Static IP improves service drastically

From past few days my service was just pathetic. i am having a 2mbps unlimited plan on which download speed was 2mbps but the upload speed was around 400kbps. There were issues of packet drop and high pings. So a guy from tikona suggested me that i should take the static IP service and there will be huge change in your service. And guess what he was correct.

 

Benifits

1. No login page ever.

2. Connect as many PC with your Wifi router.

3. download speed of 3.5 mbps

4. upload speed of 2mbps

5. super low pings.

6. no packet drop.

 

Drawbacks

1. you will have to shell out Rs1500 a year.

Any full talk time from BSNL Prepaid for Punjab ?

I'm looking for a good router + modem for mtnl mumbai and if it is compatible with windows 8 would me nice

I don't want any D-Link, I had a dlink 2750U and it just worked for 2 months.It would even heat up alot, it also kept re syncing the adsl ( not a wire problem I called mtnl like 5 times to check the wire) even the range of the wifi was horrible

When would MTNL launch new Broadband Plans?

Its being more than 2 years since the plan was announced for 2+Mbps i was hoping they would drop there prices for 2Mbps this diwali but they came up with some pathetic plans for 1Mbps

ULD950 (4MBPS) plan but speed is only 3~3.5mbps

Hello all,
I have changed by plan from ULD800 to ULD950 about 2 months ago.
The BSNL people changed my plan within 1 week.
I started getting speed about 3.33 MBps.
The download speed was about 380kB/s.

Correct me if I am wrong,
But I think I should be getting a speed of about 4MBps
and a download speed of about ~500kB/s.
WHICH DOES NOT HAPPEN!!

Internet disconnects frequently

Hi,

 

My internet connection disconnects frequently. Adsl light on modem goes off & on after certain amount of time. I have Dlink GLB 502T modem which has inbuilt splitter.

One thing to mention here is if I put off the reciever of my landline telephone intenet connection lasts longer.

Besides , there are several joints to our telephone cable.

What could be the possible reason behind frequent disconnections.

Activating MTNL Delhi 3G?

After getting the MTNL SIM and activating it, how do I activate the 3G data connection? Also, how do I check if I have any free data with the new connection? *444# only gives balance and validity. Also tried 112 and 234 but nothing. Sending enqfree to 444 gives Invalid Request.

Any ideas?

BSNL Broadband routing problem seems to have been resolved

My issue in the trail mail is still not resolved and also for this month i have been charged more for the calls which we have never done , My connection number is :- 011 - 45710961 

And i person calls me and tells me that nothing is possible for the resolution of the complaint and then dissconnects the call and then sends a email that issue is done with our end.---WHAT ALL IS THIS HAPPENING.

kindly resolve the issue IN 1 DAY or

DISSCONNECT MY CONNECTION FROM TOMM.

The bill amount is not correct - i have also checked the same. And wrong bills is coming for many months and i had trust in airtel and i was not seeing the bills  .

Hello friends, I could see massive optic fibre laying in various parts of country. I had seen conduits of various colours laying in Bangalore, Delhi and varanasi. Dont know about other places, can you guys confirm this. I had seen cable laying in as remote places of saarnath temple, Ganga ghat in banaras. Finished first season. It reminds me of two shows... First Collar on how it is presented. Mad Men because the character of Harvey Specter is so freaking similar to Don Draper.

The problem is that Specter is like 5% of what Draper is. It just does not feel solid enough. When Draper talks, you listen. When Specter talks, you hope that he would say something that would impress you. Sadly, it does not happen very often.

Frequent Disconnection / ADSL blinking Issue on MTNL Broadband

Hi,

I am a user of 849NU plan of MTNL Triband service since August based out of Navi Mumbai.

All of August, i was very happy to have a lovely connection and good speeds, with a pretty good tariff.
But now since the past 15 days I am suffering from very intermittent net connection.
Although I am connected to the internet, sometimes the webpages take ages to open, and never open, while at other times it opens instantly. Also downloading has the same pattern, sometimes I get very good speeds of upto 200 Kbps, while other times there is no download. Although all download sites show good Triband Speed, but it is the intermittent connection that is the problem.
This problem has crept up in the last 15 odd days, and I have tried everything but no change has been noticed.

Has anyone else faced a similar problem, and if yes, whats the work around. The people at MTNL classify this as a slow connection problem, but that is exactly not the issue, as I do get good speeds intermittently.

Somebody please help me.

I'm getting very poor network on my Airtel prepaid. Is there any better service provider which provides good network in Delhi?
