Truecaller database Hacked Posted: 19 Jul 2013 01:56 AM PDT Syrian Electronic Army hacks into Truecaller database.     Truecaller has officially confirmed that it was hacked.     Truecaller, a collaborative phone directory that uses crowdsourcing to build its database, has allegedly been hacked into by a group that calls itself the Syrian Electronic Army (SEA). The group of hackers claimed to have access to more than a million Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google      and Yahoo accounts that are linked to the Truecaller service. "Sorry @Truecaller, we needed your database, thank you for it  ," read the group's post on the microblogging website. The SEA's website also declared that the over 600GB of hacked data had been sent to the Syrian government.   Founded in 2009, Sweden-based Truecaller is available on the web and as an app for the iPhone, Android, Blackberry, Symbian and Windows phones. The service works by collecting contact information stored in the users' phones or on their social networking profiles.   The SEA claims to have defaced or compromised several websites in the past — their most highlighted work arguably being the attack on the Associated Press news agency. On April 23, 2013, the group had tweeted from the wire service's account that the White House was attacked and that President Barack Obama had been injured.   If the latest claim made by the SEA is to be believed, users from countries such as China, Turkey and Hong Kong are among those hit by the 'hack-attack'. The group posted a screenshot on its Twitter account showing contact details of users from these countries, 15 hours after the first post related to the Truecaller attack was made.

However, after disconnection they have shown me the colors which I have never imagined of them. This is the worst customer experience I have been offered by RCOM since its inception in Delhi.   Poor Handling of customers by current RCOM team. I have called all the customer care numbers, written e-mails to Reliance broadband and reliance customer care but no relief only painful days to get my hard earned cash back.   My plight is given below   Date:   Saturday, May 04, 2013  01:48 PM To:   customercare@relianceada.com (customercare@relianceada.com) Subject:  Refund of Amount in respect of User ID No. 360198175753 in the name of VED PRAKASH   After that your representative came to my premises and took away the equipments installed at my house and given slip for this and told us that we will get the refund within 45 days. I have disconnected the reliance broadband connection in the month of March (12-3-2013) due to problems in the internet services provided by RCOM under WIMAX (no signals).      However even aftery expiry of 60 days period i have not received my refund amount. Speculation: Reliance might take over BSNL soon Posted: 18 Jul 2013 11:22 PM PDT My dad went to the BSNL office today and spoke to some of the senior management there. One of the senior most officers who manages the BSNL Broadband section in the exchange told me and my dad that BSNL might soon be sold over to Reliance as per their internal reports. They were also worried that there might be many job cuts after the take over. I have not found it anywhere else but he seemed to be mentioning it seriously. So, not sure where he came to know about it but he is the top officer in broadband section in our exchange. So, I am not sure why he would tell a lie. I am not sure which Ambani/Reliance he was saying i.e. Anil or Mukesh but it might be interesting if it really happens. Hmmmm. Anybody else got the news?

BSNL Broadband Tariff Hike Details Posted: 18 Jul 2013 11:19 PM PDT BSNL to modify its tarrif plans for Unlimited Broadband New Delhi: Telecom Company, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has decided to modify and boost the prices of its ADSL Postpaid Unlimited Broadband Plans for its existing and new customers, which the pan-India operator offers to its users and the change will come into effect from March 1st, 2013. The expected price hike of the Unlimited plans will start from Rs 25 and a maximum of Rs750. For example, the BB Home ULD 499 plan which costed Rs.499 will now cost Rs 525 to the users while the BB Home ULD 750 plan which costed Rs.750 until now, has seen an increase of Rs 50 and will now cost Rs 800. To all the users, who have been using the BBG Combo ULD 2150 plan, you will now have to pay an extra of Rs 100 and pay Rs 2250 per month while the BB Combo ULD 3300 has seen an increase of Rs 200 in the price and will now cost Rs 3500. Can't Configure my Router to work with bsnl wimax Posted: 18 Jul 2013 11:17 PM PDT Hi !! I can't configure my router to work. I can't use the router default gateway 192.168.1.1 to configure the router when it is connected to the internet, as the ip is used by BSNL Wimax Interface. I finally managed to configure the default gateway to 192.168.1.2 but the internet refused to work i can't connect to the Internet. So, i reseted the router to make it work again. Please help !!

Laser operation for eye Posted: 18 Jul 2013 08:14 PM PDT Hi   I need to know the following regarding laser operation for eyes   Is it 100% safe or does it have 0.01% of risk? what is the cost in India (Delhi to be precise)? What precautions does one have to follow after a laser eye operation? Once done, will it not require to put eyeglasses or contact lense for their entire life? If yes then under what circumstances? Is it painful? How long the operation last? Is there any limit? for eg. laser operations cannot be done for someone who has -x / +x power Any other info / fact you wanna share?   I know i can go around and read articles on the internet regaring laser operations but i'd like to hear from someone who has actually done it or knows someone who has done it.   Thanks in advance for your replies.

IPad 4 WiFi Connection Drops After Inactivity Posted: 18 Jul 2013 04:56 PM PDT I have recently purchased a new IPad 4, and this is driving me crazy. After not using the wifi for a while, on waking the ipad up from sleep mode, I cannot connect to the Internet. The wifi is still connected, the icon still shows in the status bar, but can't access any website or anything. This sometimes happens while browsing too, if I have not clicked on any link for a while. The only way is to switch the wifi off and on again from my iPad's settings and then it works again. Tried calling apple customer care, tried everything they said, including resetting to factory settings in the end, but no use. Finally got a new replacement from the Service Store. But again, same issue! Tried almost everything i could find on google, including: -Increasing screen brightness -updating the ios to the latest version -tweaking my wireless router settings.. Tried wpa, wpa2, wep, tkip/aes, aes only, tried mac filtering on, tried different channels (got an app which scans all the wifis around and suggests the best channel from 1 to 11), tried tweaking to suggested tcp mss options/tcc mtu options/beacon interval/thresholds/ b/g/n combinations, but no use. Also tried using google dns servers (8.8.8.8 etc) The wifi does not drop and works perfectly on our other devices, including 2 dell laptops, a Galaxy S3, an HTC One X and a Nexus 7 tab. Only the new Ipad 4 has this problem. Here are my settings: Channel 06 (best according to that app) Beacon interval: 100 Rts/cts threshold: 2347 Fragmentation threshold : 2346 Wireless mode 802.11 b+g+n Wpa-psk Tkip/aes I am at a loss. Please help!
