 1390-2 M Gold Offer, after completion of the initial subscription period "colorful" shall be available on paid basis unless opted out by the subscriber. The subscriber may thereafter opt the said packs at prevailing rates. Limited period offers. Scheme and conditions thereof can be changed at the sole discretion of the Company. Composition of the channels in the packs and the rates thereof are subject to change.
Buying a Tata Sky is a huge mistake. We all regret buying Tata Sky !!!!!! Posted: 13 Oct 2010 01:58 AM PDT I am agreed with you. I am a Tata Sky customer since its launch. At that time I spend nearly 5K for tata sky hardware. I am not satisfied with number of Malayalam channels (only 7 :madness:) available in tata sky. This 5K is the reason for me to continue with tata sky (or atleast in deactivated condition ).
Tatasky has highest revenues and ARPUs because of very costly service !! Posted: 13 Oct 2010 01:44 AM PDT I do understand that they are not here for charity work. But other DTH companies think of profit as well as customer satisfaction. While Tata Sky thinks of profit only. When I was in Michigan, I found that people over there were so aware about their rights that no subscriber like you supported unfair service of DTH. :madness:

Laptop repairing in Gurgaon region? Posted: 13 Oct 2010 12:45 AM PDT My Dell Inspiron 1520 had a three year long warranty that sadly expired last month. I have not used it for a while and looks like it suffered some damage during the idle period. The display has gone all wonky. I believe the LCD Panel is fine but there are some wiring issues leading to messed up display. Anyways, I need to know if there is any reliable laptop repairing guy/shop based in Gurgaon. I would of course try to get a quote from Dell but I bet that amount is going to be pretty obscene. For now, I am using an external LCD. One of my old Dell LCDs have seen a major fire... It is slightly damaged but it still works decently.

Beetel 450 TC1 and BSNL Broadband wifi problem. Posted: 13 Oct 2010 12:19 AM PDT Hi all, I tried searching for the solution but am unsuccessful so here's my query. I got this ADSL + Wifi Router by Beetel supposed to be for Airtel but am using it with my BSNL connection. Have all the settings in place. Deleted the original 0/35 and created new one according to the guides available on the net. It works flawlessly using wired ethernet. The default connection it uses is named MGMNT. When I try to connect using Wifi, it presents me with two access points named MGMNT and Airtel. While I find no way to connect to 'Airtel', I can connect to MGMNT using '0987654321' as password. But even then there is no internet available. What am I doing wrong? Please enlighten I will really appreciate. Thanks.
