Suggestions for Split AC - 1 Ton - 5 Star Rating

The title says it all.  Max budget is 35k.  5 star rating is essential.  Usage is very less, mostly 3 - 4 hrs a day.

 

I have shortlisted Voltas.  Anyone having Voltas please share your experience.  Any better suggestions welcome.

PC/Laptop Recommendation for Parents

I need to buy a laptop(preferred)/desktop for parents. They are not very well versed with computers and plan to use it for Skype and basic web browsing.

 

I believe a laptop from a Brand which has good service and maximum extended warranty is the best option. Need your opinion on this. Or would a locally assembled desktop be a better option?

 

Please suggest models and brands that provide acceptable to good service levels.

Windows XP does not boot normally

Dear Friends,

 

I have an old Toshiba laptop. 6 years old to be precise although it has ben working fine with Lubuntu on it. Here is my laptop.

I have managed to install Win XP Pro on it with all the drivers, but it does not boot normally instead whenever it boots it gives me many options just like the ones shown in link below. I have to choose Start Windows Normally each time I boot my laptop, which was never the case earlier. Please help me. Thanks

HBO have launched an SVOD service and this will be exclusively available for Tata Sky users who have subscribed to HBO channels (HBO Hits and HBO Defined). This is a win-win move as it powers up Tata Sky's VoD service and gives us more control over what we would like to watch and when we would like to watch, that too ad-free. Also, HBO on Demand comes in at no extra cost. For now they have listed all seasons of Game of Thrones, True Detective and Banshee. This just saved my nights of searching for torrents to download my favourite HBO series. Great move, I am definitely going to download the entire season of game of thrones.

Reliance ip problem(no connectivity)

am having a weird issue with reliance broadband.whenever my pluggin my ethernet it shows a computer sign with yellow triangle with no internet connectivity.
after i procced to do microsoft inbulit network diagnose,it shows me the problem
"Local area connection doesnt have a valid ip configuration"

in network connection detail my pc doesnt gets
ipv4 default gateway ip
and dns server ip

i have to do diagonose atleast 20 time to solve the problem.sometime even wont that solve it
after complaining many time to the network engineer he installed a 'managed switch' nearby and had broadband wire replaced till the switch

weird enough my neighbour is getting connectivity from switch(he has router installed), am not even when directly connected to the switch.(getting same problem)>
cant go to my neighbour since not on talking terms.
my desktop and lappy is getting same problem with reliance

cant figure the problem

'Extreme Peering' causing severe issues on Metronet

I use Metronet in Bangalore. Since more than a month, I was facing severe problems when downloading from torrents using public trackers. Most of them never even started downloading, and also no torrent ever connected to seeds. They only downloaded from peers. But there was no problem at all with private trackers. I also noticed that torrents on public tracker sites had these weird red and green dots next to them. When I hovered my mouse over the, they used to show 'Extreme peering'. I was only able to download torrents with a green dot next to them.

 

After trying out various options and when I was about to give up, I realized that the culprit was this 'Extreme Peering' (http://extremepeering.net/). Its a service which claims to speed up downloads with local peers and seeds. My ISP (Metronet) has started using this. But the problem is, due to this stupid Extreme Peering, the torrent starts downloading ONLY if it has local seeds (i don't know if it determines 'local' as within my city or country). If not, then it never starts, or else gets stuck after a while. I called MetroNet customer care, but they're totally unaware of it. Is there any way I can get rid of this idiotic 'Extreme peering'? If not, is it possible to actually trick these torrent sites (maybe by usinga  proxy server) so that this 'Extreme Peering' is bypassed? Please help me out. Thank you.
