2010: Formula 1 singtel singapore grand prix

Posted: 20 Sep 2010 02:43 AM PDT

Formula 1 is back in Singapore for a spectacular Night Race...Just 21 points are separting the top 5 championship contenders......Intersting fact about the race: 1st race was on by Alonso (Controversely) and in the same race Hamilton came third, lst year hamilton won the race and Alonso came 3rd.....worst thing for MArk Webber is that he did not even finish Singapore GP once........

Looking at the race in my opinion RBR and McLaren will be the team to beat and more importantly i predicting Hamilton to win......It would great to see Alonso in Podium.....

Tata Indicom Broadband 2 have been stopped for Resindential Customers

Posted: 20 Sep 2010 02:43 AM PDT

I too enquired about Tata Wimax. The same answer was given to me without mention about business or residential.

BTW, I am using Tata Indicome Broadband 2.0 in Pune as a residential connection, don't know may be they have included me as in a business connection category. I have this connection for the last 4-5 years. :)

Can you suggest provider. Make its unlimited under 3000 rs.

There are a number of issues here:
1. You can barely find a 1mbit/s DOWNLOAD plan without an FUP, let alone at under Rs3000.
2. MTNL can also theoretically do this - you have to apply to get more upload speed in 256kbit/s increments, but whether you get up to 1mbit/s upload is not very likely. To get 1mbit/s upload you will need at least ADSL2+, which pretty much restricts you to one of Airtel's high-speed lines but these are way more than Rs3000 and aren't unlimited and also aren't available in most of the country (excepting Delhi and a few other major centres).
3. It might help to know your location:
*If you're in Hyderabad, I think Beam Telecom can provide you with this speed but I would suggest reading the Beam Telecom thread.
*If you're in Mumbai, we could provide this when we launch (our 5mbit/s flat-rate plan would offer 2.5mbit/s upload): is the connection for a residence or a business?
4. Some cable providers may be able to offer such speeds but varies widely by provider, and for this definitely would need to know where you are.
5. Your next option would be to put a box in a data-centre but this unfortunately costs far more than Rs3000.

Any other information would be helpful.

Airtel Broadband Turbo 1299 speed upgraded? Fair usage policy?

Posted: 20 Sep 2010 02:27 AM PDT

Lucky you! I'm told that I'll get 1Mbps day and night for 25GB and after that it will be 512Kbps. I haven't crossed the limit, so can't check whether it's really 25GB or 100GB as of now. But, customer care never mention 100GB. And I keep stressing, with no luck, the fact that I cannot accept 25GB. Even if it happens to be 100GB at backend, I cannot accept when they are officially saying that it's 25GB.

Ofcourse, I've also been told by one customer care person that I'll get 256Kbps after crossing FUP limit.

They are themselves not clear what they are offering.

So why one should go for BSNL.

i took bsnl wimax on rental basis 2000 deposit and 999rs for 2mbps unlimited plan, and 50rs for CPE. its a good deal.
yours is only 256kbps.

Broadband very slow

Posted: 20 Sep 2010 01:01 AM PDT

1. BSNL speed test is not reliable. Go to speedtest.net, perform a speed test and post the forum link here.

2. Portforwarding helps you allow connections to your torrent client and hence improves the torrent speed. Post a screen shot of your torrent client.

3. Disable your firewall/antivirus and check.

4. Tried TCP/IP optimizer ?
