Posted: 13 Mar 2011 03:57 AM PDT Got just the dish installed. It's a bigger dish written "HD Videocon" on it. Two cables are coming out. The set top box is yet to arrive. Might happen only tomorrow. Maybe now I can write something like "My ordeal in getting D2H connection!". Written again to Mr. Vineet. :madness: Once I get it, will also try to post some pictures of the STB. |
Posted: 13 Mar 2011 03:48 AM PDT I am also facing the same problem here in Raipur. Speed is not going beyond 128kbps and all the idiots in CC do not any thing abt. their business. I called them atleast 50 times but not got any solution rather got frustrated. Now I am seriously thinking to take the legal action against them. ---------- Post added at 03:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:48 PM ---------- They are high profile corporate cheaters.........and Customer care,121 is bunch of jockers ---------- Post added at 04:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:54 PM ---------- First they have never communicated that 3g services will only be launched in 20 cities to start with. Just based on their advertisement and hype many people like me took new docomo connections . It took them almost 6 months to start 3g service in state capital of Raipur. Now they have started on 10th of March but capped speed at 128kbps intentionaly. They do not care about customer service .Now after BSNL and Docomo my wait has started for reliance and Idea 3g launch. |

Can I purchase a new VC alone? Posted: 13 Mar 2011 03:16 AM PDT Hi, I have 3-4 Dish TV STBs spare lying around as I kept upgrading when older STBs got slow and when I got 2 new HD STBs. So I was wondering if I can purchase just a VC from DishTV and use the old STBs? Anyone ever done that? Reason I want to do this is that I want to add all my STBs into a multi-room connection and Dish is now not allowing past subscribers to add to multi-room. They permit this only with new connections. Thanks. |

Posted: 13 Mar 2011 01:39 AM PST I have recently applied for WIFI from MTNL Mumbai. I am planning to use this to make my Ipod and WIFI phone online as well besides using it for my desktop. I am planning to purchase a 150M 802.11N adapter for this purpose mostly from Netgear/Belkin. However I have seen a number of threads online on WIFI speeds being slow for Video/Downloads. I use my ADSL 849 NU quite a bit for watching Streams and downloading the latest 'Linux versions' and am quite happy with the connected experience on wireline. Any issues that wireless users have faced while downloading or watching video using MTNL provided WIFI infra? My devices will be in the same room if that helps. I was a frequent user of this forum a year or so ago but have not had problems since then so haven't been on  My connections stats below: ![]() |

Sprint knows what unlimited means... Airtel does not. Posted: 13 Mar 2011 01:24 AM PST of course... with verizon getting the iphone they have solid problems in the US market. but the fact remains, they would be in a real big PR mess if their discontinue unlimited plans in the near future. ---------- Post added at 02:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:53 PM ---------- verizon is pretty close to discontinuing their unlimited plans for iphone 4 and other smartphones. so this is good timing from them. |

Tikona the worst internet service (at least in terms of management) Posted: 13 Mar 2011 12:50 AM PST TIKONA IS a Worst Internet Service In Visakhapatnam. Those people will trap the customers with some offers but they dont give those offers and coming to the speed point of view this is a worst one when compared to other services like Excel Netlinkx viz,. They wont respond for the customers. I am a One of vexed customer of this service this people are charging more. In visakhapatnam one of tikona executive mr Madhu (9652952890) Misguided me and gave me some wrong commitments regarding the speed and offers but he didnt. I gave many complaints on him to tikona people. but they are not responding for me. |

