Slow Torrent Speeds On Airtel Broadband Posted: 30 May 2011 02:52 AM PDT Yep I know that but they have put me on a special retention plans....... and thus I am paying almost what I would pay for just the landline...... the broadband speed is now limited to 512kbps with some other restrictions I just kept it as a backup.... but if airtel continues like how it is doing these days within a year or two I anticipate most of the consumers will just move on..... as the grass is definitely greener on the other side :) |

No connectivity since morning. Posted: 30 May 2011 02:29 AM PDT Things to do: check whether light is blinking where the wire is attached to Cpu Lan. If yes, it is a fiber cut.. Call customer care and raise ticket again and ask them specially to register the complaint with higher priority.. I can see your area's technician or staff are lazy with this sort of action. |
need help regarding beam service pls Posted: 30 May 2011 02:14 AM PDT It is definately possible to provide such speeds of 15mbps as there is a Fair Usage Policy of 40GB and speeds gets back to 4mbps.. Yes they are providing promised speeds, you should understand that any isp doesn't have control after the packets gets out of their node. So people who are dreaming about exact 10/15mbps to all websites or on all http downloads aint possible. I'm getting around 1.1mB/Sec on Http downloads. I download a lot of music videos and mp3s via http using Idm. In torrents i get well over 1mB/Sec download speed. I can say the connection is solid. I have crossed my Fair Usage Policy limit of 30gb in the first 15days and i'm connection is still good wid 2mbps after Fair Usage Policy. Do note i'm on 10mbps plan Rs 1000. I would say check out wid other beam customers in your area/street before taking the beam connection. |

Posted: 30 May 2011 01:54 AM PDT thats bcoz some cable operators (mostly in villages or very outside towns) relay channels using dth connection which is called piracy, instead of getting encoder boxes fpr diff channnels to relay signals ,they dont tell channels about anything and whatever payment a subscriber pays,it directly goes into pocket of cable operator, nothing goes to concerned channel or goverment. earlier this happened in cities too but as dth operators have logos and fingerprinting codes appearing every 15 minutes, in cities this has diminished , also alertness from dth operators is cities is more. pre 2007 tata sky did not have logo on many channels and then they had to install it many started pirating the signals |
