better first recharge for Rs 95/2GB plan and then activate 3G

Send "ACT 3G" to 111 or 144.
111 - > Postpaid
144 - > Prepaid

Hello,
I am planning to order D2H because you get more channels for less price
when compared to Airtel.

I want to know the picture quality of D2H when compared to Airtel.
Also, Does it have any logo issues like BigTV.
From all the threads i read on D2H i see that they are support issues.
people are also worried about STB. Can you guys educate me whether these
are valid now? Is the D2H STB really that bad and overheats?

MTNL gateway problems?

There are two MTNL gate ways im aware of that is:
192.168.0.1 and
192.168.32.1

the first one is good but constant disconnections ever 5-6hrs or so. the second one has less disconnections but less speed and non functional dns. does anyone know how to solve this problem or a better gateway? Also after 2'o clock everyday there are disconnections for no apparent reason. Please help my gaming gets interrupted:(

wow vodafone is so sad, tried tracert on vodafone.in so many times, still it keeps timing out...... Also I'm not totally sure the server was in Romania,the game creates a server in a location which has the lowest ping for all players. but two guys were romanian, so I guess it was in romania...

will hayai be able to reduce pings further? is it possible for the traffic to take a different route to reduce ping etc?

Never disputed the overwhelming user base of Windows percentage wise, but this thing with Windows applications and features requiring administrative privileges also adds to the security risk. Now as a Linux user i am not much more than a noob, but i can click away with gay abandon on any damn thing and still be certain that my root is not going to be affected unless i give that privilege with my password knowingly. Furthermore, as you say, it's precisely because of it's reach that the majority of viruses and malware are more likely to be executables which will not be able to install anything on my system, even if i indulge in that most foolish of acts.

As per these tarif plans if i pay for 6 months then it will cost me 650pm but what will be my Fair Usage Policy? (200gb pm or for six months). Mtnl customer care guys are not sure about this. Does any one help me

No vodafone Ap has removed conference service in prepaid. I was thinking of moving with docomo, aftr hearing bad experiences from my friends i dropped off my plans, i am happy With aircel and only negative thing is their Gprs!

afak the proxy 100.1.200.99 is only for airtelfun.com apn (WAP access). so therez dnt use it.

Just write airtelgprs.com and leave the proxy nd port fields blank.

IN CASE it doesnt works for you try proxy 202.56.231.117 with port 8080.

Felt the same way when I bought my HDTV. Unfortunately India still uses the 4:3 ratio since most people haven't yet migrated to 16:9 widescreen TV's. There's nothing you can do about it :(

Yeah I definitely want to stick with BSNL for the unlimited 2mbps nighttime deal which no other ISP provides for just Rs 500.

I already took an airtel connection a few months ago (Rs. 550; 1 mps, no nighttime unlimited, 4gb limit) - the connection is very reliable (very low packet loss, haven't experienced any prolonged outages like bsnl yet) and i haven't had any billing related issues : HOWEVER, there is no night time limit, speed is obviously a bit lower AND latency to any server outside india is 50-75ms higher than BSNL [basically it's far far costlier and latency is bad but it's reliable]

Yeah, but u take 1 scenario......which is quite possible MORE OFTEN THAN NOT in KO games -

We are chasing 350 odd score against an Aus/NZ/SL......Sachin & Sehwag give a partly good start - say about 40 odd in 5 overs.

At that time, dont u think any captain would say "Well, let me send in a power hitter to keep momentum going in Powerplay, & reduce the asking rate to some acceptable level."

At this stage, if Yusi makes a quickfire 40 odd in some 20 balls, his job is done.....may be we can even expect more mature innings & he scores 60-70 in 40 something balls - u r very much into the chase then!!

bsnl broadband disconnects every now and then

hi guys,i have a Unlimited-750 plan at home......the problem is that on same days my broadband disconnects every 5 mins keep on disconnecting and there are days when it runs smooth whole day.but on average it gets disconnected every half hour....The link LEd doesnt remain solid and blinks evry now and then..hope u got me.
I have asked exchange ,they said every thing was okay at their end...
Yesterday i called line man.He checked the wires and the there was some rust on loose ends he cut some part and joined them again.Then it ran smooth for the whole day.I thought that the problem is cured.But today it was disconnecting so badly and i am getting frustrated........he said that the wires were fine.....And the landline isin tip top condition.
So what can be the actual problem.....Is it the cables or the modem or something else....
Plzz help....

Please mention your state and SSA. You can go to Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd.- India's No. 1 Telecommunications Company and check the site of BSNL Units > Telecom circles.

Here you get the no. of your concerned official. Call them and ask if there is any possibility to provide internet /WLL at your place.

Activating Vodafone 2gb 30 days GPRS from outside home circle?

To update on this... I was unable to get the 30 day offer on my Mumbai SIM but was getting by OK using the daily 30mb... bit of a hassle though to make sure to turn off data every night, etc.

Got a new SIM card in Rajasthan and I *think* I have the 2gb there. *444# then 6- SMS and GPRS bonus, and option 4 is '2 GB Internet @Rs.96' - got a message to say it would be activated soon and the money was taken from my credit a few minutes later.

On the Rajasthan SIM *225*6# doesn't work to check GPRS mb left though- any ideas? I just get "Network Problem." *141# works most of the time to check balance but sometimes gives me "Your subscriber Id is not valid"... Just got the SIM today, hope the documents get back to Vodafone OK and it doesn't just go dead in a few days.

EDIT: from the Vodafone site, I find (for Rajasthan):

*444*96# to subscribe 2gb 30 days @96R

Send MYCAP to 111 to know remaining MB

SMS is not working over GPS on this SIM card but if I change SMS to GPRS it works and I get 2047mb free.
