| Got a nextra ftth connection...major issue Posted: 01 Oct 2013 02:10 AM PDT Hi all .. so i got a nextra 10mbps connection yesterday as the fiber was already connected right into my new home and seriously needed to give airtel the boot. Speeds are amazing, pings are just the same as airtel for anyone interested, but yeah browsing is noticeably quicker than airtel 4mbps. However, a major issue is that many times trying to open a webpage only ends up showing a blank page, like the connection was being broken immediately as soon as i hit enter. No error mesgs, just a blank page. The irritating issue shows up in all my devices and irrespective of the browser or DNS server used. It has never happened with airtel or any isp i have ever used. I have contacted the tech exec who installed the connection and he is assuring me of a solution in a day, so meanwhile i have posted here to know maybe someone else is in the same boat as me on any isp...maybe even troubleshoot but i doubt there's anything left that i haven't done. I am having BSNL Dataone [phone line dead since last 5 months  ] and Tataphoton+.As my BSNL line is dead since last 5 months and N number rounds and complaint to BSNL didnt prove positive and I think Tataphoton+ is expensive for a user lke me who does more downloads. So I want to move to some other ISP. I tried calling many ISPs, some are costly and some doesn't have feasibility in my lane/ area I reside in though its available some 100s of meters aways. People from Reliance, Spectranet, Railwire did come to my house to check the feasibility, but Reliance completely denied pulling a line though there junction box is very near compared to other ISPs. Spectranet and Railwire both say the service is available in my area but it will take some more time to pull a line to my street, they have asked few more weeks of time from me, but they are not guaranteeing me about pulling the line. Today one of my friend gave me a pamphlet Ad about company called AirWire. I am hearing the company name for the 1st time. I did a search and found a url which shows the content of Airwire, though the domain name points to justdialboadband.com ( http://www.justdialbroadband.com/ ). I called the number provided in the pamphlet. He too said he will come to my home today evening will check for the feasibility in my street though its present in my locality. I request people to give there review if they have come across this service provider called AirWire. Requesting Admin to create a seperate section for Airwire if Airwire is a Service provider. I think they should have added support for 8" devices so that the recently launched Note 8.0 would have worked with this! |

Tikona is becoming atrocious day by day. From 29th September my speed has gone down to 800kbps and below. I raised a ticket with technical support and today I called technical support again and was advised my plan was in secondary phase as I have used my FUP. My billing date is 15th of every month, which means from 15th Sep till 01st October when I checked I have only used 25gb where in my FUP is 50GB. Technical rep said I am on secondary plan and transferred my call to customer care.
Customer care rep said I have used 80gb I said what dates is she looking at then she said from 15th Aug! I said then she is looking at 2months data and still I should get 20gb for 2months 100gb. Then she checked again and said from 15th September till now I have only used 25gb and I am not in secondary phase so its technical issue and will transfer me over to technical support and tehcnical support back to customer care saying i am in secondary phase.
Can someone fix this issue. It's been nightmares since the time I have opted for Tikona Digital Networks. It seems like I have opted for Tikona Analog and not Digital networks!!! |

though people suggest using google DNS (8.8.8.8) and 8.8.8.4(often dead on mtnl net ) .
if u try pinging them both seperately u will see that both take equal time

While using its internet, can a landline phone be simultaneously used for calling (in different room, i.e. different RJ11 socket)? -without affecting internet and call. When I connect my devices with the adsl modem directly, everything is working fine. but when I connect the modem to mylinksys router and connect through it, I am facing problem only while downloading & streaming content. Note that all browsing is working perfectly fine - but just when I try to download or stream, the speed is dropping to 0.
I tried setting the linksys router to PPPoE mode also (instead of default DHCP) - with resetting modem settings to default, but it still doesn't solve the problem. I am pretty sure that router is working correctly because I am still able to browser any website any time without issue. Is there any setup which I am missing for router to work with docomo connection. Anybody faced such a strange issue earlier?
