BSNL Broadband: How to Troubleshoot Frequent Disconnection

1. Post your SNR and Attenuation values. Table for speed less than 8 Mbps

If your values are bad, ask the line man to give a clean line. Make sure there are no joints or non insulated parts.

2. Make sure all connections come after splitter. Follow this diagram

Bypass the splitter, connect the line directly to the modem and check.


3. Check if splitter or ethernet cable is faulty. Use a spare one and check.


4. If possible get a friend's modem and check. That will confirm if modem is faulty or not.


5. Do you get power reset ? If yes, check modem's power adpater and make sure it is functioning well.


6. Try GDMT mode in modem and check.

BSNL 3G problem with secure (HTTPS) websites

When i use BSNL3G. Sites like Facebook  irctc, banking etc don't load at oe instant. Either they just hang @ 0bps or get timed out. They respond only after several refresh or enter key. However this cant be done for irctc or banking sites they get logged out

 

But while downloading a solid file the speed hover at 3-4 mbps (sometimes 5) but why it doesn't work on these web sites i dont know. In case of GMAIL it load very fast but occasionally drops. Chat s/w, messengers etc keep disconnecting.

 

Advise me on this please. Is there any setting to changed in configuration etc.. How s all your experience with BSNL 3G  in website cases?

I Just resetted my modem at 08:30pm on 28/04/2012 and see the result

I am using this plan since Dec 2011. You can see that I have downloaded/Uploaded almost 340GB

Before I was thinking that this is temporary.

how to check whether it will work with 64bit windows 8 ?
this device did work on a windows 7 machine
