The traditional Boxing Day Test returns to South African shores for the 2013-14 season with India scheduled to play the first of three Tests in the home summer. CSA cancelled the fixture last season and opted to play three T20s against New Zealand over the festive period instead in the hope of attracting bigger in-stadium audiences. Although the matches were sell-outs, there was a public outcry about the lack of a Test match and with India visiting this season, the administrators have reinstalled the fixture and handed it back to its usual home, Kingsmead in Durban.

So i visited today BSNL office and they were ready to provide me the evdo but they said that only Micromax data card is available, no prithvi or zte. But i have heard that Micromax-bsnl data card is not that good and has speed issues. I met one guy outside the office who claimed to be a distributor or something and he told me that there's a plan on zte modem costing me 4.5k total but the advantage will be that the unlimited plan comes with it is @Rs. 290 per month. And he was pretty sure that it was not wimax but an evdo connection. I told him i haven't heard any such plan nor it is on bsnl portal but he assured me that it exists and he will make sure that the bsnl officer in charge will give a personal guarantee to it. I am so confused now. Is that zte offer TRUE and also plz tell me is it ok if i go with Micromax modem. Location : patna

Upgrade from Nokia 101

So a few months ago, I got my mom a Nokia 101 because I wanted to buy that phone for the lulz.

Now my cook wants to send a phone to his home in Nepal. I have two options… Buy a cheapo Nokia for him or give him mom's Nokia 101.

Was considering doing the latter. Thinking of getting a better phone for mom. She is not really a mobile user. But she needs a phone for when she goes out alone (market etc.).
Suggestions?

Requirement…

Long battery life (she is used to battery life of 101 which lasts for like forever)
Featurephone (for obvious reasons)

I would prefer a Nokia model.

I have Siti cable broadband. It is only a 512 kbps plan, though when I download torrents, I get a speed of 15-30 mbps. Sometimes, 50 mbps. How is it possible?

 

a) Is this only for promotion? 

 

B) Why this is happening?

 

c) Will the speed lower down if more people subscribes to this broadband service?

Hi All,

 

Since yesterday the digital set top box (Cisco 3410 DVB) is rebooting automatically after 10-15 minutes of normal operation. Subscription is with Asianet Digital. It is like turning on the TV. For 10-15 minutes, there is no issues. After that the set top box light goes off, in few seconds powers up again into red. And in few other seconds into green. Picture comes in. Power goes again. This cycle is going on. Confirmed that the neighbours are not facing similar issues which concludes that the signalling is not the culprit. Anyone faced this issue? Any options to do a hard reset the box.??

On Tuesday, the Delhi Metro, stepped into the 12th year of its operation.

"Delhi Metro, which became operational on December 24, 2002, has grown from a network of six stations and four trains that covered 775 km on Day 1 to 145 stations with 208 trains that cover a distance of almost 70,000 km daily," Anuj Dayal, the executive director for Corporate Communications at Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), said.

And this year, the service recorded its highest ever ridership on August 19 at 26,06,364.
