ACT Broadband rethink Posted: 26 Apr 2014 02:49 AM PDT Hi guys,   I had heard some great reviews from my friends about ACT broadband, so I had almost decided to switch to ACT ( was about cancel my existing service). But after reading the reviews here and elsewhere I must rethink.I live in Girinagar,Bangalore . My existing connection is slow but atleast its reliable , what I dont want is fast connection which is not reliable. From the reviews read it appears that this is what ACT gives, which is a deal breaker for me.  And apparently the speeds of websites hosted outside india are pretty bad ...so mostly I have to rethink for sure .

Posted: 26 Apr 2014 01:15 AM PDT http://madmanweb.com/2011/08/30/airtel-announces-new-gold-and-platinum-support-plans-for-customers/   So i am a platinum cusotmer and was searching the prerequisites to be a solitaire customer.   I checked the website above i get this   "Mittal announced the launch of the new "f**k this, I just want to speak to a human being" option for telephone support. At an extra cost of Rs. 29 per incident, all customers can now press 9 to bypass the numerous options and be connected to a live human being who would be able to help them. The reduced time on hold once connected, however, would only be available to Gold and Platinum customers."     Is this for real. Can anyone confirm this. How can a CEO say this?

Today I saw this popup on the side when I connected online (I removed my telephone number from the image):     After looking for the inserted code, I discovered that MTNL is inserting iframes inside the webpages!   The popup is being loaded from http://www.adphonso.com/testmtnl.php?CSID=22221504@mtnl   (I changed the telephone number in the URL above) More scrips are inserted from MTNL address 203.94.243.40   The adphonso website belongs to an adversiting company and that is a big problem     Are you guys seeing this sort of popups too? If yes, do you think is it safe?   I think this way inserting codes inside webpages is not good for the privacy of users.

Trying to configure internet on D-Link 2750U ADSL2+ router Posted: 25 Apr 2014 10:46 PM PDT Hi, I am trying to configure my Tata Indicom DSL connection on a D-Link 2570U wireless router and each time the internet LED is "red". I have followed all the instructions from the Internet setup wizard, Tata technical support and D-Link technical support and the internet LED on the router is still red. I have reset the Tata indicom DSL password and it works just fine with the modem(ZyXel P-660R-T1) given by Tata but does not work with D-Link. I have done the factory reset a few times on the D-Link router and tried to configure the internet again and the LED is still red. As per the D-Link manual and Technical support when the internet LED is red it means it is not able to authenticate the user name and password. Further the D-Link tech also created a Bridged connection and the Tata user name and password that I setup did not work. I have not tried to setup a Bridge connection the Tata modem yet. Now I not sure, if it is an issue with Tata or D-Link. My Tata Indicom username is prefixed with a @ttml, can this cause a problem with the D-Link router. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Buying and Selling products through OLX Posted: 25 Apr 2014 10:16 PM PDT I am giving it a second try. I listed my 2012 Google Nexus 7 3G 2 days ago. Just got one query. But as expected, it was quite absurd. He wants me to drop the price 40%. Claims to have Google as his client. Says Google is offering him the 2013 edition of the 3G variant for Rs. 18000 (US price is going to be above Rs. 22000). It's fun. I told him to get it because it is an excellent deal. He said he is planning on getting that but wanted a backup device for testing. I am assuming he is an Android developer and if he is right, Google seems to be offering the new model at pretty amazing prices to developers here in India even before it is launched in the US market.    Listed two more products for variety. I know people here have had much success with OLX. Share your stories!

Headphones Posted: 25 Apr 2014 12:48 PM PDT For myself. Budget? Flexible. Anything below 5K would be fine. Requirement? Wireless possible? Because I still work on a desktop. It does not have Bluetooth though. If not wireless, need a long wire. 2 meters probably would be fine. To be used for watching movies, television shows mostly. Would be nice if they can remove the noise around me. The problem is quite massive. I live in the corner house which means that there is a road besides the windows and f**king dogs keep on crying and barking all night long. And of course there is enough noise during the day time because of traffic. Would prefer headphones coz do not like earphones much. Headphones with microphone would also be very nice because it would help in Hangouts. PS. I think I started a similar thread in the past but I did not bother to order. This time I think I really should get something for backup.