About Hayai Broadband on India Broadband Forum Posted: 13 Mar 2011 12:18 AM PST Well... if/when we were to build our own International cable system, only then could we guarantee some kind of quality of service to other countries, and even then, only as far as the landing points in those countries. Depends on where the site is located. If it's located outside of India, even if we peered with the site in the USA or whereever, we still have to pay to get the transport from the USA to India. I say that there IS an entity called "Hayai Broadband", and at the time when I first registered at broadbandforum.in, I openly stated that it was my intention to start a Broadband company and that I wanted user feedback as to how we could create the best possible service. The fact that it appears to have caused an increase in exposure for this site is merely a side-effect of the idea (as it was at the time) gaining as much traction as it has. Considering that IBF doesn't have anything to do with Hayai (officially), it is indeed a legal necessity, and Sushubh has every right to have a disclaimer and leave all the responsibility to yours truly. I have an office address, but as my company is registered at a residential address - as are many companies - why the hell should I tell you? The address where the government mail goes to is not where we operate from. Irony? From your Twitter profile: I used to be mzsadicote, i realized that i had posted a lot of crap and made a fool of myself. Maybe i can connect this time in a more positive manner as huyogi Actually, if anyone is going to sue you, it'll be me. By all means, I shall be sure to keep an eye out for any false and libelous statements from you - my lawyers will have a field day. If you were a paying customer and were having a bad experience with the service, or had paid for a product and had not received it, then saying bad things about the company might be justified; however spreading rumours with malicious intent is, by definition, a legal no-no - even under Indian law. My advice? If you think that whatever you're going to say might get you sued, don't post it. I'd really rather not be bothered and I am inviting you in the nicest way possible to please keep a level head and don't force me to do anything so rash as file a lawsuit against you. Honestly, I do not want to do that, but, on the other hand, Hayai is my "baby" and I am responsible for the company and inclined to protect it from slander. Oh please, get your head our of your arse. Do you also think that nobody should be allowed to publish their opinions on Airtel's plans or Reliance's plans or MTNL's plans etc? Fictional company or not, an idea is an idea, and there's no better place to throw ideas around than a forum. And we thank you for your continued support. What business is it of Sushubh's if we're a registered business or not? We are not paying him, he is not paying us. Again, fictional company or not, an idea is an idea, and there's no better place to throw ideas around than a forum. Who knows. What exactly do you think my motives are? <anecdote>On April 5th, I will be given a place in a society, courtesy of my grandfather. In order to deserve that place, I am required to maintain the role of "upstanding citizen". Minor traffic offenses and things of that nature are fine, but misleading people and doing whatever it seems to be that you're accusing me of would cause me to be cast out of this society. </anecdote> As such, I'm of the opinion that I have too much to lose if my motives are as shady as you seem to think they are. At the time I registered, we didn't have any of these things. But a lot happens in (almost) 2 years. Sushubh has about as much knowledge about the state of the company as anyone else. Hayai is registered as a Limited Liability Company in both NZ and India (as separate entities with separate addresses). Frankly, I'd like to see you try and start your own ISP. Let's see how long it takes you. Let me know the name of it when it's up and running. Oh, and make sure one of your directors is a foreigner :) Until that time, may I kindly request that you pipe down, as I don't think you have any idea what it actually takes to start a company, letalone in this field. |

Posted: 12 Mar 2011 11:49 PM PST Panasonic is a good brand for Phones and Fax Machines generally. I have one I picked up from US, unfortunately that wouldnt work on 50Hz power cycle and I ended up never using it. However I did find a workaround to using it was to get a 12VDC to 110V AC 60Hz converter from the US. But I have since picked up a HP multi-function inkjet printer and a Canon Pixma 840 which has all printing and faxing capabilities. You should get these around 100-140$. |

Attention Internet Users From Vikhroli and Mulund,Mumbai!! Posted: 12 Mar 2011 10:56 AM PST If there's one thing I dislike about certain organizations, it's the insistance that they call up outside of working hours. I've put my foot down to a couple of different superiors of my Mrs when I was last in India - when she's out of work, it's her time (or us time), and calling her up during these times is nothing short of rudeness. Unless it's life and death urgent, then whatever trivial thing they're calling for can wait until she is back in the office. I've asked at least twice already - both by phone and by email - I'm sure they will send me something at some point, because I know that they haven't taken any thus far, and to get these photos is going to require a special trip on their part, and so I am willing to wait patiently until they have taken the photos I've asked for, because nagging is not going to make it happen faster, but it will irritate people. |
